Chapter 152 Theodore

Chapter 152 Theodore

Theodore's POV
A few minutes earlier.
I've heard about Calhoun, the rumors of him being an unusually generous man. How he goes out of his way to help thousands of people rise to their feet.
Men envy him.
Women admire him.
Children adore him.
So, when my blind sister and I got kicked out of our pack due to our late dad's unmeasurable debts, I knew the Greyhound pack was the only option we had left. We let our wolves do the running for thirty hours, past several other packs, until we reached the Greyhound pack at midnight.
At first, they thought we were intruders, his men fought with me upon knowing my sister and I were rogues. Right until we were held captive and then someone called the attention of Calhoun who arrived with his beta.
It was my first time seeing the most talked about Alpha in the East, he looked exactly the way he was described.
At first, he was skeptical when I told him the truth about my identity but when he saw my sister, Georgina, he took pity on us and accepted us into the Greyhound pack. Provide food and shelter for us right in his home.
Still, I wasn't settled with it all. The need to present him with a gift was in my mind the whole day, and so when it hit dawn, I left even when I didn't know anywhere around the Greyhound pack.
Luckily, I found a mall with a lot of people heading in and out.
I borrowed a guitar from a scrawny, old, wolf-less man and told him I'd give him a 40% share of the money if people liked the way I played my guitar and offered me money out of
admiration.
And when the old man agreed to this, I found a spot to sit on and play my guitar.
People enjoyed this the way I predicted and shoved more than enough money into the empty coffee cup.
One would wonder why I never did this to fend for myself and my blind sister, but the thing is, the Greyhound members are less harsh and hateful, unlike the pack where I come from. And I want to find a way into Calhoun's good side, so he would let
me stay in his pack and even work for him. So, what I had in mind for Calhoun was a gift.
Until I saw her.
And everything else didn't matter.
The moon goddess, bless her, decided it was time I had a mate even though I
was poor.
The girl was petite, breathtakingly stunning even though she was wearing a cardigan over her denim trousers and boots. Her hair was pulled into a messy bun, and she seemed way too confident for her own good.
My fingers on the strings of the guitar stopped moving, as my heart thudded in my chest painfully.
And people began murmuring amongst themselves because I was so engrossed with the guitar until she made her presence known.
The complaints around me distract me
for a few seconds and when I return my gaze to her, I see her frozen in her spots, staring at me with bulging hazel eyes.
And my heart thuds in my chest again. Because she knows
She is aware we're mated to each other.
Quickly, she turns away and starts heading in a different direction..and I
knew I couldn't let her out of my sight. It's not even about my emotions because, at this point, I don't even know how I feel. But our mate bond is
way too powerful, and she's trying to put some distance between us.
So, I abandon the guitar and everything else, including the cup of money, ignoring the persisting voice of the scrawny old man, just so I can go after my mate.
Present
I don't even know her name but the
connection is undeniable when we lock eyes, after I prevent her from falling, due to her ill-judged movement.
Her lips part and let out sharp breaths,
as she blinks unusually.
Call me insane but the urge to get lost
in her lips is powerful.
I don't know her, this is the first time we're seeing each other, but the attraction for her is undeniable. In
fact, it keeps increasing with each moment I get to spend with her.
After a few seconds, she seems to have
come to her senses because she quickly pushes me away from her, and stares
around as if she's afraid she's getting watched by some people.
"Stay away from me," she threatens
me with a glare. But fails at it, because
she looks even adorable even when
pissed.
"You know I can't," Pushing my hands
through my pockets, I join her once more, as she heads into the mall.
"Listen to me if you don't want to die untimely," The girl turns to face me with a firm expression.
And instead of taking her seriously, a snort rolls from my chest.
"Don't tell me your father is a tyrant," I pull her back through her cardigan, upon sensing she's about to walk away from me again.
Offended, she turns to me with flared nostrils but soft eyes.
"I am warning you," She grits. "Or is it your boyfriend?" I am curious
to know why she seems too confident. "Do not tamper with fire, Theodore," there's a pitiful look on her face when she lets this out.
But she just called my name, and it
surges waves of satisfaction through
me.
You know my name,"
"Of course, I overheard someone say it.
||
"And you're?"
"It doesn't matter, leave me alone."
My mate turns away from me and nears the gondola shelves where diapers are out on display. She's trying
to reach out for one which seems to be out of her reach, but it's impossible because she's not very tall. Rolling my eyes in their sockets, I grab
the exact diaper she wants and this directs her attention back to me.
Is she out here to get a diaper for her niece, or probably even younger brother?
I can't help but notice the way people
aren't walking anymore. They're standing and waiting for this girl to
walk past them, and it's just confusing.
While she smiles and gives them a little wave.
Even the mall's manager approaches
us, ignores me, and shifts his attention
to my mate.
"It's such an honor to have you here,
Luna," he's full of smiles as he addresses her.
Wait a minute, Luna? Did I even hear
him correctly?
"Thank you," my mate mirrors his
expression.
"I must say you're doing really great as a young mother, how's our young Alpha doing by the way?" The man
continues.
"Aiden is fine, takes after his father," my mate's voice is more audible than
before, her gaze fixed on me, And this is just the last straw. She's a mother!?
