No other woman is going to have you..
No other woman is going to have you..
Carlos
“Here you go, beautiful.” I pulled out Daisy’s chair for her.
“Thank you.” She looked up at me with a small smile before sitting down.
I leaned over and kissed her cheek, then walked around the table and took my seat.
“Do you really have to call me beautiful and give me all these cute names every time?” Daisy asked with a laugh.
“I do. What else am I supposed to do when I have the most beautiful, sweetest woman sitting right in front of me? I have to remind you how special you are whenever I get the chance.”
“Carlos.” Her cheeks turned pink, and she laughed again.
I pointed towards the sky. “Look at the moon.”
Daisy lifted her head.
We were having dinner at a rooftop restaurant, surrounded by other couples and groups enjoying their evening. I had wanted to reserve the entire place for us, but Daisy had refused. She wanted people around us. She wanted a normal dinner instead of having the whole restaurant emptied just because I could afford it.
I would have preferred having the place to ourselves, but when it came to Daisy, I usually gave her what she wanted. Her happiness mattered more to me than getting my own way.
“Now tell me, does the moon really have anything on you?” I asked.
She looked at me and shook her head with a smile. “You are only saying that because you want to flatter me.”
“I am being honest, and you know it. If Venus were real, I am certain even she would be jealous of you.”
I meant every word.
If the goddess Venus really existed, there was no doubt in my mind that Daisy would still be the more beautiful woman.
For several moments, I simply watched her.
She was talking to me, but I barely caught anything she said.
God, I had missed her so fucking much.
She had only been back with me for a few days, yet I had done nothing more than kiss her cheeks and forehead. Every part of me wanted more. I wanted her lips against mine again. I wanted to kiss her properly and remind myself what it felt like to have her close.
But I refused to let Daisy think that I only wanted her because I was attracted to her.
I loved her.
That was what mattered.
Still, I could not deny how badly I wanted to kiss her. Every time I looked at her lips, I had to fight myself.
So I held myself back.
I wanted Daisy to know that what I felt for her went far beyond physical attraction.
“Carlos?”
She waved her fingers in front of my face, finally pulling me back to the conversation.
“Gold.”
“What were you thinking about?”
“You.”
She raised an eyebrow.
“What else could I possibly be thinking about when you are sitting right in front of me?”
Before she could respond, a woman called my name.
“Mr. Blaze.”
I turned towards the voice and saw Miss Reilly walking towards our table.
She was one of my business partners. She could be rather flirtatious, but I had never been interested in her. Not even remotely.
She approached us with a huge smile.
Daisy watched her too.
“Hello, Mr. Blaze.” Reilly smiled as she reached our table and extended her hand towards me.
Before I could even respond, Daisy pushed her chair back and got to her feet.
“Excuse me, Miss.”
Reilly turned towards her.
Daisy had a serious expression on her face, and I had to hold back a smile.
Jealous Daisy was one of my favourite versions of her.
I could have told Reilly to leave myself, but I decided to let Daisy handle this one.
“Yes?” Reilly asked.
“Do you not think you should greet the woman sitting at the table before approaching the man?”
Reilly looked confused for a moment.
“I was only saying hello to Mr. Blaze.”
“And who exactly are you to him?”
Reilly glanced at me, then looked back at Daisy.
“I am his business partner. And you are?”
“I am his girlfriend.”
Those words did something to me.
I stood up immediately and walked over to Daisy. I wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her against me.
That was my woman.
“His woman,” Daisy added proudly.
I had to fight the smile on my face.
“Gold, this is Miss Reilly. She is my business partner and nothing else.”
The smile disappeared from Reilly’s face.
She recovered quickly, putting on a polite expression before extending her hand towards Daisy.
“It is nice to finally meet the woman who stole Mr. Blaze’s heart.”
Daisy took her hand.
“It is nice to meet the woman who works with Mr. Blaze and will never be anything more than his business partner.”
I could not stop myself from smiling.
Reilly looked at me, and whatever fake friendliness she had been showing was gone.
“I think I will leave you two to your dinner.”
She turned around and walked away.
I laughed under my breath while Daisy watched her go.
“My Gold is jealous.”
Daisy turned towards me.
“Did you see the way she came over here? She did not even care that we were clearly on a date. I know that kind of walk, and I saw the way she was smiling at you. She definitely wants you.”
“But you just said it yourself. She will never have me.”
“No other woman is going to have you, Carlos. No other woman.”
I stepped closer to her.
“And no other man is going to have you either.”
Daisy looked into my eyes.
“Can we agree on that?”
I glanced at her lips for a moment before looking back at her face.
“Let us get back to our dinner.”
I started to move away, but Daisy caught my arm.
“Kiss me.”
I leaned down and kissed her forehead.
She looked as though she wanted to say something else, but before she could, my phone began ringing.
I pulled it from my pocket and looked at the screen.
Andro.
“Give me a minute, Gold.”
I helped Daisy back into her chair before walking several steps away from the table.
Then I answered.
“Hello, boss.”
“How is everything going?”
“Sandro is being extremely careful. He is not bringing any new men into his operation because he knows we could use someone to get close to him. But we have already managed to turn some of his men to our side. We are getting close to having enough people for a proper attack.”
“Good.”
I looked back towards Daisy.
“Get in touch with Sandro’s business partners and offer them deals. I will handle the negotiations myself. I am willing to accept less profit than I normally would if it helps bring him down.”
I paused.
“I want Sandro to suffer for what he did.”
My anger returned the moment I thought about Daisy and what he had done to her.
“I will bring him down myself. I want him to know exactly what is happening to him before I finish him.”
I took a slow breath, trying to keep my temper under control.
“Send me the names of everyone close to Sandro. Every associate, every ally, every person who matters to him.”
I looked back at Daisy.
“He is going to regret touching her by the time I am fucking finished with him.”
