Chapter 40

“Here’s one for you Doc,” said the sheriff as he came into the Parish Medical Examiners office. He handed the doctor a telegram.

“What’s this?” He took the paper and read the message. “Well I’ll be . . . Christopher Le Monte killed those two Weston Brothers.

“I think he saved the taxpayers of this parish the expense of another trial . . . don’t you?” the Sheriff asked.

“It does in deed.”

“The only thing I’m worried about . . . if he keeps it up I’ll be out of a job.” They both laughed.
