Chapter 102 - A HOT PREGNANT WOMAN
The crackle of burning wood is deafening, each blast echoing like an echo of the chaos around us. The flames roar voraciously, devouring everything in their path with indomitable ferocity. The intensity of the heat is overwhelming, enveloping us in its fiery embrace as the cabin collapses around us. Every inch that falls is like a blow to the heart, reminding us how fragile our existence is in the midst of this hell.
Genrant looks at me with a mixture of worry and determination in his eyes, his features tense with the uncertainty of the moment. Every bead of sweat that slides down his face reflects the tension of the moment, but his attention is completely focused on me, as if I am the only beacon of hope in the midst of the darkness.
A violent cough shakes my body, reminding me of the tightness in my lungs caused by the toxic smoke I inhaled inside the cabin. The choking sensation is almost palpable, but Genrant's concern gives me the strength to carry on.
"Are you okay?" Just hearing his worried tone makes me feel a comforting warmth in the midst of despair. It's as if his concern is a balm to my soul, reminding me that I am not alone in this struggle.
A smile forms on my lips at his question, a flash of relief crossing my face as I feel protected by his care. "I am now," I answer truthfully, letting gratitude and relief flood my voice. In his arms, I know I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
Genrant looks hesitant, as if he is trying to find the right words to express what he is feeling at that moment. His question about my pregnancy sounds hopeful, but it also contains a hint of fear, as if he's worried that my words aren't true, or worse, that I've lied about something so important.
"Well, it sounds like it," I reply with a slightly teasing tone, trying to lighten the tension of the moment despite the latent danger we've just faced. "It depends on how much you trust the words of a completely insane man who tried to assassinate us, but everything points to yes."
Genrant's gaze drifts to my belly, his eyes scanning the fabric of my dress as if trying to find some sign of truth in my words. Without a word, he moves closer, his nose brushing against the sweat-damp fabric clinging to my skin. His movements are precise, as if he is trying to pick up every scent I may be hiding, looking for some tangible confirmation of what I just told him.
"What are you doing?!" my face lights up all over, and my tone of voice fills with horror as I try to push Genrant away from my belly, though my efforts prove futile. I'm drenched in sweat and surely smell terrible after what we've just been through. I don't want him to get too close, much less in his current state, with his clothes off and his muscular silhouette standing out against the shadows of the night and the glow of the flames. It's too compromising, too tempting, especially after having escaped imminent death.
"I just wanted to check for myself," Genrant replies with a gleam of joy in his eyes, and I notice how his gaze shifts to me with a certain complicity. He seems to have found what he was looking for.
Genrant smiles mischievously, and his eyes twinkle with amusement as he seems to notice my discomfort. I realize that he can smell me perfectly, so he must have an idea of what is going through my mind at that moment.
"At this rate, we could make it two instead of one puppy," Genrant comments with a mischievous grin as he settles back on top of me, confirming in no uncertain terms that I am pregnant. A sense of relief washes over me, making me feel as if a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
I can't help but stare at Genrant, taking in every detail of his face and well-sculpted body. However, when my eyes drop down past his incredibly marked abdomen, I notice how Genrant watches me with a raised eyebrow. I quickly hide my face in my hands, feeling the blush come over me. I want the earth to swallow me up for the shame I feel at this moment. For an instant, I realize how happy his body seems to be in this position with me, or maybe it's because of the confirmation that I'm pregnant. I'm not one hundred percent sure what the exact reason is, but I'd rather assume it's a combination of both.
I feel the need to play along with his earlier comment, even though my mind is still struggling to take in everything that has happened.
"Once we get out of here, I might consider it," I say trying to sound nonchalant, though inside I'm burning up and my face must be reflecting all the colors of the rainbow. I keep covering my face, feeling like I can't look him in the eye without provoking him even more, or provoking myself. Could it be the pregnancy hormones making me feel this way?
"I didn't know I had such a seductive partner. I remember you still owe me my reward," Genrant replies with a mischievous smile.
As I'm about to answer him, the loud sound of some wood from the destroyed hut starts to move. "But what the hell...?" exclaims Genrant, as surprised as I am by the sudden change in the situation.
The creaking and groaning of the ruined hut structure intensifies, as if the wood is taking on a life of its own. Every movement seems to threaten to unleash new chaos upon us, adding to the tension already in the air. My muscles automatically tense, ready to face any danger that may arise from this new threat.
Genrant goes on high alert, his senses sharpened by surprise and bewilderment. His protective stance becomes more pronounced as if he is prepared to face any adversity that comes his way. I watch as his muscles tense, ready to act in an instant if necessary, his gaze fixed on the suspicious movement of the rubble.
"What's wrong?" I ask in alarm, as if Genrant has the answer, as my body seeks further shelter beneath him. I feel my heart begin to race at what I am witnessing, fear quickly flooding my being, and involuntarily I cling tighter to Genrant.
A humanoid figure begins to emerge from between the wooden planks engulfed in flames. I can't believe my eyes. Is this man still alive? Is Frank still alive? How is this possible?
"How is he still alive? It can't be real!" my thoughts come out loud and seem to be heard by Frank.
