Chapter 83
Third Person’s Point of View
As she greeted each guest, she noticed the tensions between some of the kingdoms and realized that the gathering storm was beginning to brew.
She watched as the Queen of the South, Selena, arrived with her entourage. Selena was known for her beauty, and she was wearing a gown of deep red, which accentuated her dark features. Her fiery red hair was styled in loose curls that flowed down her back, and she wore a gold necklace with a ruby pendant.
Sariya could sense Selena’s hostility towards her, but she put on a brave face and welcomed the Queen of the South.
“Welcome, Queen Selena. It is an honor to have you here,” Sariya said with a smile.
Selena smiled coldly in reply. “The pleasure is all yours, Queen Sariya,” she said, her voice dripping with contempt.
Sariya chose not to respond to Selena’s obvious disdain and let the Queen of the South make her way into the gazebo.
As the night wore on, the palace gardens were filled with the sound of music and laughter. The guests mingled and enjoyed the fine food and wine that had been prepared for them, all the while watching each other warily.
Sariya kept a close eye on Selena and her entourage, as she knew that the Queen of the South was a shrewd and cunning adversary. She had no doubt that Selena was plotting something, but she couldn’t be sure what.
As midnight approached, Sariya excused herself from the festivities and made her way to her private chambers. She had a feeling that the storm was about to break, and she wanted to be prepared.
As soon as she had closed the door to her chambers, Sariya saw a woman standing in the shadows. The woman was clad in a black cloak and hood, and her face was concealed. Sariya drew her sword, ready to defend herself.
“Who are you? "Sariya demanded.
The woman stepped forward, and Sariya saw that it was her old friend and ally, Lyra.
“Lyra, what are you doing here? "Sariya asked, putting down her sword.
“I’ve come to warn you, Sariya. The storm is brewing, and it’s coming fast,” Lyra said, her voice urgent.
“What do you mean? "Sariya asked, her brow furrowing in concern.
“I’ve been traveling through the kingdoms, and I’ve heard rumors. There are whispers of war and of alliances being formed against you. Selena is the one behind it; I know it,” Lyra said, her eyes flashing with anger.
Sariya felt a lump form in her throat. She had known that Selena was her enemy, but she had never thought that the Queen of the South would go so far as to try to start a war.
“What should I do? "Sariya asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Prepare yourself, Sariya. Gather your guardians and be ready to defend your kingdom. We’ll stand by your side; we always have and always will,” Lyra said, laying a hand on Sariya’s shoulder.
Sariya felt a surge of gratitude towards Lyra. She knew that she could always count on her dear friend and ally.
“Thank you, Lyra. I’ll do as you say. I’ll gather my guardians and be ready to defend my kingdom,” Sariya said, determination filling her voice.
As Lyra left, Sariya sat down to think. She knew that the coming days would be filled with uncertainty and strife, but she was determined to protect her kingdom and her people. The storm was coming, but she was ready to face it head-on.
As Demrah made her way through the forest, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up, and she felt a shiver run down her spine.
Ever since arriving at the gathering, Demrah has been on edge. There was a tension in the air that she couldn’t quite put her finger on, and it made her uneasy. It was as if the very elements were preparing for a storm.
As she walked, Demrah noticed that the trees were swaying gently, even though there was no wind. The sky was cloudless, yet the air was damp and heavy. It was as if the very earth was waiting for something to happen.
Demra quickened her pace, eager to return to the safety of the encampment. She had a feeling that she wasn’t the only one who felt the gathering storm. She knew that her fellow queens and goddesses were on alert as well.
When she arrived at the encampment, Demra was met with a flurry of activity. The goddesses were preparing for battle, sharpening swords, and polishing armor. The Queens were meeting in council, discussing strategy and tactics.
Demra joined her fellow queens, taking her place around the table. She listened intently as the others spoke, taking in their words and considering different possibilities.
It was clear that they were all worried about the impending storm, but they refused to let fear cripple them. They were determined to face whatever was coming head-on.
As the meeting broke up, Demra made her way to the armory. She had always been impressed by the weapons that the goddesses used. They were finely crafted and imbued with magic, making them deadly against any foe.
She found her own weapon—a longsword that had been passed down through her family for generations. It was a sturdy weapon, and Demra had practiced with it since she was a child.
As she lifted the sword from its resting place, Demra felt a surge of power run through her. She knew that this weapon would help her in the coming battle.
Demra left the armory and made her way to the outskirts of the encampment. She looked out at the horizon, searching for any signs of the storm that was coming.
Suddenly, she heard a sound that chilled her bones. It was a low rumble, like thunder in the distance. But there was no storm overhead.
Demra drew her sword, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that this was it. The storm was coming.
As the rumble grew louder, Demra saw movement on the horizon. Dark shapes were moving towards the encampment, slowly but surely.
Demra called out to her fellow queens, alerting them to the impending attack. The alarm was sounded, and the goddesses took up their positions, ready to defend their home.
The dark shapes grew closer, revealing themselves to be a horde of monsters. There were trolls, goblins, and other foul beasts that Demra couldn’t even name.
The goddesses met the horde head-on, brandishing their weapons and unleashing their magic. Demra was at the center of the battle, her sword flashing as she cut down any creature that came too close.
The horde was relentless, but the goddesses fought with all their might. They knew that they had to protect their home, no matter what the cost.
As the battle raged on, Demra felt a sudden surge of power. She looked down at her hands, surprised to see that they were glowing with a bright light.
She realized that the sword had imbued her with magic, giving her strength and speed beyond her wildest dreams. With renewed vigor, Demra fought harder than ever before, cutting down creature after creature.
As the battle continued, Demra noticed that the sky was growing dark. It was as if the storm had finally arrived, but it wasn’t overhead. It was moving towards the encampment.
Demra knew that they had to end this battle quickly before they were caught in the storm. She rallied her fellow Queens, urging them to fight harder and faster.
The goddesses responded to Demra’s call, doubling their efforts. Together, they fought with all their might, holding off the horde at every turn.
Finally, the creatures began to falter. They were no match for the combined strength of the goddesses. Demra watched as they retreated into the woods, defeated and broken.
As the last of the creatures disappeared into the trees, Demra looked up at the sky. The storm had arrived, and it was unlike anything she had ever seen before.
The clouds were dark and foreboding, pulsing with lightning and thunder. The wind was fierce, whipping through the trees and tearing at anything in its path.
Demra knew that they had to take shelter fast. She called out to her fellow goddesses, urging them to take cover.
Together, they retreated to a nearby underground bunker, sealing the entrance behind them. The air was thick and damp, and the space was cramped, but it was better than facing the storm head-on.
As they waited for the storm to pass, Demra couldn’t help but think about what they had just faced. It was clear that the darkness was growing stronger, and the creatures they had just fought were only the beginning.
Demra knew that they had to prepare for what was coming next. She couldn’t shake the feeling that the worst was yet to come.
