Chapter 25

"That can't be true. My mom died and my father abandoned me" I said shaking my head in disbelief.

"Katarina was not your mother and that asshole of a boyfriend of hers wasn't your father. She stole you from us the day after you were born" she said taking a step towards me, in which I took one step back.

"You're lying. This can't be true" I shook my head in disbelief, refusing to believe what she was saying.

"It's the truth. Your father and I had been searching for you for years and now you're finally home" she said with a smile, her eyes filled with unshed tears.

"I know it will take some time for you to see the truth, but know that we mean no harm. When we heard that you were kidnapped by that bastard, we knew we had to get you out of there where he won't be able to hurt you anymore" this time it was the man claiming to be my father that spoke.

"Hurt me? You killed him!" I exclaimed on the brink of tears.

"You are willing to defend that bastard that kept you from your own father?" he asked confused.

Now I was confused.

Did Emilio know that he was my father? And if he did, is that why he kept me alive?

Just then someone else entered the room. He looked familiar.

Where have I seen him before?

Then it hit me. He was the guy that I seduced in Italy.

Alessandro Dmitry.

"You!" he shouted, storming in my direction.

Boris stopped him with a hand and told him to calm down.

"Alessandro, meet your sister Masha" Boris introduced him to me.

Sister?

He was my brother?

I made out with my fucking brother!?

I felt sick. I can't believe that I had let my brother touch me like that.

"Si-sister" he stuttered in shock.

"Yes. Have you guys met before?" he asked confused.

"No" we both shouted at the same time.

Well, that was not suspicious at all. I just hoped nobody would ask any more questions.

"You must be hungry" Irina changed the subject, leading me to the kitchen.

"So, I know you must have a lot of questions" she smiled.

"How come you didn't find me sooner if you knew that I was kidnapped? Huh? Obviously, you knew where I was before that, so why now?" I asked.

"It's complicated" was her reply.

"Complicated? So, you knew where I was and never came for me, you let me have to suffer all by myself" I snapped.

"It's not like that"

"Then what is it? Huh?" I asked frustrated with their vague replies.

"We wanted to protect you from this world, but when we realized that you were already kidnapped into it, we decided that it was better if you were here with us. You have to understand that we were trying to protect you" she tried to reason with me, but I wasn't having any of it.

"I don't want to hear your lame excuses. Save it for someone who wants to hear it"

"Can I go home now?" I asked, wanting to leave this place.

If they truly were my parents then they would adhere to my wishes.

"No. You're not going anywhere. Take her to her room" Boris told one of his men that were in the room.

The man came up behind me, grabbed my hands in one of his large ones and then proceeds to drag me out of the room.

"You can't keep me here against my will!" I screeched as I struggled against the man's strong hold.

"Oh, but darling, I can keep you here for as long as I like. Lock her in her room" Boris said with a wicked smile on his face.

Gone were the kind smiles that were on these people that claim to be my parents. Even if they were my parents, I would never consider them family. No parent would do this to their daughter.

"Let me go" I shouted as I tried to break free.

Passing by Alessandro, he had a smirk on his face as he watched them drag me away.

I was being held captive again, but the only difference was that these people claimed to be my parents.

I was thrown in a room and the door was locked behind me. I ran up to the door and bang on it.

"LET ME OUT" I shouted over again and again until my limbs grew exhausted.

I slid down the door sobbing. I was a prisoner once again and I had just lost someone I didn't even have the chance to get to know.

Just a few hours ago I thought that my life was finally looking up and then this happened. I was tired of this. I tired of all the lies, tired of being held against my will, just tired of it all.

Now that I had the chance to sit down and think about it, I could see the resemblance between me and those horrible people. I had my mother's brown hair and my father's hazel eyes. They were Russians, so did that make me a Russian.

I thought back to a time when I had confronted the woman that I knew as my mother about the lack of resemblance.

Six Years Ago I had just arrived from school when I decided to confront my mother. My friends’ thoughts that it would be a good idea to ask if I was adopted; since I didn't look a thing like my mom.

I had read books and watched movies and saw how other teenagers found out that they were adopted. That was how my friends and I came to the conclusion that the most plausibly reason for me not sharing any similar features and interests of my mom, was because I was adopted.

So here I was walking towards the kitchen with my heart pounding, afraid of the answer I might get.

"Mom, am I adopted?" I got straight to the point. There was no use beating around the bush.

"Of course not. What gave you that ridiculous idea?" she asked in that soothing motherly voice.

"It's just that we don't look anything alike" I said embarrassed.

"Hey, hey, hey. There's nothing to be embarrassed about. Sweetheart, not everyone shares similar features from both parents" she answered with what looked like guilt or fear in her eyes.

I just shook it off and gave her a hug not bothering to question her any further. I know that any topic pertaining to my father brought a sadden look to her face, so I dropped the subject.

The rest of the evening was spent with my mom and I doing some of my favorite things to get our minds off the conversation.

End of Flashback.

I curled up on the floor and cried, cried until I had no more tears left to cry. I got up off the floor and sat on the bed. I heard the door ratting and my body became alert ready to defend myself if I had to.

In walked Alessandro.

"What do you want?" I gritted out through clenched teeth.

"I came to finish what we started in Italy" he said with a smirk.

"You can't do that, I'm your sister" I said backing away.

"I don't know that for sure. For all I know my parents could have mistaken you for someone else" he said walking towards me.

"Please don't do this" I begged.

"Oh, but I didn't do this sweetheart. You did" he said with a smug look as he closed the distance between us.

I made a move to run and he grabbed me by my hair and pulled me back, shoving me onto the bed. He didn't give me time to recover as he got on me.

"Shah, I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I'm going to enjoy it" he said pinning my hands to the bed and straddling my waist.

"Please don't" I cried.

"Shah"

He began kissing my neck and this action made my stomach lurch as I threw up all over him.

"You bitch!" he exclaimed as he got off me.

He stormed out of the room, leaving me in a pool of my own throw up. I guess I was saved by throw up, which was really gross and smelt awful.

I got up slowly with shaky hands as I thought back to what would have happened if I hadn't thrown up. He would have probably raped me. I needed to get out of here.

I didn't feel safe here at all. At least when I was at Emilio no one forced themselves on me. Well, except Emilio, but that was consensual.

I got up slowly, my body shaking in fear as I looked around the room for a bathroom. After looking for a few minutes, I finally found it.

I went inside and got in the shower immediately still wearing my clothes. I sat on the floor and cried again.

I was rocking back and forth thinking about my life. Lately I had been throwing up in the mornings and I had no idea why.

I had never been happier for being sick in my entire life.

But why was I throwing up?

Was I?

Could I be?

No, no, no.

This was just food poising. I had sushi a few days ago and that must have been the reason for me being sick.

It had to be.
