Alessia’s POV
I remain in the sigil for a few minutes pulling back my power ,until it's laying dormant once more in the pit of my belly. Stepping out of the sigil the air feels lighter but my magic still lingers on my skin.
“Make sure you write down the spell and keep practicing.” She adds “Do not practice with magic, just silently until you cram it.”
I had already planned to do just that
I nod “ Thank you Indie, I will.”
Enya steps forward joining Indie in the outer protection circle. “Your power is manifesting faster than I had anticipated.” Her tone sounds neutral but I can sense an underlining tension beneath her words .
I keep a straight face but deep down inside I am annoyed. You have done all that you can to destabilize me and you have failed but I won't let you know that yet. As we leave the magic chamber, only one thought settles on my mind.
I dont think they are only just coaching me ,All this talk about magic wars makes me feel like they are preparing me. But what puzzles me is also their attempts at destabilizing me .You cannot want me to fight for you and then keep throwing tricks at me too .Make it make sense.
I am of the mind to- I dont get to finish as Enya and Indie both turn to me as if they are waiting for something.
I look back at them nonplussed “Sorry did you say something?”
“I was asking if you have got someone looking into your Mother's untimely death?”Enya asks her eyes filling with sadness.
My heart seizes with pain as If I was shot
So her feelings for my mum are genuine is just me they are on the fence about
My throat is closing up but I swallow the pain “I will have someone look into it thank you for the remainder” I whisper as I blink back my tears
She nods “Mara will fetch you during dinner, can you find your way to your room?” I tilt my head at them wondering if she has figures out the fact that I have an intern Map of the entire coven in my head since our first magic lesson.
I take a deep breath straightening my dress “Yes I can try and will ask for directions along the way of I get lost”
Enya seems satisfied with my response and Indie gives me a terse smile “See you around princess, remember Practice makes Perfect” I smirk oh I will practice all right, I must I dont want anyone of you catching me off guard ever again.
I give her a genuine smile though even though I have doubts about most of the high council members I am glad she turned out different from Orzo.
With that's the ladies both turn around disappearing quickly round the corner as I walk on towards my room.
I wonder what Alex has been up to since I left for my lesson, hopefully he has been staying out of trouble pausing my a passing window in the corridor near my room and I peek out. I am shocked to see the dark clouds outside. Time really does pass differently here very soon Mara will be knocking on our door to come for dinner and I will like to catch up with them Alex before then. Upon reaching my door I decide to check on them first I can hear voices from Lucas room smiling I walk towards the door and knock gently. I hear scrambling around as Angelica laughs and Lucas Voice wafts through the door
Who is there? I laugh let me play a trick on them
Changing my voice to a deeper more auktey female I answer “I am looking for Mr Luca I have a preposition for him.” I fall into a fit of giggles as everyone becomes silent behind the room
I am sure they are wondering if another trick is in motion
Dios this coven has turned us into something else
I really should not play this trick on them but I can't help it it's been so long since I just had fun and laughed
I am sure they will forgive me once they know its me
Still in a fit of giggles I raise my hand to knock again as bthe door is yanked open hard and Luca, Angelica and Alex meet my laughing gaze with wary expressions
I fall on my knees laughing
Gotcha! Tears fall down my eyes as Alex shakes his head and scooped me up like a baby carrying me inside. Angelica and Luca shaking their heads at me laughter crinkling up their eyes. Shutting th door quietly we walk back into the room.
Alex sits downon the sofa settling me on his thighs .I shiver in response mmmhh. “I take it your lesson today was better?”
Angelica settles on the edge of the bed and Luca joins her “Isn't it obvious since she had time to play a trick on us Angelica teases throwing a pillow at me as Alex catches it with his arm and deflects it to the side I wag my tongue at her.
Alex smirks pulling me closer to him “ Actually Indie was pretty cool, she taught me how to cast a spell to create a protective shield and how to reinforce it.” leaning into Alex I gaze into his smouldering eyes as he gives me a kiss on his cheek
“I missed you Cara mia...”My heart thuds in my chest, all of a sudden it feels like we are the only two people in the room. My skin tingles where our bodies meet, My pulse races.

Cheeks warming I snuggles into his chest “I missed you too Alex.” I whisper into his chest
All of a sudden Luca and Angelica are awfully quiet which is so unlike them, turning away from Alex I am about to ask them both a question when there is a knock on the door.
