"Lady Yanis, are you awake?"
Sophia asked outside the door.
Yanis answered, "Yes."
Yanis got out of bed and went to open the door. "Sophia, what's wrong?"
Sophia looked at the hickeys on Yanis' neck and wanted to say something.
Yanis remembered what happened last night, so she quickly tightened the collar of her pajamas. "Sophia, I'll go downstairs after getting dressed."
Sophia nodded. "The old Thompson is waiting for you downstairs."
Yanis nodded and nodded went back to her room after Sophia left.
The clothes were ready in the closet, so she got dressed after a shower and went downstairs.
There was no one else in the living room but Catherine, who was sitting at the table, and Sophia, who was standing off to the side.
"Grandma."
Catherine looked over at Yanis. "Do you still have a headache?"
Yanis froze and then shook her head gently. "No."
"Zane said you were drunk and had a headache last night, so he asked us not to wake you up. I was worried, so I asked Sophia to see how you are going."
Yanis didn't expect Zane to say that, saying, "I won't drink anymore."
Catherine nodded. "It doesn't matter at home, but you must be careful when you are out."
Yanis nodded.
"Bring the porridge for Yanis."
Sophia nodded and bring the porridge for Yanis from the kitchen. "Lady Yanis, porridge is good for your stomach."
Yanis thanked Sophia and finished a cup of porridge before Catherine.
After that, Catherine talked with Yanis for a while, not mentioning the divorce at all.
When Yanis was to leave, Sophia walked Yanis to the door and said, "Lady Yanis."
Yanis turned her face to Sophia and said softly, "Sophia, don't call me that anymore. You can call me by my first name or 'Yanis'."
Sophia sighed. "Lady Yanis, I think Master Zane likes you. Please don't divorce him!"
As a nurserymaid of the Lawrence family, Sophia was in no position to say anything. However, having witnessed what happened over the years, she couldn't help it.
Yanis listened to Sophia's words and chuckled. "Sophia, Zane doesn't like me at all."
"But..."
"Sophia, as an adult, I should embrace reality."
With that, Yanis reached out and gave Sophia a hug. "I'll leave now. My friend is coming to pick me up."
When getting up, Yanis messaged Bonnie.
Bonnie happened to stop the car in front of the Lawrence's Mansion, saying, "Yanis."
Yanis turned her face to look at Bonnie sitting in the car and then looked at Sophia. "Goodbye, Sophia."
Sophia looked at Yanis with tears in her eyes. With a nod, she, "Goodbye, Lady Yanis."
Sophia didn't change the way she called Yanis, but Yanis smiled and waved at Sophia, getting into Bonnie's car.
As soon as Yanis got in, Bonnie drove the car away. She stepped on the gas as hard as she could.
"Are you in a hurry?" Yanis put on her seat belt and asked Bonnie.
Bonnie pulled onto the highway before she said, "Did you and Zane have a fight?"
Hearing Bonnie's words, Yanis frowned and replied, "I have no fight with him, and I can't bear to talk to..."
"Yanis!"
Before Yanis could finish her sentence, Bonnie interrupted Yanis and gave her a serious look, "You..."
Bonnie calmed down, tried to keep her voice quiet, and asked, "When was Neve back?"
The expression on Bonnie's face froze when she heard this. "You saw her?"
Bonnie snorted and said through gritted teeth, "I'm not the only one who saw her. Everyone in Manches City knew it!"
It took a moment for Yanis to recover and whisper, "I guess she came back the night before last."
"So what? What are you going to do?"
Yanis leaned against the seat and looked out of the car window.
It was only after a long time that Yanis said, "Bonnie, we're getting a divorce."
Bonnie couldn't help but shout in a low voice, "Is Zane crazy?"
"Back then, you were so determined to marry him that you didn't hesitate to cut ties with your family. I thought, as a man, he would be touched eventually. I didn't expect him to be so ruthless!"
"What a bastard!"
Bonnie then asked, "So, he falls in love with Neve again?"
"Not really. After all, he has had a crush on Neve and kept going abroad these years. And now, they finally get together."
"What about you? How much do you weigh in his mind?"
Yanis looked calm and her voice was also peaceful. "I'm just a person of no significance in his mind."
Bonnie was infuriated by Yanis' words. "I'll take you to argue with him. I'll ask why he is so ruthless!"
"Bonnie, I'm tired." Yanis' tone is calm. "I just want to do what I want now."
Bonnie was furious. "You've been serving him for five years for nothing."
"I was asking for it."
"Bullshit! I..."
Before Bonnie could finish her sentence, Yanis' cell phone rang.
It was just Zane!
Yanis looked at the caller ID on the screen and got a little hesitant. When she was about to answer, Bonnie took the phone over and answered it angrily.
Zane's tone was calm and expressionless. "Yanis, did you see..."
"Of course! Everyone saw Neve! Zane, shame on you! Do you know what Yanis has done for you? Do you know how much she has suffered for you?"
"In the past five years, she has served you as a nurserymaid, but you abandoned her as soon as your first love is back. You are the worst man I've known."
Bonnie shouted before Zane could finish his words. "Go find your first love! Leave Yanis alone! She is much more popular than you thought!"
After Bonnie said that, she hung up the phone!
Yanis looked at Bonnie dumbfoundedly. "Bonnie, you..."
Bonnie threw the phone to Yanis and said, "He deserves it. You can't be that subservient!"
Yanis took the phone and was just about to say something when the phone rang again. It was still Zane.
Seeing this, Bonnie tried to get the phone, but Yanis stopped her. "I'll answer it myself."
Then Yanis answered the phone.
"Bonnie, return the phone to Yanis!" Zane said in an anger voice on the other end of the phone.
Yanis answered, "This is Yanis speaking."
