Chapter 198 Little Were-witch
Let Me Go, Alpha Calhoun 198:
Calhoun's POV
I am starting to think that bringing my wife hear is a bad idea, listening to all of the bullshit that witch had to say. It doesn't make any sense, and when I heard Kristen agree that she felt the mate bond deeper with Theodore than with me, I knew I had to leave.
The witches seem to be having this party or so, and in order to take my mind off what's troubling me, I take a closer look at them. They seem to be at peace,
contented as they cast spells in the air, shift and let their large wolves howl.
The lit a bonfire next to the beach and are dancing around it, giving the vibes of two centuries ago. I can't tell, everything about them seems off, although it makes me lose focus on what's tugging my mind.
A young girl in her early twenties or so, beckons on me to join them, and I had to steal a quick glance behind me, wondering if its someone else she's calling out to and not me, but I see no one else.
Upon my reluctance to join them, she leaves the dancing crowd and makes her way toward me.
She looks young, even younger than Kristen.
"You're Alpha Calhoun of the greyhound pack," there's admiration in her eyes when they settle on me
"Who else is clad modern clothes if not me?" I gruffly five here this response, upon not wanting any attention from her or even anyone.
"You seem to be over the edge, although I still find your remark amusing," She breaks into a sheepish grin and puts her hands behind her.
"If you speak this much fluent English, why can't you all behave like normal people?" The frown on my face is starting to deepen at this, because she doesn't seem to take the hint that I don't want company and leave.
Instead, she chuckles and takes a seat beside me.
Shit. I curse under my breath because now, things are seeming worse.
Grinding my jaw, I shift at least two feet away from her, maintaining enough distance because when females approach me like this, it always screams trouble. Either they want me to sleep with them, or they're trying to separate me and Kristen.
"It's our choice, Alpha Calhoun," the girl raises her head to observe my face when she informs me of this.
"What do you mean?" This question slips from my mouth, betraying me when all I want is to keep it shut and clench my jaw.
"As you can see, we don't have an Alpha in the Silverline pack, and even if powers are unequal here, we all consider ourselves as equal," she explains.
For a moment, I look around, wondering if her parent or sibling is around to caution her to stay away from a man like me, but no one seems to be paying attention to us, since they're so engrossed in their bonfire
party.
"Why are you all alone, Alpha Calhoun? Isn't your masked wife supposed to be here with you?" The girl, presses on, although I don't know her name or seem
to care.
I don't make any response to this, I just remain seated and wonder how things are going on between she and the witch. Upon recalling when she admitted that she felt a deep connection with Theodore, makes me clench and unclenched my jaw. Namala said Kristen stopped being mine on the day I rejected her, and so it made the gods bring her a second mate, Theodore Fitzgerald, whom could have been a more powerful Alpha than I am.
"Why are you so upset?" The girl beside me continues with her questions as she leans forward to examine my face
"Don't you have anything else to do? I am not one to entertain females," I try to wave her off with my rude response, but she doesn't make any move to leave and it's more like she's stuck here with me, won't leave until I do so'
"Sure, it's obvious but then you're pissed off, you can try relaxing your mind by doing something else," she
tells me, sparking my interest.
"And what could that be?" I blink with a slight interest, although I am aware she's not to be trusted.
"Alcohol?" She holds up a wooden cup in my face,
something which she was able to snatch from someone else's hands with her powers, while she is quietly seated near me.
"I'm not interested," I try to wave this off because I stopped accepting drinks from people ever since I was poisoned by Alpha Ezra, the man whom I thought was mine childhood friend. And then Emilia, Alpha Morrison's mischievous daughter who drugged me.
"It's just a drink, alpha Calhoun. I mean no harm," the girl persists, unwilling to give up. And that tiny smile on her face just irks me even more.
"Drink," she's suddenly near me, holding the cup an inch closer to my mouth, her blue eyes boring into mine as if she's trying to cast an enchantment.
"Enough," I slam the cup away from my face and it falls and pours into the sand,
"You're mean," she growls at me with bared fangs, showing her true colors.
Although, I am upset by the way things are going but it doesn't mean I would behave rashly by accepting a drink from a witch, when I don't know what she's put in it. I won't act fool anymore when I have in fact, seen more than enough and there's a current issue at hand which needs to be rectified.
"Do well to keep your distance from me," I warn.
"A drink is just something harmless, Alpha Calhoun," the girl adds, seemingly upset.
"You're trying to use charms on me, so you could get me in your bed," I point out the obvious because why else would she approach me in the first place if she doesn't have an ulterior motive?
And she doesn't give a reply to this, instead she lets her fangs disappear and takes a gulp, something which gives out that I am in fact, right.
"It's not every day we see your kind of man here,"
she admits, while stroking my arm with ease. If she's afraid of me, she doesn't even show it. Instead she seems intrigued by me, like I am a challenge, a mystery she's trying to unravel.
Gently holding her away from me, I suck harshly in
my breath before releasing it, "Listen to me, I have a wife whom I love and I do not plan to hurt her in anyway." I make this known to her, hoping she'll take the hint that I don't want her and then back off. "It's not considered as cheating if she doesn't know," the little were-witch assures me.
"You're too young to approach a man like me, find
something important to do. Like create more magic spells or read The Encyclopedia of Witchcraft to
enhance your powers," my voice is stern enough to tell her off, but upon knowing her kind of person within this short period of time, I know she's not
leaving. "Kristen was only two years younger than I am now,
when you started sleeping with her," she tells me with a smirk.
For a minute, fuck!
I can't believe this is actually happening. One moment
I was alone, trying to cool off my anger, and the next
moment, a young witch is trying to get me into getting intimate with her.
"If we just go to a quiet corner to do this, it won't
take up to an hour and we'll get done with it. I can't
wait to feel you inside of me,” she admits in a sultry tone and presses her small body to mine. This time, I don't even hesitate to push her away from me. Something which makes her go crashing into a group of girls.
And gasps erupt upon from the people upon the realization of what I just did. "How dare you do this to me!?" She screams with
hurt and anger written all over her face, but the
people around her end up holding her back. They were already warned by Namala to keep off, else they would have to answer to her. So, they're trying to refrain this little were-witch from attacking me. She's so upset, that I can see her veins bulging out
along her neck. And it's all because I pushed her away from me like my fellow man, so it's worse than an insult. More of a humiliation.
Amused instead of upset, I bite back a chuckle. She
clearly asked for it because I told her off a couple of times but she wouldn't listen.
Deciding I won't stay here to tolerate any more
bullshit, I jump to my feet and take my leave.
"To hell with you, Calhoun!" She bellows at the top of her lungs from where she's being held, and then hauls some insults at me.
