Chapter 36:

Chapter 36:
“Oh! No! I already told you we are not talking about my sex life!” -Remington

Remindton:

Part of the problem with Cassidy and I being an actual couple is that everyone in the office knows. Many had been taking bets on how long it would take for us to pair up. Were we that obvious, yet so oblivious?

Fred smiles as I sit across from him in his office.

“So, are you ready to admit I was right?” He asks. “You needed the time off, but you also needed to tell Cassidy how you felt.”

“Yeah, you were right. But in the end, it was Cassidy kissing me when I tripped and he caught me outside of my building that did the trick. I don’t think I would have believed him if he had said anything before that. I had too much doubt that anyone could love me, let alone him…he is…well…he’s certainly not perfect, but he’s gorgeous, and he’s confident and everyone loves him…then there is me,” I explain.

“You are smart and very cute, little brother,” Fred says. “I don’t know why you are always down on yourself, besides, you told me yourself when you were driving home, that you had your first shift, so you do have a wolf side. You can’t complain about being broken anymore, unless Cassidy breaks you when you are having sex.”

“I am not discussing the details of my sexlife with you, Fred. It would be highly inappropriate, especially since my mate is one of our top talent scouts,” I groan.

“Mom wants me to bother you about bringing him to a family dinner,” Fred says.

“She has been bothering me about it ever since she heard about us getting together, thanks to your big mouth,” I grumble.

“Honestly, I thought you would have told her right away! You and her are tight and she has been on us both about finding or choosing mates,” Fred offers with an apologetic shrug.

“THAT is precisely why I didn’t tell her. Cassidy and I are still figuring ourselves out,” I reply. “I mean, we know we are moving into my place together and we are planning on having an official ceremony. Cassidy even offered to have a human marriage as well. He’s really sweet and sentimental in many ways.”

“And mom is going to be all over him about how he treats you and about planning the marking and mating, and then she is going to throw a ton of ideas at you when you are taking your time to plan things,” I completely understand how she gets.

“She means well,” I sigh. “It’s just that…well, she hasn’t exactly been Cass’s biggest fan and now we are mates.”

“That was when you were first roommates. Things are different now and it’s not like he’s flirting with her in nothing but a towel now that you are together,” Fred says as we both remember the day mom met Cass.

It was the middle of my first semester. I had just settled in my bedroom to study while Cassidy showered. Mom had been visiting Dad’s office and decided to stop in and see how I was settling in for herself. Cassidy answered the door in nothing but a towel and in true Cssidy fashion, started flirting. Mom was horrified that I had a “half naked gigolo” in my dorm room. I explained that he was my roommate and that we are friends.

Mom wasn’t happy when Cassidy and I chose to get an apartment off campus after that.

“She won’t give up, so I am going to have to tell Cassidy and then make plans,” I sigh at last.

“About the new office…” Fred starts and folds his hands on the blotter in front of him. “I am going there next month to look at apartments and condos. Then I will have a better idea of when the office will be opening and I will be moving. Dad said he could help out here on a part-time basis if needed and Cassidy won’t need a babysitter once you are fully mated.”

“I fully trust Cassidy, even now,” I reply. “Dad doesn’t need to worry, but he can help if he wants. I might need it when Cassidy and I have children.”

“Ooh! Already talking about having a family together? I thought you were going slow. Or is there something you need to tell me? Am I going to be an uncle? I know about the whole spores and spawning thing…I might not look fae, but I can do that too,” Fred asks.

“Oh! No…We…Cassidy just admitted that he never wanted children, but being with me, he wants to start a family as soon as I feel we are ready,” I explain as quickly as I can, knowing my cheeks must be vibrant red thanks to the high level of embarrassment I am feeling.

“Uh…huh? So you're telling me you and Cassidy haven’t…” Fred Starts.

“Oh! No! I already told you we are not talking about my sexlife!” I shout way louder than intended.

“Um…I guess this would be the wrong time to see if you want to go get lunch, or maybe have a quickie,” Cassidy says from the doorway with a wink and smirk

I glare at him.

“I’m sorry, Baby. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tease you, though. You are so adorable when you blush…heck you are always adorable and I’ll be a good boy now,” Cassidy says while I roll my eyes at him.

“I am ready for lunch, but we are not having sex, or talking about sex in the office,” I groan.

“Are you sure?” Lady Bat Blood asks from the corner of Fred’s secretary’s desk.
