Side Story 2-9
Levi
A big smile breaks across my face when I hear her say, "I love you, too, Levi," as she raises her hand and strokes my face.
I can't help but to lean back down and take her sweet lips again.
We go home, where I show her just how much I love her.
Time passes as if in an hourglass, fast and slow at the same time.
One moment, Chase was asking us(me, Roxy, and Tim) if he could have our blessings to marry Liam, the next, he was proposing to Liam on Christmas Eve.
A couple of months later, they got married in the Maldives, Chase paying for all of us to go.
It was a beautiful beachfront ceremony on a beautiful beachy day. I look at Linda as we watch Liam walk down the aisle to Chase. She's crying, dabbing at her eyes with a tissue as she tries not to ruin her makeup. I smirk as I wonder if she'll be looking for this next. I don't know. I love Linda, but I'm not sure I'm ready for this final nail in my coffin.
Not saying it like that! Because again, I love Linda. Marriage is just a big step, and I was a Playboy only a couple of years ago. So, no. I don't think I'm ready for that yet.
I'm not saying I don't want to marry her, because future me does. Present me isn't there yet.
I smile as the officiant announces Chase and Liam husband and husband, alpha and omega. I stand up with everyone else, clapping and letting out loud whoops.
Liam glances over at me. I wink and smile at him. He sticks his tongue out and turns back to Chase. Brat.
I turn back to Linda to see her chuckling; she must have seen our exchange. I smile and laugh out loud at how happy I am in this moment.
We walk to the resort and go to their banquet room for the wedding reception.
Chase and Liam had their first dance, then I stepped in as the father figure of the omega and danced with Liam.
After which, not wanting to feel left out, Roxanne and Tim each had a dance with Liam.
Liam was done after that, since he is five months pregnant after all. I escorted Liam to the bridal table, depositing him into a seat next to Chase.
I bowed before walking back to my table, taking my seat next to Linda.
The servers started serving the food, and everybody was sitting around and chatting loudly.
There aren't that many of us here, probably between 15 - 20, including the bridegrooms.
But it sounds like a whole crowd of people, that's how loud it is. As everyone finishes eating, someone starts dinging their glass.
We all turn to see Chase's mom and dad standing up, holding a microphone.
Chase's dad starts with, "When I first met Liam, I didn't know what to think. The first thought that came to mind was: He's cute, but he's a man!" We all chuckled at that.
"Then we got to know him, and the saying 'To know him is to love him' holds very true for Liam. We fell in love with him as we learned what type of man he is and the things he stands for."
"We love you, Liam. Welcome to the family."
Everyone awed and applauded. Then the microphone was passed around. The thunk of it passing hand to hand echoes through it.
Pretty soon, the mic reaches its destination: me.
I look around, a little flustered, as everyone stares at me expectantly. I grab the mic and lift it to my mouth, "I.. uh.. Hi."
Everyone laughs. I smile and forge on, "I've known Liam his whole life, haha, and he's grown up to be a remarkable young man. When he first introduced me to Chase, I thought Chase was just hanging around to slum it with Liam."
"When I found out they were fated mates, I was skeptical. I straight up didn't believe Liam when he told me they were destined to be together.
"But when Liam went through something traumatic and wasn't around, I got to know Chase on another level. He became like another brother, so much closer than a friend."
"So with open arms and an open heart, Chase, welcome to the family."
Tears are flowing freely down my face by the time I finish speaking. I look over and see that I'm not the only one, as almost everyone around is wiping their eyes.
I smile softly when I look at Chase and Liam and see them wiping their eyes as well. "Anybody else want the mic?" I ask, looking around.
Somebody yells out, "You've said it all! There's no topping that!" Everybody laughs at that. I take my seat, flushing bashfully. What the hell? Why am I feeling shy all of a sudden?
Linda looks at me, wiping her eyes. I read her lips as she mouths, "I love you."
I smile and say out loud, "I love you more." All I hear around the table is "Aww!" I smirk and wink at Linda, she's so gonna get it later, and she doesn't even know it. She's gonna get it for making me a sap, a lovesick fool. She made me not mind wearing my heart on my sleeve for all to see.
But I don't mind it, lovesick fool that I am, I'll do anything for that woman. We enjoy the rest of our stay in the Maldives until it's time for us to return to our regular lives.
Time passes, and soon it's time for Liam to give birth. Chase called when they were en route to the hospital. He said we can come and wait, or he can update us and let us know when the babies are born.
I'm a little swamped at work, so I say, "Let me know when those babies get here, and I'll be there."
"Got it, I'll call you," Chase replies.
I get lost in work until my phone rings a couple of hours later. I look and see it's Chase, "Yeah, they here?!"
"Yeah, man. Two beautiful bundles. Come see," is his reply.
"I'm on my way," I say, standing up and grabbing my keys.
I arrive at the same time as Roxanne and Tim, and we all hurry as we make our way up to Liam's room.
Tim loudly asks, "Where's my niece and nephew?"
Chase shushes him, motioning to Liam asleep on the bed. I nod and slap Tim on his arm. He looks at me and mouths, "What?"
I shake my head and mouth, "Keep it quiet!" to which he just shrugs.
We walk further in the room, Roxanne walking up to Chase and taking the pink wrapped bundle. I walk up to him next and take my nephew from him carefully.
I walk away murmuring soothing sounds and sweet nothings to the baby. So cute!
Tim stands in the middle of the floor looking between me and Roxanne with a 'what the fuck' expression on his face.
I chuckle softly at his childishness. Tim and Chase start exchanging words, and Liam wakes up at that moment, asking what's going on.
Then Liam shuffles up in bed and asks for the babies while unbuttoning his shirt. Roxanne and I pass the babies over, watching fascinatingly as they latch and start suckling.
I turn and look at Chase, "So, what are their names?"
He looks at Liam, "Would you like to do the honors?"
Liam nods and turns to us, "Baby girl's name is Charlotte Alexandria Logan, baby boy is Charles Alexander Logan. We'll call them both Alex for short."
I give them a what the fuck look, and I see them trying to contain their laughter.
Chase says, "While it's much easier to call them the same thing, I don't think the kids will like it. We'll talk to them when they get older. If they don't mind, we'll call them both Alex."
Liam shakes his head, "No, we'll call Charles Charlie, and Charlotte Lottie."
We all start talking about what we'll call the babies. Chase and Liam immediately tell Tim no Harry Potter references.
I just laugh as I look around at my family. Getting older, growing bigger.
