Chapter 87: Lilith P.O.V.
Chapter 87: Lilith P.O.V.
The last thing I remember was the feeling of every part of being engulfed in flames and my nails digging into my skin as the chants became louder and louder until I fainted.
The sound of a bird chirping woke me from the despair that filled me knowing the bonds between them had been broken. Did they feel it too? The moment that the witches had come to my aid and broken off the little remnants that clung to my wolf? I know that I had asked them to lock the door but I never told them not to move me, so I guess in a way everyone had kept their promises.
The room that I was in was so comfortable and nothing like the stuffy hospital room that I was in. The room was covered in large windows for two of the walls, light sage green paint was on the remaining walls and black borders of the windows. When I looked at the floor there was a mixture of light wood that danced across the floor until it hid under the tan rug. White curtains filtered the amount of light coming through the window but it was still bright and the bedding wasn’t as fancy as my now ex-mate’s like. I loved it even more.
The sheets were a simple white with no design or crazy soft material and the blanket was airy almost with a matching green. The color was growing more and more on me while I stepped out of the bed carefully. It looked like a pair of crutches so I grabbed them and hobbled over to the bookshelf, “Wow.” i whispered, when there was a knock on the door
What the hell am I wearing? I looked down at my clothes noticed a thin white dress like material. I mean I love it, I think this looks absolutely amazing but who changed me? Wait, focus. Someone is at the door and they want to come in what do I do?
“Lily, it’s just me.” Emily squeaked out.
“Oh, I’m so sorry! Come in!” I squealed, laughing at myself for the complete jumbled thoughts. I felt even worse seeing her manage two trays of food and then opening the door at the same time.
She set the trays down on the cutest wood desk that I had ever seen and pulled a small mini standing tray next to a green chair in the room, “How did I get here?” I blurted out.
She laughed, “You blacked out during the spell so my brother talked to the nurses and we brought you here. The girls not him and then they helped you change into a comfortable night gown. By the way, my brother left this.” She gasped, pulling out an envelope with my name written in cursive.
I grabbed it and traced my finger’s over it, “Wow.” I whispered, when my wolf growled.
‘We literally had to run away from the last ones that we thought were safe. Don't let your heart get in the way of everything that we could have here for once please ignore this.’ my wolf whimpered.
I looked at the envelope and put it into one of the drawers inside of the desk and turned back to someone I was starting to consider a friend, “Okay so where are we? What is this place? What do people do here with their free time?” question after question blurted out.
Emily giggled, “ I hope you end up reading that letter but I won’t pressure you. We are at the lakeside house and this will be your room as long as you would like it to be. During the day there is all sorts of activities that you can participate in but nothing is required. We just need to figure out what sorts of things that you are interested in.” Emily smiled.
“But first breakfast.” She exclaimed, grabbing plate after plate of food. Something smelled delicious. It must have been some sort of burned meat but it sizzled and I was practically drooling.
“What is that?” I groaned and my stomach followed with a grumbling noise.
“Bacon.” she laughed, handing me the plate and I scarfed it down. It happened with plate after plate until I was stuffed and i felt even more tired then before.
“Em, I think I need to take a nap? Can we put our plans on hold?” I asked and of course Emily emily told me yes.
She closed the door and then I went to the drawer with the letter addressed to me in black handwriting and laid down in the bed. I pried the envelope open and looked at the elegant words.
Dear Lily,
You have gone through so much hurt and trauma in your life and I want to apologize. I didn’t have time to properly tell you that you are one of the strongest and bravest women I have ever met. After I have received the blood test back and confirmed you are a witch, I would like to formally accept you into our sanctuary.
I understand through your life men have failed you and I’m sorry. I hope that you get to work with my sister and the therapist to finding a life of happiness and peace. I promise not to give anybody information regarding who you are or where you came from. If you would like, we could call you something else as a form of renewing yourself?
I would also in the future like to have my sister and a few other tutors help you learn how to control your magic. I hope you will be willing to accept the help but I would understand if you need time.
If you would like to talk through letters instead of communicating in person I would be more than willing to pick them up dusk which would be around 4 in the morning. I have also set up a smart phone which my sister should have ready for you soon with my contact information.
Let me know what you decide, I hope to hear from you soon.
