Chapter 133 Is He Able to Withstand It?

Having finally escaped from the sanatorium, Henry took a deep breath and glared viciously at his driver.

"Stefano," he said, "ever since we left Freton City, you seem to be getting more and more brazen, not even listening to me."

Stefano turned his head, revealing his bruised and swollen face, and said sadly, "Boss, do I look like I'm in a position to be brazen?"

Henry was momentarily stunned, then realized, "Were you got beaten up when sparring with Antonio?"

Stefano nodded in pain.

Seeing Stefano's condition, Henry felt it wasn't right to scold him. He patted his shoulder and consoled him, "Don't feel bad. Once we get to the capital, we'll have our chance to vent."

At this, a smile spread across Henry's face.

At the sanatorium, he could only be humiliated.

However, away from the rehab center, he was still the king of the North State.

King Henry!

"Why is Antonio late?" Henry checked the rearview mirror, somewhat surprised. When it came to bloody action, Antonio was always swift. This time, he was not keeping up.

Stefano hesitated before carefully saying, "He seems to be picking up Phoenix."

Henry's face tensed, and he urged, "Drive faster, let's get going."

Stefano wanted to say that speeding wouldn't make much difference since they both knew the destination and would catch up eventually...

However, he held his tongue, fearing that he wouldn't need to wait for Antonio—the General might kick him out right now.

The car passed through numerous checkpoints and gradually entered the urban area. The traffic on the roads became denser.

Finally, they stopped in front of a glitzy shopping mall.

Inside the car was a device that automatically connected to the mall's surveillance once they arrived. Henry watched the screen and saw some very awkward figures, and he couldn't help but remark.

"Great achievers do not sweat the small stuff. This Enrico wants the help of the Harris family but doesn’t want to give up much in return. How could that work?"

"I need to help him out; otherwise, when will he ever dare to challenge me?"

In the jewelry exhibition hall, the glass trembled gently.

The neatly arranged necklaces had become disarrayed.

The saleswoman was about to straighten them when a large hand tapped emphatically on the display case, and a deep voice said, "Let me see that one."

A big spender!

The saleswoman's heart leapt for joy. This necklace was designed by a top jewelry master and worth hundreds of thousands. If she could sell it, her sales performance would shoot up dramatically.

"Sir, youu..." she started.

However, as she looked up, she was speechless.

The woman across the counter bellowed with anger, "What 'sir' are you talking about? Can't you see I'm a woman?!"

The speaker was about six feet tall, incredibly large and also quite portly. At a glance, her width seemed to almost match her height.

The sales clerk quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, miss. My mistake."

"Mistakes should be punished," the burly woman replied indifferently. There was no need for her command; someone had already come around the counter and grabbed the clerk’s face, slapping her several times with such force that the clerk screamed in agony and fainted.

"What's going on here?" Hearing the commotion, the manager of the jewelry section approached with a mix of anger and urgency, summoning the security guards. From a distance, he could make out the woman's silhouette and was slightly taken aback. Could she be a tower?

But as he saw her from the front, the manager's demeanor shifted abruptly to sycophancy. "Ah, Ms. Abigail! What an honor to have you here."

Abigail gave him a glance and said pointedly, "How come you're only greeting me? Don't you see the head of the Lewis family is also present?"

The manager was startled before he noticed Enrico standing beside Abigail.

Truthfully, he felt it was a bit unfair to Enrico. Enrico was no small man either, broad and muscular, but next to Abigail, he looked like a pony standing beside an elephant; hardly noticeable.

Whoever it was, they would naturally be drawn first to Abigail's towering presence.

The manager dared not say more, simply offering a flattering smile, "Head of the Lewis family, I'm sorry, please forgive me."

Enrico, in a somewhat foul mood, just waved his hand, not wanting to engage further with the manager.

He felt the room had dimmed and thought it might be the lighting in the jewelry hall. However, looking up, he realized it was Abigail blocking the light...

Feeling more irritable, Enrico forced down his sense of humiliation and managed a smile. "Abigail, you're planning to buy that necklace?"

"Mm, Enrico, I fell in love with it at first sight," Abigail said, a slight blush crossing her cheeks.

"It's yours, I'll get it for you!" Enrico declared, quite generously. A few hundred thousand was nothing to him, and if it could please Abigail, it was worth it.

However, upon seeing the necklace, he paused and looked skeptically at Abigail's neck. "Abigail, this... it seems it might not fit you."

"Don't be ridiculous, of course it will fit. Don't you want to give me a present?" Abigail responded, feigning annoyance, "I'll put it on for you to see."

"...All right."

Enrico felt a wave of disgust at her slightly whiny tone and had to fight the urge to vomit. He knew that giving in to that feeling could jeopardize the alliance with the Harris family, so he held it in.

However, he was certain that with Abigail's thick neck, that necklace stood no chance of fitting.

Then he saw Abigail casually pick up the necklace and slip it onto her wrist, "Look, it fits perfectly without any adjustment."

Enrico's lips twitched, nearly bursting into a curse.

Others wore it around their necks, and she wore it on her wrist, even bragging that it fit just right?

At that moment, he truly wondered if it was worth spending a lifetime with a woman like her for the sake of power and status.

"Miss, your favorite bubble tea is here."

A servant hurried over with a bag in hand.

Abigail plucked two cups from the bag, sipping one herself and handing the other to Enrico.

"Here, Enrico, have some."

"Thanks."

Enrico had just taken a sip when Abigail had already chugged her entire cup in one breath and then pulled out another from the bag the servant was holding.

He felt a heavy heart as he heard Abigail murmur, "Strange, this bubble tea tastes a little off this time."

'You can actually taste the flavor?'

Enrico was too drained to complain, had she even taken a second to drink it?

In another room, monitoring the surveillance, an old man with a white beard looked embarrassed.

Henry, dissatisfied, said, "You claim to be unrivaled in both medicine and poisons, Robert, so how could someone detect something wrong with an aphrodisiac you administered?"

Doctor Roberto looked a bit wronged, "General, I didn't intend for this, but Abigail's constitution is something I've rarely seen. To be cautious, I gave her an aphrodisiac fifty times the normal dose. The taste was a bit obvious, but even so, looking at her expression, it seems like it might not be enough."

"Fifty times the dose of the aphrodisiac?"

Henry was startled, "I'm not trying to kill Enrico, are you sure he'll be able to withstand it?"

Doctor Roberto hesitated, "He should... probably manage. Considering the situation, I added many tonics to the bubble tea Enrico drank, he should be able to handle it..."

Looking at Abigail, who occupied half of the surveillance screen, he was at a loss.

As a doctor and poisoner for many years, he had never encountered such an uncertain situation.
