Chapter 233 Online Relationship

Chapter 233 Online Relationship

The remark struck like a spark in tinder-dry grass. For a heartbeat, the people nearby simply stared, caught off guard by the sheer audacity of it. In real life, very few men declared themselves handsome without even a hint of irony. Yet the confidence in his voice made them turn toward the source.

Their eyes found the man lounging with one arm draped casually around Amelia. The moment they saw him, the air seemed to tighten. This... this was beyond handsome. It was surreal

He was young, tall, defined by the kind of lines sculptors dream of. There was an effortless nobility in the way he carried himself, as if he had been born into privilege. His long, lightly curled blond hair was tied back without care, revealing the clean line of his neck. A double-breasted coat, tailored to perfection, framed a silk shirt in muted gold. Black trousers fell in a precise fit over legs that seemed built to stride through the world without hindrance.

His nose was sharp, his brows slightly arched, his expression lazy yet watchful. And then there were his eyes—pale green, like gemstones hidden deep beneath the ocean's surface. The light caught in them, and for an instant, they seemed to hold the room.

He was gold-haired, green-eyed, his features carved with striking depth that spoke of mixed heritage. Every angle of his face was so precise it felt almost dangerous to behold. The lighting traced the edges of his cheekbones and jaw, turning them into something that could have been painted.

People around them forgot to breathe.

Before they saw his face, they had thought his self-praise was arrogance. Now, they realized that calling himself handsome was almost modest.

Even the woman who had been flaunting her fiancé a moment ago found herself staring at him, her earlier smugness dissolving into stunned silence. Her fiancé's brows drew together, irritation flickering in his eyes.

Amelia's first instinct was to pull away, her body stiffening under the weight of his arm. The casual "my girl" had been enough to make her fists clench, ready to push him away. But then she caught sight of his face and froze.

"Jasper?" she breathed.

The voice matched the one she had heard over the phone, smooth and familiar. The hair, the eyes... it was him.

She had never imagined Jasper like this. Of her five brothers—Michael, Asher, Leroy, and the others—all were striking in their own way. But this man's features were not only refined; they carried an aristocratic air that set him apart. She had pictured K, the owner of the underground fight club, as a broad-shouldered brawler with scars and a dangerous grin.

The reality was nothing like her imagination.

And those pale green eyes... they reminded her of Belle. The same soft waves in the blond hair, the same jewel-like gaze, the same sculpted elegance. Could it be coincidence?

"It's me," Jasper said as his smile curved easily as though her reaction amused him. He didn't seem the least concerned by her attempt to pull away.

"I should have given you a few details about my appearance. Letting you mistake someone else for me... that's my fault."

Around them, murmurs began to ripple. People were starting to realize that the accusation thrown at Amelia had been built on a misunderstanding.

"You... you two..." The woman who had accused Amelia faltered. She had been so sure Amelia was flirting with her fiancé, then lying about it. Now Jasper stood there, owning the moment, and she had nothing to say.

There were no visible logos on his clothes, but the cut and fabric screamed custom work. The watch on his wrist—its lowest model ran into seven figures—glinted under the lights. Her fiancé, beside Jasper, suddenly looked heavier, cheaper, ordinary.

"Ma'am," Jasper said, turning his gaze on her with a lazy smile. "Do you really think my girlfriend would be interested in your fiancé?"

The words cut sharper than any insult. His presence alone had already shifted the balance in Amelia's favor, but that line made the contrast brutal.

Color rose and fell in the woman's face. Amelia frowned. "Jasper."

She had no idea why he was calling her his girlfriend in front of strangers. She opened her mouth to protest, but he leaned down, his voice dropping low for her alone.

"She was cruel to you just now. As a friend, I'm simply giving her a taste of her own medicine."

He straightened, his eyes flicking back to the woman, one brow lifting in quiet challenge.

The woman could hear the whispers around her now. Her earlier confidence was crumbling, but she refused to retreat. "Wait. You say she's your girlfriend? Then why would she mistake someone else for you? If you're together, how could she not know what you look like? You're just covering for her, aren't you?"

She thought she'd found a crack in the story.

Jasper didn't blink. The smile stayed on his lips, his posture easy. "Online relationship. Haven't you heard of it? Today's our first time meeting in person. Is that so hard to believe?"
