Chapter 104
Anna
"His name is Azael," I sighed.
"Do you know what he looks like? I can get a sketch artist to get him on paper" Tim said as he overtook a lorry.
"No, that won't be necessary. I plan on working with them." I replied with a heavy sigh.
Tim let out a sigh. We were on our way to Alice and I was telling him about Azeal again and all of the things he'd said to me.
"Goodness, you are going to give me a heart attack, Anna." Tim groaned as he turned a corner.
"I know and I'm sorry but it has to be done. This is my chance to find out about where I come from. He knows about my mother , Tim and my father. I have to give them what they want and soon. This is my chance, I can't waste it,"
"But why Italy? Why couldn't they attack you here?" Tim asked after a few moments of silence.
"I have no idea. All I know is that this is my chance to find out about who I truly am and I can't pass it up,"
Tim looked visibly sick. He didn't like this. I could also see that he was afraid and was simply trying to mask it. There was worry, no fear in his eyes and I couldn't blame him.
I'd be stupid if I said I wasn't scared myself
But I had come too far and I was not about to give up. I was no coward either.
Fear would have to relax for a bit.
By the time we got to Alice's town, it was noon and the sun was blazing hot with a particularly angry streak.
"Are you sure she's here?" Tim glanced around what looked like an abandoned building. The once manicured garden now looks overgrown.
The grass was now overgrown and the place looked like it had not been inhabited for months.
"I am." I nodded.
Tim glanced around and then shrugged
"Alright," he sighed qnd closed his car door. "Let's go check it out,"
I took the lead, making my way to the door as I kept an wiw on my surroundings.
I didn't want to be taken by surprise again.
I climbed up the porsche, noting a few scorch marks on different parts of the ground.
I swallowed, wondering what had happened here.
"You see that?" I glanced back at Tim, pointing at the scotch marks and broken bottles on the floor.
"Knock," he said, taking out his gun.
The image of Duncan getting shot assaulted my mind and the realization that hadn't killed him scared me. If there were any werewolves around here, we would be as good as dead..
I knocked and waited for an answer but there wasn't any.
"Try again," Tim gestured, his eyes darting from side to side. He was on hyper alert.
I knocked again and waited for an answer but nothing.
An intense feeling of fear caught me. What if something had happened to her? What if the men that killed her mother had gotten to her.
Shit
"I knew you'd be back." A familiar voice said from behind and I almost jumped out of my skin.
I turned around and standing just a couple feet away from me was Alice, holding what looked like a bouquet of hibiscus.
"Alice! You're alive," I ran up to her, hugging her tightly.
"Aww, someone's happy to see me," she chuckled.
"You have no idea," I gushed. I had no idea why I even hugged her. It was very uncharacteristic of me. But something has pushed me to.
I let go of her for a second and she looked over at Tim and waved.
"I see you brought your handsome friend along," Alice mouthed.
"Here you go..." Alice smiled , handing me a cup of tea before taking her seat beside me on her couch. She'd changed her couch. In fact the whole interior seems to be in much better shape than the exterior.
"So, why are either of you here?" She asked, looking between me and Tim. "I didn't expect to see you so soon ."
"You were right," I said
"Well, yes. I always am but why am I right this time?" She asked, taking a sip of her own tea.
"I found out about the existence of werewolves," I let my words hang in the air.
Alice grinned.
"Is that so?" She was all too happy to hear the news which made me even more scared of her.
What exactly was she?
"Yes."
"I'm guessing you want information on them?" she asked, bringing her mug of tea up to her lips and taking a sip.
"Yes, exactly," I nodded. "That's why we are here,"
"What would you like to know?"
She asked. "But first, tell me... how did you find out about this?"
I stared at her with raised brows. "What?"
"How you found out about this and your reaction," she was all too eager to hear about it. I wasn't particularly sure why it mattered.
"Is that relevant?" Tim was the one to ask, speaking my mind without me having to say anything.
"Well, uh, no but I'd love to hear about it anyway. I'm sure it's pretty interesting,"
I rolled my eyes and Tim chuckled.
"So, this is for entertainment then?"
"Ah, this is exactly why I like you so much, You get it,"
Tim grinned. He seemed to share the same sentiment as her which for the most part made no sense to me.
"Alright, once you are done flirting, can we get back to the issue at hand?" I asked, crossing my arms.
The humor in her eyes dimmed a bit and she nodded.
"Alright, alright. But I still want to know what happened.
My eyes met with Tim and he nodded.
I'd have to trust someone eventually and Alice was so far the only one I could trust.
"He got shot when we were both in Venice together."
"Who? Your Mafia boyfriend?"
"Uh, yeah," I nodded, wondering how she knew about him. Did I tell her about it and just didn't remember?
"Was it a work or pleasure get away,"
"It doesn't matter," I gritted out.
"Right, right. I'm sorry, carry on."
She gestured.
"He got shot in the head. He was supposed to be dead but when the kidnappers returned me to him, he was alive with not a single bullet wound to be found. I asked him what he was and he showed me."
"Argh, I wish I could have been there!"
I didn't say anything. There wasn't anything to say.
"So, I'm assuming you broke up with him for lying to you?"
"No, I can't. Not until I get what I want from him."
Alice nodded in understanding.
"Alright then."
She said and took another sip of her tea. Tim took a sip of his drink for the first time.
Alice suddenly stood up from t
The couch and then waved her hands across the table.
A huge book appeared on the coffee table.
