Epilogue Part 1
Blaze tapped his fingers on the top of the table of the conference room. The sound echoed in a thunderous unending reminder of anxiety to his executives. He seemed barely engrossed in their proposals. The silence stretched, they saw that he was most definitely not happy with what he was reading.
The hearts of the seven members momentarily stopped at the unexpected sound bouncing of the walls of the room.
“Excuse me.” Blaze shot them all a quick glare as he fished his cell from his trousers. A slight smirk curved his lips. He rose from his seat and walked over to the window. A distance from the members.
“He doesn’t seem happy.” A woman spoke in hushed tones.
“Is he ever?” Another countered.
“Actually quite recently he seems to be social and less intimidating.” A male member entered the gossip.
“Less intimidating? Are you deluded? I agree that he has now been a bit approachable, but on other accounts I disagree.” The first woman stated.
“Are you all aware of the reason for his recent happiness?” another male counterpart became involved.
“I can’t pretend to even try and understand that man. I can’t imagine our source of happiness would be equivalent to his.” The second woman replied.
“Well in this I can say you are mistaken! It is a simple reason. He has gotten married.” The second man clarified.
“Married?” Five of the members echoed silently.
“Jonathon, have you heard of this?” One of the women inquired.
Jonathon, who was hardly paying attention to the nosy employees, simply shook his head and all the attention left him.
“Have you seen her? What’s she like?” A man inquired.
“I bet she’s one of his model girlfriends. That man only has time for someone as perfect as himself.” One of the older women rolled her eyes in disapproval.
“Juliette is not a model.” Jonathon, unable to stay silent, felt as if he needed to interrupt and set everyone’s perception straight. All eyes fell on him again.
“She is beautiful and has a brilliant mind. She used to work here and is a personal friend of mine. She embraces all the qualities a woman should have.” He was frank and challenged them to ask anymore.
“Of all the things to change Blaze it was something as simple as love?” One man snorted.
“There is nothing simple about love. She must really be something to capture his attention. Let’s hope she puts him in a good mood.” A woman commented and they all grew silent as Blaze approached them.
“Tell me, why should I even consider this proposal?” Blaze demanded.
Juliette’s heart tumbled in anticipation. She continued taking deep breaths in an attempt to calm herself. She couldn’t help smiling to herself. She was in dire need to speak to her husband...Her husband...the words excited her and her heart swelled at the confirmation.
She rang his cell and waited until he answered. “I was just thinking about you.” His voice off thick on the other end of the line.
She smiled. “Were you now?” she teased.
“I am always thinking about you, what I want to do to you.” And it was the truth. He was in a meeting but turning the pages of the proposal was not something that captured his attention. He kept thinking of her.
Juliette’s heart tightened and she was sure she was a bright shade of red. “So everything you do is premeditated?” She joked and she heard his throaty laughter.
“Where are you?” He asked.
“Just leaving the hospital.” She replied.
“Are you alright?” She heard the instant worry in his voice and smiled.
“I am perfectly fine! Just a check-up. Hey, I have to go but will you be home for dinner?” She questioned.
“Of course.” He replied.
“Great! I’ll see you then.”
“Till then, and Juliette?”
“Yes?” she questioned.
“I love you, take care of yourself.”
“I will. I love you.” She replied.
