Chapter 27 Chapter 27
Gabriel
“What-“ under me, her pussy still fluttering and pulsing around my throbbing leaking cock, Audrey tensed. Her eyes widening as the voice spoke again.
“Audrey.”
Panic gripped her features, twisting them and this time I knew she had heard them. I knew that if I moved an inch she would see them and all of this would be over.
“What the actual fuck are you doing Audrey?” Bethan’s voice said again, louder this time.
“Leave.” I snapped, the last of my cum spilling inside the woman I had loved since I was seventeen years old. I didn’t even bother to turn. I knew who was behind me. One of them I had put there to watch, just to drive home that the woman trembling with my cream dripping out of her was mine and not his.
The other two? Those were going to be a problem because Audrey was already stiffening. Her small hands pushing at my chest. I didn’t move.
In the grand scheme of things I was a rock and couldn’t be moved. Not when it came to Audrey. Not now I had her.
It would take more than her friends horrified noises to make me let go of her now.
“Get off me.”
I didn’t move.
“Gabriel, I mean it,” Audrey slapped at my chest, and I finally moved but not before I covered her.
“Gabriel?” Johnny's voice shook. Turning with my hand still clasped around Audrey’s wrist I watched as the ropes fell away and he climbed to his feet.
Our eyes clashed and I smiled before I could help myself. Just a quick flick of my lips before I settled the mask back over the lower half of my face. Behind the rubber I licked my lips.
I could still taste Audrey in them. Her mouth and her pussy.
“Gabriel King.” Johnnys voice shook with anger,
Smirking behind the mask, I nodded my head politely.
“You’re fucking a king?” Bethan squeaked. There was a wild look on her face. Apprehension and what looked like disgust.
“Im-“ Audrey muttered. “It’s not like that.”
I frowned. It was exactly like that. Only more so much more.
I opened my mouth to say so and Bethan spoke again. Her voice rising into a yell.
“Then what is it like Audrey? Is he the reason you came here tonight?”
Under my hand Audrey’s arm began to shake. She was angry as well. Good for her. My woman had fight and fire.
“You’re the one who got tickets Bethan. You were the one who arranged tonight. I never even-“
“Oh come off of it Audrey. You invited Johnny, are you really telling me you didn’t realise your other lover would be here?”
My fingers flexed around her wrist. What did Bethan mean when she said other. Had Audrey and him been intimate and I had missed it.
“I didn’t-“ Audrey trailed off. Guilt beating her cheeks. “It wasn’t meant to go down like this. I didn’t mean-“
Bethan took a threatening step forward and I went to meet her. Positioning myself half in front of Audrey.
“You’ve changed Audrey.” Bethan spat but her eyes lifted to glare at me. “You changed when you went back to that house. The old Audrey was sweet; she was caring she would never have had sex in front of a man she was meant to like.” Lifting her hand she stabbed me in the chest with her nail. “You tied him up, made him fucking watch. What kind of monster does that? What kind of psychopath?”
Slowly I looked down at her finger, before lifting my eyes to her and she dropped her hand like a rock.
“He needed to learn who she belonged to,” I said simply and heard her suck in a breath.
“And you think she belongs to you?”
Throwing back my head I laughed. Great big bellows that seemed to fill the room around us. Everyone else fell silent.
All eyes turned to me.
“She does belong to me. I have her all over me. She wears my mark. There’s nothing you or anyone else can say that will change fate.”
“Fate?” Bethan rolled her eyes. “You’re the weirdo who sent her apples all the time aren’t you. Have you been stalking her?”
The laughter died on my lips. “I did what I had to do to keep her-“
“You’re a fucking psycho-“ angrily she lifted her hand and swung it back.
Audrey stepped forward, catching her friend's wrist before she could swing her hand down to slap me. I lifted my eyebrows in surprise.
“Don’t do that.”
Was that anger I heard in Audrey’s voice?
Was my woman coming to my defence.
“You’re as warped as he is.” Bethan dropped her arm. It swung by her side. “I mean it Audrey. It’s like I don’t even know you anymore.”
“I’m still the same, it’s just-“ Audrey’s muttered.
“No you’re not.” Shaking her head Bethan backtracked. Coming to stand in front of a silent Johnny she took a deep breath.
“Are you ok?” She asked him.
He didn’t answer her, his eyes were on the woman next to me. His eyes appraising her. A cold kind of anger filled me when I realised he was looking at the ruins of her costume. And the nake body visible through the tatters of the material.
Even now, after being forced to watch and after being told she was mine he couldn’t help himself.
Growling out, I moved across the room. Snatching up the elaborately embroidered altar cloth I wrapped it around Audrey’s shoulders. Covering her from throat to toes.
“I didn’t mean-“ Audrey clutched at the thick material. “I just didn’t know what to do or how to tell you. You have to believe me when I say I didn’t invite you because-“
He cut her off. “Go fuck your self Audrey.”
Bethan nodded her head in agreement, “come on let’s go.” She took his arm and the guy whose name I didn’t remember took his other. Like I had really hurt Johnny and he couldn’t walk by himself.
A sob ripped its way out of Audrey’s lips. It was the kind of sound that told me her heart was breaking. I hated that for her.
“Guys please-“ Audrey took a trembling step forward. “Please let me explain.”
Bethan threw a scathing look over her shoulder. “Go to hell Audrey. You two psychopaths deserve each other.”
“Be careful.” My voice dropped into a low menacing whisper and all three of them froze. “Of speaking to my woman like that.”
Violence and anger so white hot it was blinding threatened to take me over. The monster inside roared to life.
“I can talk to my friend anyway I like.” Bethan spat. “Ex friend. The Audrey we knew would never be with a man like you.”
“What a psychopath?” I cocked my head to the side and studied them in turn. “I am a psychopath. You’re right about that. But if you think what I did to him tonight is evil you should see what I will do to him if he goes near her again.” I scanned each of their pale faces in turn.
They were beginning to see me, actually see me for what I was and it was frightening them.
Good.
“Or if any of you upset her.” I drew myself up to my full height but I didn’t raise my voice. I didn’t need to.
They knew I was dangerous.
“You’ll do what?” Bethan stepped toward. I had to admit the woman had more balls than the men behind her. “Kill us?” Her voice dripped with sarcasm. But that sarcasm evaporated when I shrugged.
“Maybe.”
Bethan’s eyes widened. “You wouldn’t-“
A note of panic entered her voice.
“Wouldn’t I? I have loved Audrey since I was a kid. She is the angel who brought me back to life: there is nothing I wouldn’t do for her. Even say avenge a friend who was hurt.” I left the rest unsaid but Bethan understood. The blood drained from her face leaving it looking grey and sickly.
“You didn’t,” wildly she looked between us. Her throat works as she swallowed again and again. “Jesus you really are -“
“A man in love.”
“A monster.” She said quietly. “Audrey’s he’s a killer, come home with us. We can go to the police and-“
For a second my hand tightened around Audrey wrist. Preparing myself to hold on to her.
“I can’t-“ Audrey muttered and I did a double take. Had she really just said that? Was my angel choosing me.
“I can’t go with you, Bethan.” She said louder this time, “I wish I could walk away from him but I can’t. He needs me and I-“ she glanced up at me. “I think I need him as well,”
Bethan’s mouth fell open. “What you both need is a doctor and a padded cell. He’s going to drag you down with him.”
“I know.” Audrey’s voice was tiny. “I know he’s going to drag me to hell but I’ve been falling by myself inside the moment I first saw him. He is the ghost that has haunted my entire life.” She sucked in a breath. “I don’t want to fall alone-“
She was choosing me. For the first time in my life someone was actually choosing me. Ignoring the looks of the others I swept her up into my arms. Cradling her in my arms like she was a child.
“You never have to fall alone again Audrey, because we will fall together. Even if we fall into the depths of hell itself I won’t let you go.” Holding her steady in my arms.
I moved past them and headed down the stairs with her cradled in my arms.
“Promise?” She mouthed silently,
“Audrey.” Bethan called out. “Think about this. He’s a killer and-“
I cut her off. “Promise.”
