Epilogue

In September, after nine months of pregnancy, Isabelle gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby girl, whom she and her husband named Rose. Johnathan was overjoyed, and Isabelle was also very happy, because finally had the baby she wanted so much. Maria and Eleazar got married in December. Marco and Teresa followed a year later. Selene and Damon had not yet thought about getting married, they wanted to enjoy each other in peace now.

On June 20, 2019, Elisabeth ended her service as the head of the Sorceress Council, taking a well-deserved retirement. There was a farewell ceremony during which Meredith, personally appointed by Elisabeth, became the new Council leader. Selene was proud of her aunt. Deborah joined the Big Three because Meredith's nomination made a seat vacant, and she was the oldest of the other Council members.

Selene said goodbye to Sara and Jennifer for good, who had left for college, each in a different part of the country. This is how she also said goodbye to normal human life forever. But Selene now had many years to live with Damon. Of course, she was sure, as was everyone else, that Johann hadn't completely given up and would attack again as soon as he rebuilds his army. It will probably take several hundred years to do so, but Johann will return to avenge the deaths of his brother, Salvatore, his cousin, Alistair, and many of his friends and brothers of his kind. But then Selene and the others will be ready...

Selene moved out of her aunt's house and started living with Damon in an apartment situated a little closer to downtown Los Angeles. She studied medicine, and Damon worked at a nearby auto repair shop. From the outside, they looked like a completely normal pair of young people who just started living together. Nobody even suspected that after hours they were busy eliminating demons, which were slowly starting to attack people in their normal mode again. When necessary, Selene and Damon attended the Sorceress Council meetings, seeing not only Aunt Meredith but the rest of their friends. Of course, they also met with them on many other occasions.

That day, Selene and Damon were spending time together at their home. The happiness they felt was indescribable. For a long time they wanted to take their relationship to the next level, but held back, initially waiting for them to decide to get married. However, when evening came and they watched a movie together, at the end of which their lips joined in a passionate kiss, the timing seemed perfect for both Selene and Damon. They couldn't wait any longer, and the desire to unite their bodies completely overwhelmed them.

Damon laid Selene gently on the couch, kissing lips, then moving toward her ear, over Selene's neck and exposed cleavage. His hands quickly moved under her blouse, pulling it up more and more until he removed it completely. Selene repaid him by taking off his T-shirt and then running her hands over his muscular torso, arms, and chest. Damon, meanwhile, slid his lips down onto her belly, meanwhile quickly unfastening Selene's bra. Then he began lovingly caressing both breasts, placing gentle kisses on them. Selene closed eyes, twisting fingers into her beloved's hair.

The atmosphere, as if warmed by their burning bodies and hot breaths, became thick. Damon slowly slipped off the sweatpants Selene was wearing, along with the underwear, then began unfastening the belt on his jeans, which he did quite smoothly too. Selene, seeing his erection, slid her hands down from Damon's chest, rubbing it through the fabric of his underwear. His breathing quickened immediately, and a low groan escaped from his mouth. Finally, Damon grabbed her hand, letting know he couldn't take it anymore, then slid his boxers off and settled between Selene's legs, who opened them invitingly. Before Damon could take full advantage of the invitation, however, he caressed around her center, then slipping one finger in, then two. He didn't have to do it for a long time, because Selene was pretty wet before that, and she looked pleadingly at him, indicating that was ready. She didn't have to ask for long, because Damon soon entered her gently, then began to move slowly, speeding up his thrusts with each passing moment, especially when he saw the obvious bliss on Selene's face.

Selene ran her hands all over Damon's body, feeling the heat spreading inside her. Their hearts sped up with every minute, every movement, lips joined in long, passionate kisses. Moans of pleasure escaped Selene's lips over and over as Damon's thrusts grew stronger and faster. They both came almost simultaneously, falling into each other's arms, where they hugged each other tightly.
