Chapter 168 Fight
Kristen's POV
Oh, God, no.
This is even worse than I expected.
Theodore didn't only demand Calhoun should give me to him, he also
announced to everyone that we're mates.
It's all my fault! I could have told Calhoun the first time, and things
wouldn't have escalated to this extent.
Now, my husband will start to lose
every trust he has in me.
The silence hanging in the air is as sharp as a butcher's knife.
And at this point, I can't even find my voice to speak up anymore because the truth is finally out, Calhoun will know that I have been lying to him this entire time.
"You think I'm joking? Ask Kristen yourself," Theodore address Calhoun with that sick smirk never disappearing from his face.
Slowly, Calhoun shifts his gaze at me.
And panic starts punching out of my lungs.
"The moon goddess knows you're already married to Kristen, yet she
made both Kristen and I mates because you're no fit for her," Theodore shouts at the top of his lungs.
"Shut up!" In a second, Calhoun's hands are tightened around
Theodore's throat.
It was unexpected.
He throws Theodore down and pins him to the floor.
People are beyond stunned right now, because the drama unfolding in front of them is something they never expected.
"You think you can kill me, Calhoun?"
Theodore hits his head against the floor and laughs boisterously, his large shoulders shaking along with him.
"I took you in, sheltered and fed you," My husband looks utterly regretful, the need to hold him is great but I don't even know if he wants me near him.
"I was like an obedient pup for a day, Calhoun. But when I figured you had what's mine, you became my enemy," Theodore wipes his mouth with the back of his hand and shoots Calhoun a pitiful look.
"The only way I'll let you live is if you turn around and leave, and never show yourself again." Although there's fear surging through me, I can't help but notice how warmth manages to slip in. Calhoun is trying to let him go. He's just too good to be real, that I curse myself inwardly for keeping things away from this man.
"It's too late, Calhoun. You already agreed to grant my wish, remember?" My second mate looks rather amused than scared shitless. He's not willing to back out.
"No!" My wolf makes me yell when Calhoun raises his fist to hit Theodore. She doesn't want Theodore to get hurt.
In a rush, I clamp my hand over my mouth, recoil, and step backward because Calhoun is staring at me with so much hurt in his eyes.
Just fuck! He thinks it's me when it's
not.
I need to get out of here before things leap from bad to worse.
My wolf is trying to control me for the first time in a long while, and it's because of my two mates.
Can the evening get any worse for me?
Calhoun's fist is trembling because it's
still halfway near Theodore. He's
ticking his jaw.
"And I can't wander about, upon knowing I am mated to your wife. And
she fucking knows it too. She feels the connection. Believe me when I say our mate bond is more powerful than nything you can ever nagine. Her body yearns for mine," Theodore stops talking, only to laugh like a maniac
and shake his head at my husband. In order to irk him further.
Calhoun growls and slams his fist into the floor behind Theodore's head instead.
"Calhoun..." My voice is shaky when I
call out to him, but my legs aren't moving because I am so scared of him right now.
"The bond cannot be severed, whether
you're married to her or you have a child with her."
The next minute, deadbeat groans are coming from Theodore, and it's enough to give out that he's getting punched by Calhoun.
He couldn't hold it any longer. He
wanted to let Theodore go,
but
Theodore ended up pushing and activating his anger buttons. Putting my hands on my waist, I stare
at the sky and bite down on my bottom
lip to keep from screaming so loudly.
I badly want this to be a dream, because I am mostly at fault too. I kept everything away from Calhoun and now it all escalated to this.
And he's still hitting and kicking the
man on the floor. No one even bothers to stop Calhoun, they let him beat
Theodore as much as he wants.
Something which is making my stomach churn.
Aiden's loud and hiccuping cries start
ringing out. He's only 8 months old, but it's his first time seeing his father getting violent.
Cynthia turns him away from the
scene, but it just makes him cry even harder. Calling out to Calhoun in the only word he can. Dada.
"Are you done, Calhoun?" Theodore
chuckles after coughing out blood
when Calhoun pauses to catch his breath. Theodore's whole face is messy from the bruises Calhoun gave to him.
"Now, it's my turn," before anyone can grasp what he's trying to imply, his cocked fist connects with Calhoun's jaw. My heart jumps in my chest when
Calhoun staggers two feet back and clenches his jaw. Theodore quickly jumps back on his feet, as if he deliberately let Calhoun
do as he pleased with him, only to prepare himself to strike even harder.
And he shifts into his large wolf and dives at Calhoun. The impact causes a collision of Calhoun's body against the iron chairs at our side.
My heart is pounding so hard in my chest that it's the only thing I can hear.
All the Boise from the background is fading away. The audience is watching like the fight between my two mates is more interesting than the just concluded pack run. Calhoun's men are shifting and fighting with Theodore, but he seems even stronger than them.
Bruce on the other hand is trying to
restrain Calhoun from going ahead to attack Theodore.
"Give me what's mine," My second
mate growl at my husband after shifting. The wolf of his face is
smeared with blood like a beast.
"You wish for death, Theodore Fitzgerald," Calhoun pushes his beta away from him and approaches Theodore once more.
It's just so wrong that they're fighting
for my sake, and I can't do anything to stop them. Just standing aside, unmoving. My mouth feels heavy, I can't speak. "Being an Alpha doesn't make you
stronger than me. My wolf is a unique
kind, that's why it's twice the size of everyone's," Theodore says with an air of confidence. The first set of Calhoun's men are currently at his feet, injured and groaning.
"I will take what's mine," Theodore suddenly changes his direction from Calhoun and starts heading my way.
his
"Protect Kristen! Don't let him come near her!" Calhoun commands men and shifts, before hurrying to lunge at Theodore again.
"Fucking stop!" I yell, when the
guards surround me, with Bruce leading.
Aiden is still crying from where he's
being held by Cynthia, and I can feel my body shivering so hard.
"Stop fighting over me, please!" I direct this to both Calhoun and Theodore's wolf. But they don't even look in my direction.
The whole place is disarrayed from the fight.
My husband's wolf cannot measure up
to the size of my second mate, but he's
an Alpha and so he's relentless in
fighting Theodore's wolf who has
already given him way too many bruises.
"Someone, stop them!" I outcry when
I see Theodore's wolf biting Calhoun's wolf so hard that Calhoun's wolf breaks out in a howl.
I try to break past the men guarding
me, but they're too powerful. "Let me out!" I slam my fist into their
bodies, but they still remain in their position, not even budging.
It's the first time I am seeing Calhoun's wolf look this weak. Like he's gradually giving into death.
"My husband needs me, please let me go to him," Sobs are already tearing through my throat as I make this plea.
But his men aren't even listening to
me.
And when Theodore's wolf steps away from Calhoun with his bloody mouth, Calhoun's wolf drops to the ground,
and the blood pouring from the bite marks is enough to fill a gallon. "Calhoun!" My husband's name erupts
from my mouth through a strangled
scream.
The growl from Theodore's wolf is
enough to send them running away, leaving me just alone. They're so scared of him that they cannot stand and try to protect me, their Luna. "What are you doing?" I ask, but he
doesn't respond, instead he starts walking slowly towards me, as if counting his steps.
"Get away from me," I sneer, upon
feeling my whole body vibrate with so
much hate for this man.
He dared to hurt Calhoun.
This time, his wolf is taking menacing steps towards me.
Turning around, I take my heels in fear.
But it's too late.
Theodore's wolf catches up with me and throws me over his back.
"Save our Luna!" Bruce hurriedly directs this order to the remaining
men, before transforming into his wolf
and pursuing us.
But Theodore's wolf is faster in
running. His one gallop equals four of
Bruce's.
Not willing to let Theodore take me
away because I need to go to my dying husband, I jump from his back and shift, with the aim of running.
But because his wolf is five times
larger than mine, he captures me again. With his mouth this time.
My wolf winces in pain, because his
fangs are stuck right in her flesh to restrain her from escaping. And I am
getting affected too.
Screams fill the air when Theodore's
wolf makes his exit through the audience. People are running,
divulging from this dreadful wolf
who's kidnapping their Luna.
In defeat, I accept the fate of my second mate kidnapping me.
No one can come to my rescue now.
My husband is half dead and none of
his men can measure up to this beast,
Theodore.
