Chapter 150
Chapter 150
The plane flew smoothly at over 30,000 feet.
This was a modified medical aircraft provided by the "Beacon" organization.
Inside the cabin was basically a small intensive care unit, equipped with all kinds of advanced medical equipment.
Jack lay on the hospital bed, his body filled with various tubes connected to the beeping vital signs monitor beside him.
After several hours of emergency treatment, his condition had temporarily stabilized, but he was still not out of danger.
Lucy had changed into clean clothes and sat by the bedside, keeping watch over him without leaving for a second.
She looked at Jack's bloodless face, her heart filled with mixed emotions.
At the other end of the cabin, Alex sat in front of a control panel made up of more than a dozen screens, his face showing an almost crazy excitement.
"Oh my god... oh my god... this is even more thrilling than watching a Hollywood blockbuster!"
He exclaimed incoherently while typing on the keyboard.
On the screens, headlines from major news media around the world were scrolling in real time.
[White Tower Foundation's Shocking Scandal! Internal Documents Leaked, Senior Management Involved in Massive Embezzlement and Private Armed Forces!]
[Colonel Ronan, the Mastermind Behind "Prometheus Capital," Confirmed Dead in Sinai Peninsula Conflict!]
[Europol and FBI Launch Full Investigation into White Tower Foundation, Multiple Board Members Arrested Worldwide!]
[White Tower Stocks Collapse Across the Board, Global Financial Markets in Violent Turmoil!]
Each news story was like a depth charge dropped into a calm lake, setting off huge waves across the globe.
The once mysterious and powerful White Tower Foundation had collapsed overnight.
"Did you see that, Lucy?" Alex spun his chair around and shouted excitedly, "We did it! We dragged those bastards who thought they were gods down from heaven!"
"Look at this!" He pointed to one of the screens. "These are White Tower Foundation's internal communications. It's total chaos now!"
"They're like a pack of mad dogs, all trying to blame everyone else! Ronan's former allies are the first to jump out and take credit for all his crimes!"
"And this!" He pointed to another screen. "The European Central Bank and the Federal Reserve joined forces and froze trillions of their assets! Those board members who were once richer than countries are now broke overnight!"
Alex got more and more excited.
He stood up and paced back and forth in the cabin.
"You know what the most ironic part is? It's Ronan!"
"He dreamed of breaking free from the Foundation's control and becoming the boss himself. In the end, he died without knowing that the 4.2 billion dollars he worked so hard to save, along with all his plans, became the spark that destroyed the entire Foundation!"
"He wanted to be king, but ended up smashing his own throne! Hahahaha! This is the biggest joke of the century!"
Lucy watched the excited Alex, but her face showed little emotion.
She walked to the control panel, looked at the constantly refreshing news, and asked quietly:
"What about Radiant Energy Group?"
Alex paused for a moment, then immediately pulled up the relevant information.
"Radiant Energy Group's stock price hit the daily limit right after the market opened today. Those board members who were bought off by Ronan have been detained by your company's internal security and handed over to the police."
"Your chairman sent you an email saying that when you get back, he'll let you take his position."
To become the top leader of Radiant Energy Group, this trillion-dollar business empire.
This had once been Lucy's lifelong dream.
But now, when this dream was within reach, there was no joy in her heart.
She turned her head and looked at the unconscious man on the hospital bed.
If it weren't for him, she might have already died in that estate in Zurich.
If it weren't for him, Radiant Energy Group might have already been swallowed by "Prometheus Capital."
If it weren't for him, she wouldn't be standing here safe and sound right now.
He had sacrificed so much for her.
"Alex." Lucy's voice was soft. "Where are we going now?"
"To Beacon's headquarters base in the Alps." Alex's smile faded, and his expression became serious. "That's where the world's best surgeons and the most advanced medical equipment are."
"Only there does Jack have a chance of surviving."
"Surviving..." Lucy repeated those words, a flash of determination in her eyes.
"He will."
He will definitely survive.
Because I still owe him a thank you.
And I owe him a brand new life without hatred.
The plane cut through the clouds, flying toward the depths of the snowy mountains.
