Chapter 90 Amelia Is Definitely Angry!
"Ryan?"
The name echoed through the venue, and the place erupted into chaos.
Ryan, the biggest star in the entertainment industry, was dominating film, television, and music. He was also the youngest actor in Celestria to win an Oscar.
He was so handsome it was almost unfair, with a huge fanbase. Just a playful lift of his enchanting eyes could make countless fans scream uncontrollably.
Rachel's eyes sparkled with excitement.
It was Ryan! Ryan had actually come to the venue; he must be here to watch her perform!
Rachel had always thought that out of the five brothers in the Martinez family, besides Tobias, Ryan treated her the best.
Even though Ryan only came back to the Martinez Mansion a few times a year, every time he did, he would bring her gifts and ruffle her hair with a gentle smile.
Ryan being a top star in the entertainment industry was like something out of a novel, which had earned Rachel plenty of prestige in the aristocratic circles.
Many distinguished women had approached her just to get Ryan's autograph, and whenever she asked him for one, he always obliged.
And today, Ryan had shown up at the venue without even a word of notice.
Ryan must be planning to surprise her!
Everyone immediately forgot about Rachel's earlier embarrassment and rushed outside to catch a glimpse of Ryan.
Rachel was thrilled, but she couldn't go looking for Ryan just yet. She had more important things to do.
"Uncle Saul," Rachel glanced around and then looked at Saul. "Uncle Saul, come with me for a moment. I have something to tell you."
Never mind the fact that Rachel had just been humiliated in front of her classmates.
Saul was a well-respected figure in Border Ridge City, always surrounded by admiration and respect. He had never been so embarrassed in public before; it was extremely awkward.
It turned out that the whole time, he had been deluding himself. This Osborne didn't even know who he was and hadn't even looked at the video of Rachel he sent.
Some world-class maestro.
Just a pianist, really.
And one moment he was dismissive of them, and the next he was all over that damn Amelia.
Amelia, who had only gotten into the competition by cozying up to some old man, might not even know how to play the piano.
And yet, Osborne was ignoring Rachel, who had won countless awards since she was a child, to befriend Amelia, who had never even entered a piano competition? Osborne must be blind!
Saul was so furious his face turned blue, barely restraining himself from losing his temper in front of Rachel's classmates.
As they moved to a corner, Saul's face was still grim. "Rachel, what do you want to talk about?"
Rachel looked around and, seeing no one nearby, whispered to Saul, "Uncle Saul, you know the people organizing the competition, right?"
Saul nodded. "Yes, I do. Why?"
"Well," Rachel's eyes darted around, "Uncle Saul, I heard that the order of the performances is arranged by the organizers. Can you ask them to put me on before Amelia?"
"Why?"
Saul didn't quite understand Rachel's request. "The scores are given right after each performance. Does it really matter if you go before or after Amelia?"
Of course it mattered!
Because she was going to perform the original piece she had stolen from Amelia's bag yesterday.
Rachel had decided to kill Amelia yesterday because that way, Amelia wouldn't show up at today's competition, and she could confidently use her piece.
But somehow, Amelia had shown up today, looking perfectly fine and had even made it to the venue.
If Amelia performed before her and played "Mich Drowning," what would she play then?
So she had to perform before Amelia.
Once she finished, Amelia would be up next. Hearing her own piece being played, Amelia would surely be too shocked and flustered to think straight.
All the contestants had already reported to the organizers whether they would be playing original or non-original pieces.
She had reported an original piece, and Amelia must have done the same.
She wanted to see what Amelia would do when she played Amelia's piece first. Amelia couldn't possibly compose a new piece on the spot and play it. If she couldn't play a single note, that would be truly embarrassing.
Rachel had only been embarrassed in front of her classmates, but Amelia would be embarrassed in front of the judges, the audience, and the entire internet.
Thinking about this, Rachel's earlier humiliation vanished, and she even started to look forward to it.
Saul had no idea what Rachel was thinking. He just assumed she wanted to perform before Amelia to overshadow her.
So Saul agreed. "Sure, the order doesn't matter much. I'll go arrange it."
"Thanks, Uncle Saul!" Rachel breathed a sigh of relief. "Uncle Saul, that Osborne was so rude to you earlier. I'll make sure to win the competition for you!"
Seeing his beloved Rachel being so considerate, Saul felt a lot better.
He patted Rachel's head, his eyes a mix of affection and a hint of malice. "Rachel, with your talent, winning this competition should be no problem. Let's see what that Osborne sees in Amelia."
Meanwhile...
Everyone from Class A had run off to see Ryan, and Rachel had pulled Saul into a corner. No one knew what they were discussing.
Only Amelia stayed put.
She had been with the Martinez family for days now, but she still hadn't met the entertainment superstar Ryan or the mysterious Zander.
But she would eventually.
Osborne had just exchanged a few pleasantries with Amelia when someone from the organizers asked him to return backstage. Amelia found a staff member and asked where Michael was.
The name Michael seemed to have been specially noted, as the staff member immediately pointed to the second floor. "Mr. Johnson is in the VIP reception room on the second floor, but..."
But that area was off-limits to others.
Amelia didn't wait for him to finish and turned to leave.
As she reached the VIP reception room, she heard a woman's voice call out, "Michael."
Amelia's brow furrowed.
Without hesitation, she pushed the door open.
Her eyes first met Michael's, then lowered to see Anna, nearly pressing herself against Michael, with her hand on his chest.
The Williams family's Anna?
Michael also locked eyes with Amelia first.
His expression hardened, and he quickly pushed Anna away.
In a flash, he noticed the exquisite rose brooch on Amelia's uniform, which hadn't been there before.
Had Mr. Bennett given it to her?
The air froze for two seconds.
Neither Amelia nor Michael spoke.
The sudden turn of events left Eric, standing nearby, dumbfounded.
He was about to explain for Michael when he saw Amelia's expressionless face. She glanced at Michael and Anna, then turned and walked out.
She just turned and walked out.
Eric thought in despair, It's over. Amelia definitely misunderstood, and judging by her expression, she is absolutely furious!
