Chapter 30 You Have to Choose One of Us
As twilight descended, Allison made her way to the restaurant club according to the location sent by Jasper.
An attendant led her to the private dining room.
She knew she couldn’t avoid Jasper easily.
Even though their engagement was called off, she was still the adopted child of the Sterling family.
She knocked on the door twice. When it opened, she stepped
inside.
At the long dining table, Richard sat on one side, while Jasper and Chloe were on the other.
To her surprise, Jasper had brought Chloe along.
Well, Well, she really shouldn’t be surprised. He even brought her to Dylan’s birthday banquet. A simple dinner? Child’s play.
Chloe greeted her cheerfully, as if they were close friends. “Allie, you’re here!”
Jasper remained silent, but his annoyance was palpable at the sight of her.

“Sit down,” Richard said, his cold gaze fixed on her.

“Sure,” Allison replied, glancing around. There were only four seats in total.
Since Jasper and Chloe were sitting together, she had no choice but to take the seat next to Richard.
She walked over and sat down.
The attendant placed her backpack in the cabinet and then started serving the dishes.
The private dining room was quite spacious, yet with Richard around, the atmosphere grew stifling.
Especially for Allison.
Seated right beside him, she felt completely engulfed by his imposing presence.
As she picked up her coffee cup and took a sip, she felt Jasper’s eyes on her but pretended not to see it.
Jasper finally broke the silence. “So, how’d you get here?”
“By bus,” Allison replied casually.
Jasper frowned, clearly taken aback. “A bus? Since when do you take
the bus?”

Lucky Draw Chloe, trying to play the nice girl, chimed in softly, “Allic, you know Jasper’s gonna worry about you. Don’t do crazy stuff like following us around. If you wanna go to an auction, just tell Jasper, and he’ll take you.”
Allison stole a quick glance at Richard sitting beside her.
After all, he was aware of the real reason she’d come to New York.
Seeing that he didn’t want to say anything, she shot back, “I’m just here traveling around. Don’t flatter yourselves, thinking I’m here for you two.”
Chloe was left speechless, looking embarrassed.
Jasper’s face darkened.
In his eyes, Allison was a stalker, a liar, and stubborn. She’d been spoiled rotten!
Just then, the attendant came in with a dish, and he shifted his gaze away from Allison.
During the meal, Jasper and Richard talked about business and the
economy.
Richard was a man of few words. His remarks were brief but always hit the nail on the head.
No wonder she’d heard back at the Sterling Manor that Richard had great influence in New York–he could make or break the national economy with a single word.

Allison couldn’t help but recall what she’d seen and felt that
night, which added to her pressure.
“Allie, come back with us after dinner,” Jasper said.
“Yes, Allie. I’ve missed you so much. Jasper will worry about
you if you’re out there alone. Be a good girl,” Chloe said, feigning concern while actually burning with jealousy.
Allison was about to decline directly.
But if she did, she could predict Jasper’s reaction–he’d force her to go with him.
So Allison decided to let him make the choice.
“Jasper, I can go back to Los Angeles with you. But Chloe can’t come with us,” Allison demanded.
Jasper replied without hesitation, “No way! How could I leave her here alone?”
Damn it. How long is she going to keep this up?
“You have to choose one of us,” Allison insisted.
