Chapter 12
Two years ago? That's a lot of love and that's how long it is. But if it's two years ago, that means we met when I just started here at the hotel.
"When you helped me hide from my father's men."
I frowned. I cannot remember anything. I can't remember him.
"Are you serious? I don't remember you."
He shrugged. "I don't expect you to remember. Because I know that it isn't important to you. Maybe for you it's just another part of your life that you just let pass. You really don't remember something that doesn't matter to you, Melissa."
I don't know if he wants me to feel guilty or what.
But he was right. Those times were also the times when I was not myself. It was during those times that I found out that my mother was sick.
"It's good that you didn't expect. I'm sorry. I really don't remember. Because of the number of people who live and check in at this hotel, I really can't remember."
"I understand. I just..." He bit his lip.
I raised an eyebrow, waiting for the continuation of what he wanted to say.
"Confessed," he averted his gaze and put his hand on the nape of his neck.
I raised my eyebrows even more and suppressed a smile. Is he shy?
"Do you really have a crush on me? Or maybe you just want to get my virginity?"
"What?"
"Oh! See? I knew it! That's your hidden agenda! You pretend that you like me but the truth is you want something different from me!"
"I never said that!" he immediately denied.
"Gosh! You can't fool me, Mr. Russel! The best thing is to just sleep there. And don't worry because I won't leave from being your personal maid. I need money," I said and went out of his room.
I walked straight to the sofa and sat down immediately.
I took a long breath. I didn't expect what he said earlier. Is that true? Does he really like me?
"Ms. Loyola!"
I immediately stood up and faced the back where the room was.
"What?!" I yelled at him, panicking.
"Let's have a date."
My jaw dropped immediately. Date? He asked me to go on a date with him?
"Pass," I said and sat down again. I arranged the pile of pillows.
"Let's have ten dates for me to prove to you that I like you and I am persistent. Let's try if we can make things work."
I closed my eyes and slowly blew out the air.
"Let's just try," he added.
I rolled my eyes before I finally stood up and faced him again.
"You know what, it's just that you're not sleeping enough and you're having sex too much that's why you're like that. Just put it to sleep."
He was silent and stared at me for a long time.
"Tss..."
I frowned. What does it mean?
"I'll get you too," he said and turned his back on me. He entered the room and violently closed the door.
I just shook my head. I can't believe that he's insane!
I inhaled and immediately covered my mouth. Could it be that he has a bad plan for me? I think it's a bad idea to sleep here. What if I just go home?
I heard the bedroom door open so I immediately turned to it.
"I'm leaving. Go to sleep in the room. Don't worry I'm not coming in without permission."
"W-where are you?" I asked. It's late and he still wants to go out? But why do I care? I am just his maid. The maid shouldn't be asking the boss like that.
"S-sorry..." I bowed. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't be asking."
"I'm going to meet my friends."
"A-ahh..." I nodded.
"Mm... Do you want to come?"
"Huh? Oh! I don't like that."
"I see. I'm leaving. Go to sleep," he said and then passed me.
I also went to sleep and put aside the useless talks Zoren and I had that day. The next day I received a message from Lumina.
Lumina:
What is this news that I heard that you are working with someone else at the hotel? I am now so behind on everything. Maybe you want to tell me, Melissa?
Where did she find this gossip? It looks like she's very close to Mr. Buenaventura, huh? Hmm...
I immediately typed a reply.
Me:
I don't work for anyone else, Mina. I'm not like you!
I thought Lumina's message was too early. But I looked at the time and it was already too late. I overslept again. If the bed is this soft, I'm sure I'll sleep really well.
I immediately got up and left the room. The living and dining are quiet. There wasn't even the slightest rustle to make me think I had someone else in this suite.
"Didn't he come home last night?"
I must have slept deeply last night because I didn't know anything about the events.
I went to the fridge and drank some water there. I just noticed the sticky note stuck to the refrigerator door. I took it and immediately read it.
Good morning. Don't skip your breakfast. Today I'm officially a suitor and I'm going to tease you over and over about my ten dates. Let's have a date, Melissa Loyola.
I gasped and crumpled up the sticky note and threw it in the trash can nearby. He still expects me to date him. Never!
As usual I didn't do much in the suite. I only did a little cleaning and laundry. I went down at twelve for my lunch. Of course, since I am still a hotel employee, I can still go along and eat with the kitchen staff.
After lunch I went back to the suite and took a nap. I don't know why I've been sleepy these past few days.
I slept a little longer and I only woke up around four because of Lumina's message.
Lumina:
You are definitely not like me. Your tentacles are faster than mine. And who's friend Dwayne's referring to?
I knew it! It's Mr. Buenaventura who's sending the wrong news to Lumina. It seems that these two really have something. And Lumina's not telling me everything!
Get ready for me, Lumina!
