Chapter 82

As we are walking into the Shaffer's mansion, it is so beautiful. It always has been. They constantly had too much stuff, and it was always more than what they knew what to do with. I can tell that Derek is nervous, and he doesn't really know what to expect here. I haven't told him what I have really been up to. He was constantly worried about how I would feel with him deceiving me that he never thought that I would deceive him at all. All this time has gone by since the Shaffer's have tried to kill me. I wasn't letting them get away with it, and why would I?

I don't think Derek ever realized that Brittany and I have never stopped talking. All of this was our plan. We planned on trying to get her out of the contract that her parents made for her, but me falling in love with him and having his child was totally not in the original plans. I don't regret it though because I love him with all my heart, and I am so happy that I have met him. I am also very happy that we have our sweet girl. Derek has been making his own plans with the contract not realizing that I have been making my own plans on how to kill them.

Brittany and I have been creating this plan for a while now, but I'm surprised that it's actually about to happen. We were not going to allow them to try to control Faithlyn's life like they did Brittany's. It's sad that Brittany never even knew she had a brother or a nephew until now. The happy-go-lucky life that everyone thought that she lived was not the case by far. She has been miserable for a long time. I'm hoping after we get what we need to get done she will be able to live her life, and I will be able to live mine. My sweet Faithlyn will be able to choose her own path, and it won't be chosen for her.

Nobody is ever going to find out who planned all this because we will leave no trace. The money trail is gone, and I have collected everything that I needed to be able get this done with no one even noticing. I've been deceiving Derek, but Jill has helped too. She wanted to protect our Faithlyn. She also knows how much I truly love Derek and that I would do anything for him. He is not willing to kill because he knows there would be reprecussions for his actions. This is why we are going to do it so that nobody will be paying for any kind of actions because Brittany's parents will be dead. We will be the only survivers of the massacre that happens tonight. I also ordered that Tanner's family will not be any harmed either since they had nothing to do with any of this.

We walk into the big dining room. I see how powerful they think they are and how much control they think they have. It makes me sick the way they want to control people's lives! It's not fair, and they must pay. I hope that everything goes as planned and nothing backfires. I just want this to be over. Everyone has always seen me as this innocent girl who just does what she's told. They would never think that I would be capable of planning something like this. The fact of the matter is you don't know how capable you are until you become a mother. Until you have someone that you need to protect from all of the evil in this world. You realize that you would absolutely do anything for them. My mother might not have loved me the way I love Faithlyn, but that's her loss not mine.

There is no changing my mind. This has to be done, and they have to be taught a lesson. There comes a time when your just tired of being controlled. Brittany is done with everything they've done, and it's unfortunate that they drove her to this point. In all honesty though, I'm sort of glad because my Faithlyn will be safe from them. I asked Derek if his family was planning on coming, and he said no. I really hope that they don't change their minds. I don't want them to perish like Brittany's parents are going to. It's going to be like the contract never existed, and everything is just going to disappear. They wanted to play this game, so let's play. Time for some acting.

The Shaffer's welcome us into the dining room. They have a serious look trying to hide their resolve that we are going to pay for whatever is about to happen with the contract. What they don't know is that the contract will not happen at all, but of course, they don't know what is about to come. No one does but Brittany and I. Derek shakes their hands out of respect, and greeting them by kissing their asses. I'm hoping that they will throw him a bone with this contract. I need to play along, but my anger is taking over me. I'm just trying not to freak the fuck out since they tried to kill me.

I smile, "Good evening. Thanks for letting us discuss this contract between our families to help decide what is best for our children."

I hear a voice behind me saying, "This is bullshit! There shouldn't have to be a contract! We should just let our kids decide on their own future."

I look back, and it seems to be Tanner's father who spoke. I agree with him. Why are they so selfish to the point that they want this contract between our families?

Derek cuts in, "Let's not start on bad terms. Neither families want this. We are doing our best and it's not like we have any other choices in this matter."

"If you would have just married Brittany in the fucking first place none of this would have happened! This is all of you two's fault! It's happening because of you two choosing not to be together!"

"All right guys knock it off! I know nobody wants this to happen, but it has to. We don't have a choice in it, so what is going to happen is going to happen. So, why don't we come up with something that will still allow our children to have some kind of normal life."

Mr. Shaffer laughs and says, "Why don't we all just sit down at the dinner table for now and enjoy some good food, and then we will discuss this more."

I am so irritated with him. I just want to punch him in his face! He is such an arrogant asshole that doesn't care about anybody but himself and what he can gain from every situation. That's probably what made him so wealthy because of how selfish he is. Derek grabs my arm gently and pulls me to the dining room to get seated.

I look at him, smile, and whisper in his ear, "Thank you, but do you think that we will be able to come up with some kind of agreement with them?"

"I hope so because what more of a choice do we have? There isn't anymore we can do other than what we are doing now."

As we all find our seating at the dining table, I look at the clock, and I see that it's almost seven pm. I know that seven fifteen is when all hell is going to break loose, and bullets are going to be flying. I'm hoping that all of this will be over soon and that we will be able to finally escape. I hope we can finally live a life of happiness and be able to have our own control.
