Chapter 127

Duncan

"What do you mean she isn't here?" I bellowed.
Levi glanced at Sabrina.

"What? I didn't do anything." She said, " I have no idea where she is. I was busy with a client upstairs. The one you sent me after this morning."

"You're telling me neither of you know where Anna is?" I asked again, this time with a deliberate, faux kindness.

Levi shook his head, a remorseful look on his face which is surprising, considering he didn't like Anna very much.

Just then, Estonia spoke.
"She did say she was going out on a date tonight,"

My eyes darkened and my body stiffened.
"What did you say?" my voice was low as I spoke. I was doing everything to reign in my temper but I could already feel my wolf's restlessness beneath the surface, clawing to unleash its wrath.

"Well, she said she was going out on a date tonight..." Estonia answered, shifting on her feet.

"And you let her?"

Estonia glanced at Levi in confusion.
"I didn't know I was supposed to not let her. She said you were both not speaking anymore."
A humorless laugh escaped my lips.

"You are all useless. She was kidnapped just a few weeks ago. You were supposed to be protecting her and you're telling me you can't find her? What?

Estonia flinched at my outburst, but I didn't care. My chest heaved, my claws threatened to tear through my skin, and my wolf paced furiously inside me. The idea of Anna, out there with another man made me ferral

"Duncan, this is my fault. I should have been paying attention to her but..."

"You have no excuse, Levi. You have none," I yelled.
"Find her, I don't care where you have to go, find her or else..." I left the words hanging, it was enough to let them know just how much danger they were in if they didn't bring back my woman.

Levi wasted no time in leaving the club.

"Estonia, do you have any idea who this date of hers is?
She shook her head.
"All I know is that she went out on a date,"

I groaned.

"Maybe Viktor would know,"

I frowned.

"And why would he?"

"Well, he usually flirts with her... Also I saw a car that looked like his, drive her away but I couldn't be sure..."

"Why didn't you say so in the first place?" I snapped. Was I surrounded by idiots?
When I had landed and forth to iron Vine, Anna's room was the first place I went to. I was going to apologize and try to win her back but she wasn't there. And when I had asked the guards, they said she was in rose velvet. Imagine my shock when nobody had seen her all night.

It was no secret that Viktor had the hots for Anna but he was respectful enough to not go after her since he knew she was mine.

"Uh I wasn't sure and I didn't want Viktor in trouble."

"Y'all are useless. Every single one of you!" I shot at her.

"Get Matteo to bring the car out front. We are going to Viktor's apartment,"

Estonia nodded and made her way to Matteo.

The drive to Viktor's apartment felt like a blur, a haze of burning rage and rising panic. I sat in the backseat, fists clenched so tightly my claws had pierced skin. Blood dropped onto my pants, but I didn't care. Matteo didn't speak. He knew better than to.

I had no idea why but I could feel Anna, she was scared an trembling.
God, if Viktor did anything to her, I was going to rip him apart. Solidarity be damned. He knew not to go after what was mine.
Of course, her being with him was the best case scenario of the situation.
If she was somewhere else...

"Faster," I growled.

"Yes, Alpha."

Estonia sat stiffly beside me, wringing her hands. I could feel her guilt pulsing in waves, but it didn't matter. None of it mattered until I saw Anna

Fear gripped my chest and I groaned in pain. It wasn't my own emotions. It was Anna's and it was intense.

She was in trouble. Big trouble.

"Step on it Matteo!" I yelled, more and more agitated as the seconds passed. I was going crazy with Anna's fear and confusion and sadness.

"Are you okay?" Estonia asked after a while of watching me groan in pain.

"No, Anna is in trouble," I gritted out. Her feelings were so intense that I was finding it difficult to separate my own feelings from her.

"How do you know? You really think Viktor would hurt her?"

"I feel it,' I gritted out, feeling her dear wash over me.

"Wait... you marked her?" Estonia's eyes widened.

"Glad your deductive reasoning isn't so bad, Ahhhh,"

"Shit. Why would you mark her?" she asked in disbelief.

"Just shut up, Estonia,"

"We are here, sir." Matteo said as he parked in front of Viktor's apartment building.

I stumbled out of the car and made my way to the front desk.

"Sir," A blonde I didn't recognize Said.
I ignored her and walked into the elevator. Estonia followed behind me

"Sir, we can't just..." the elevator door closed before she could finish her statement.

The elevator door opened and I made my way to Viktor's door.

The door was already opened and not in a gentle way. The hinges were barely hanging on and the door was only being held up by the barely there hinges.

I pushed the already opened door aside and walked in to find the entire place in disarray.

I smelled Anna instantly.

"Anna!" I called out but no answer.

My voice bounced off empty walls. The scent of her fear still lingered, sharp and suffocating. Broken glasses littered the floor, and a chair was overturned, signs of a struggle. My heart pounded against my ribs.

"She's been taken," I growled, fangs threatening to pierce my lower lip.

Estonia hovered behind me. "God's, Duncan..."

I walked towards Viktor's room. The door had been busted in.

"If Viktor had touched her... I was going to kill him and then I saw Viktor.

He was lying on the floor, a bullet to the head and eye... He wasn't healing. He was dead.

"What the fuck?" Estonia cursed her accent thick.

"I don't understand, What happened?"
I questioned, staring at Viktor's dead body.

How did he die?

Then I heard a sound close to his closet and then Anna's smell seeped through my nostrils.

I stormed towards the closet and there she was, shaking, scared out of her mind.

A sharp pain sliced through my chest as I saw her in the state she is in

Her mouth was taped with duct tape and she was crying.
My heart broke into a thousand pieces.

Slowly, I bent down and picked her up from the closet and hugged her to my chest.

"You're okay, now. I'm here." I hugged her tightly, taking in her scent. Goodness, I had missed her.

She let me hug her. Well, she didn't have a choice, she was tired but I could tell she was happy to see me.

Slowly, I peeled the duct tape from her lips.

"Duncan," her voice cracked.

"It's okay, I'm here now, my love. I'm here for you,"
