Chapter 190 Haunted By His Ghost

Chapter 190 Haunted By His Ghost

Kristen's POV
"Run faster, get us out of here!" I instruct my wolf as she runs in the rain.
The urge to get away from everything and everyone is powerful, as this is one of the most terrible nights I have had.
Because things are getting even worse than I expected.
Who would have thought I would be out here like this? Torturing both myself and my wolf?
At first, Calhoun was with me and we were talking, suddenly his face faded away and it was Theodore whom I started seeing.
Who wouldn't run away? It wasn't even my husband from the beginning. Theodore's ghost has begin his haunt once more, driving me nuts with it.
To make things worse, everyone who I saw was Theodore. Including the people who I thought were Bruce and Sapphire.
It's so horrible, feels like I am trapped in a world
where everyone I see is Theodore. The man whom I ripped his heart out.
So I am running, trying to get away as far as possible, hoping to wake up from this horrible dream.
But it feels way too real.
My wolf isn't running as fast as I want and it's frustrating, but there's nothing I can do about it because the rain is pouring with full force.
Even the faces in the cars which seem to be on the road, are all Theodore's faces.
A man, a woman, even an infant.
Fuck!
And because the rain isn't close to stopping, my wolf cannot run anymore since her vision is getting obstructed by the harsh, non-stop droplets of the rain.
Her fur is all soaked and the more she wiggles her body to get less wet, the more she gets soaked.
Lastly, she stubbornly stops and decides not to go ahead anymore.
"You need to listen to me and run!" I order because I am the one in charge.
Instead, she finds somewhere, an abandoned
warehouse to hide and sits on the floor.
Frustrated, I shift back to my human form.
I am wet by the rain, shivering violently.
My hair and clothes are plastered to my body.
No clue of the exact place I am, nor do I know if I am still in the Greyhound pack or if I have side-stepped our territory and run into another pack.
Why the heck is this happening to me of all the timing in the world?
I have Calhoun, Aiden and I am currently carrying Calhoun's second child. I have a lot ahead of me, people who look up to me.
Why do I keep seeing Theodore's face everywhere?
Am I going insane?
It'll be a terrible thing for the Greyhound's Luna to lose her wits. I might get locked up and hidden from everywhere. Calhoun might see me as a burden and Aiden will be taken far away from me.
A son threatens to tear right out of my throat, but I suppress it by clenching my jaw.
Is this my punishment for being remorseless from killing Theodore?
The sound of footsteps coming this way snaps me out of my thoughts. And I can see a faint torchlight
swinging.
I hold my breath still, trying to not make any sound because I am being haunted at this point in time.
Suddenly, the torchlight is jerked in my face.
"Who are you!?" The man's yells make me flinch.
And his face, surprisingly, it's different. I am seeing his real face and not that of Theodore's.
"How did you even get here?" He looks at me with distaste. He's not too old, around my father's age or less.
"Start talking because I don't have any patience," The man snarls at me while wiggling the torchlight in my
face.
Wordlessly, I rise to my feet and try to side-step him, but he grabs my wrist.
"You need to tell me how you got here," he snarls at me with yellowy teeth.
Exasperated and exhausted from all of my running, I
headbutt him so hard, to the extent that his grip on my wrist loosens and he staggers backward with a deadbeat groan.
Pushing some strands of wet hair away from my face, I run away from the abandoned warehouse.
Clueless on the path I am taking.
It's been one horrible occurrence after the other. I am
already facing too much to let someone else add up to
it. Calhoun never came to meet me, it was Theodore all along. He played me into relaxing, and then he unveiled his face.
The rain has reduced into a drizzle, so it's quite easy
to walk now.
Barefooted, drenched from the crown of my head and to the soles of my feet, I walk along the road. Not like
Luna of the Greyhound pack or Calhoun's wife, but as a woman who's being haunted by the ghost of her second mate, a man whom she killed.
"Kristen!" Upon hearing the familiar voice of my
husband, I take my heels again. Because it's probably Theodore's ghost coming right after me again, with the voice of my husband.
He's done more than enough damage already. It's one
thing for me to see him everywhere and another to have him switch his voice to Calhoun's.
"Kristen, don't run away from me!" I hear the voice
again. And with my heart in my throat, I double my pace.
Because I'm afraid if I slow down, I'll get caught by Theodore.
The animalistic noise coming from my behind gives
out that someone is shifting and running after me.
He's fast. He was fast when he was alive too. My four steps of running is one of the beast's gallops.
And I don't even turn to steal a backward glance because I know I'll scream.
Before I can see anything else, something hits me hard and sends me to the wet ground.
But before my head can hit the floor, a large hand
secures it.
And there, I see the familiar eerily blue eyes of my husband.
Not the gray eyes of my dead mate, my tormentor.
