Epilogue - JAX

Epilogue - JAX
POV Jax:

Five Years Later

I never stopped being amazed at the feeling I had every time I slid inside her. The absolute perfection as her silky heat wrapped around me and squeezed. Tonight, her moans were silent. Our bedroom door was never locked or kept shut for long, but tonight, hidden in the bar’s office hours after it had closed, we were doing our best to enjoy the rare time alone.

“Fuck, yes,” she groaned, bent over the desk as I drove into her from behind. I pressed a hand over her mouth to muffle her cries and slid the other beneath her shirt to pinch her nipple. She squealed in response and clenched around me until I had to grit my teeth to keep from moaning.

The computer wobbled dangerously on the desk, and if it fell, it would be the second one I’d have to replace this year. Pulling her against me, I grabbed the edge of the desk and shoved until she and the computer were pressed against the wall. With the sudden change of position, I sank even deeper, and we both groaned.

“I don’t even care,” she panted, slipping her hand between her legs. Spreading her fingers, she gripped my cock and then rubbed it against herself until she came. My shouts of pleasure joined hers until we both collapsed against the desk.

“They had to have heard that,” I muttered.

“They’re out running tonight.”

Pulling out of her, I turned her around and sat her bare ass on the desk. “What?”

Anna smirked mischievously. “Jenson offered to take them hunting tonight, so the upstairs is empty. I didn’t tell you because I think it’s hot when you think you have to keep quiet.”

“Gets you off, doesn’t it?” Tilting her back, I lazily dragged my tongue over her nipple. Over the past three years, we’d opened the upstairs apartment to orphaned teenagers who wanted to join a pack. It all started a few years back when Anna recognized someone during one of her trips to visit Finn and learned her parents had died a month earlier. She was fifteen, and it was a miracle she was still alive.

After that, word spread, and packs began opening themselves to take in more strays. Pack borders were finally becoming places of freedom and peace instead of a cruel world. Those who wanted the safety of a pack could now find it more easily.

Unfortunately, it also meant the office wasn’t the best place for a quick fuck.

Her hands slid down my arms, and she grinned with amusement as the black ink that climbed my skin disappeared. “Dash messing with you again?”

“One of these days, he’s going to curse me,” I growled. “I swear Irene is still getting back at me for cutting down that clearing behind her house.”

“She likes the trees.”

“It was a forest fire! I was trying to save her damn cabin!” I looked down at my skin. “What did he do?”

“I think he temporarily dyed your wolf’s fur blue.”

Sighing, I pressed my forehead to hers. “He’s a menace.”

“He’s four.”

“At no age should he be changing the color of his father’s wolf.”

“I’m pretty sure I heard Simone telling him to make it pink before she left.”

Kissing her neck, I leaned her back over the desk again and trailed kisses down to her stomach. “We made perfect babies,” I murmured. “We should make another.”

“No. We should not,” she laughed. After Simone, she had gone back on birth control. Our son had so much control over his wolf and his magic that he became feral the moment he managed to shift—at the insane age of two. Simone was only now discovering her wolf, but she could also shift in the blink of an eye. Her null abilities canceled out her brother’s and brought a little more peace to the house, but they were old enough now to gang up together, and Simone did everything her brother told her to do.

She adored him.

And he adored her.

Life was chaos, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Anna’s thighs twitched slightly, and her eyes darkened. Without hesitation, I slid back inside her.

“You shouldn’t be able to get this hard again so soon,” she whispered, wrapping her legs around me.

“I’m not here to waste any chance of being inside you.”

“You were supposed to help me with inventory.”

“And I am. Counting how many orgasms I can give you while Jenson watches our little monsters, and this time, I know I can make you scream.”

By the time we were done, we were both on the floor, hot and sweaty, and she was limp against me.

“You’re going to have to help me clean before we leave, or the morning manager is going to know we fucked in here.”

“Good.” I nipped at her shoulder. “I want everyone to know.”

Beaming, she got up and looked down at me. “Sometimes I wonder how we got so lucky. Two beautiful kids. A wonderful, thriving pack.”

“It’s you,” I told her. “It’s always been you, Anna.”

She made me a better alpha, made me a better wolf, and our love balanced me in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

Her nightmares still came, but less often. She had trouble leaving the kids for too long, and I knew her fear was that her nightmare would become theirs. But the mountain was at peace. Packs were allies. Our violent world was finding its balance, and whatever tomorrow brought, we would face it the way we had faced everything else. Together.

“I love you,” she sighed.

“And I love you too. More than the first time I said it, and less than I’ll love you a year from now.”

Two bonds flared brighter within me, pulsing with joy, and we both sprang to our feet to get dressed. The moment of peace had passed, and within seconds, two little whirlwinds would come barreling into our arms, howling with happiness.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The End.
