Chapter 333 Another Word, and You'll Regret It

Scrolling through comment after comment, Dorian finally had enough.. "Amelia, seriously, just stop reading. These people are absolutely vicious."

But even with the vitriol pouring in, Amelia showed no trace of anger or defeat. "It's fine." She looked up, her expression calm.

"Even if only one person out of a hundred who sees this Instagram statement believes me—or at least starts to question whether Professor Lewis's situation is what they think it is—then it's worth it."

Dorian couldn't help herself. "So we're just supposed to sit here and do nothing? Letting these people trash you and call you names?"

Amelia paused. "Even if I posted another explanation, it wouldn't matter."

"The people who've already decided not to believe me? I could hand them solid proof and they still wouldn't accept it. They'd just find new angles to attack me from.

"So I've done what I can. Some people will actually read what I wrote. As for the rest?" She shrugged. "Let them rage. It doesn't actually cost me anything."

Dorian had to admit—Amelia's resilience was something else. If it were her in that position, she'd already be in the comments section tearing into every keyboard warrior she could find, probably giving herself an aneurysm in the process.

Amelia might have moved on, but everyone else was still worried.

Zander appeared first, having somehow caught wind of the situation. He came downstairs looking for Amelia, and within minutes, Tobias showed up too.

Amelia had barely finished giving them the rundown when one of the household staff appeared to announce a visitor—one of her classmates.

They all headed to the front hall together and found Leroy standing just inside the entrance.

He wore a white button-down and dark blue jeans, his features fine-boned, his demeanor as quiet as ever.

There were several people there to greet him, but his eyes found only Amelia, steady and unmistakably concerned. "I saw your Instagram post. Are you okay?"

Amelia could tell he was worried the comments might have gotten to her. "I'm fine. Come on in."

So this time, all five of them gathered in the living room—Amelia, Dorian, Zander, Tobias, and the newly arrived Leroy.

They were unanimous: the only way to turn this situation around was to track down whoever had made that post on Aurora College's internal forum and figure out whether the allegations of sexual harassment and attempted rape against Trevor were actually true.

If they were, then there was no reason to waste energy defending him. Someone who committed crimes like that deserved whatever consequences came his way.

But if the allegations were false, then someone was deliberately trying to destroy him—and with Trevor already in police custody, the police might not be able to track down the original poster. If they could find evidence first, all the better.

"The anonymous account's been deleted, and the post is gone too. Is there even a way to find who posted it?" Amelia looked at Leroy.

Leroy was a top-tier hacker. If he said it couldn't be done, it couldn't be done.

"I can get into Aurora College's forum backend, but once an account's deleted, I can't recover it from there." He hesitated. "I can try, though."

The collective sigh that followed said it all.

By late afternoon, Jenny had invited both Dorian and Leroy to stay for dinner.

Just after dark, the doorbell rang. Amelia and Zander exchanged a glance—they both knew it was Saul.

When Saul first walked in and saw Jenny, he seemed to be in decent spirits. He made small talk, kept things cordial.

But the moment he stepped into the dining room and spotted Amelia, his expression turned to stone.

"Jenny, what the hell is this?" His tone went ice-cold in an instant. "You told me you were keeping this Amelia locked in her room. Why is she sitting at the dinner table?"

Saul truly didn't consider Amelia worth acknowledging—he said it right to her face, as if she weren't even there.

He didn't care in the slightest how it would feel for Amelia to hear that Jenny had supposedly said such a thing.

"Saul, sit down. I need to ask you something." Jenny didn't waste words. She practically pushed him into a chair, her tone brooking no argument.

"Saul, I want the truth. Does this whole mess with Professor Lewis at Aurora College have anything to do with you?"

Saul clearly hadn't expected the question. Panic flickered across his face, though his voice stayed defiant. "What? What kind of ridiculous accusation is that? How could Trevor's problems have anything to do with me? Who's been feeding you this garbage?"

Amelia had expected exactly this reaction.

She leveled her gaze at him. "Mr. Jenkins, are you absolutely certain Professor Lewis's situation has nothing to do with you?"

"Because I heard that last month, during the meeting to decide your promotion to Dean of Aurora College's Medical School, Professor Lewis voted against you. And—"

Before she could finish, Saul exploded. "Where the hell did you hear that, you little bastard? Who do you think you are, talking to me like this?"

"What, did you actually sleep with that old man Trevor to get your special admission? Is that it? Got so attached you're defending him now? Of course—what else would you expect from the daughter of a whore, you little—"

The moment the word "bastard" left Saul's mouth, the temperature in the room plummeted. Jenny, Zander, and Tobias all went rigid. Even Dorian and Leroy's expressions darkened.

Tobias's hands balled into fists. He was half out of his seat when suddenly, a vase came hurtling through the air straight at Saul.

Saul caught a blur of movement in his peripheral vision and jerked his head to the side on pure instinct.

The vase skimmed past his cheek and exploded against the wall behind him with a sharp, violent crack. Shards scattered across the floor.

When he realized what had just flown past his head, Saul sucked in a breath, a cold sweat prickling down his spine.

If he'd been a split second slower, that vase would have cracked his skull open. He would've been lying there bleeding out.

Everyone else, Amelia included, was frozen in shock.

Before anyone could react, a figure in a black hoodie stepped into the dining room—Ryan, the blue diamond stud in his right ear glinting like a shard of ice.

So Ryan had thrown the vase.

"Ryan? You....you—" Saul stammered, pointing a shaking finger at him, his face a mask of disbelief.

"Uncle." Ryan stood there, his expression blank, but his eyes burned with something cold and dangerous. "If you ever call my sister a bastard again, I guarantee you won't walk out of the Martinez family's house on your own two feet."

He lifted his gaze, his voice perfectly calm. "If you don't believe me? Go ahead and try."
