Chapter 45 Shocking Confession
"Hey Nami, what did you do to Prince Jacob?"
Almost everyone shouted at her, protesting after seeing her carrying Prince Jacob on her shoulders like she was carrying a sack of flour.
Nami panicked even more when she realized people were starting to surround her in the academy courtyard.
"W-what's this?"
"What do you mean? Get me down now!" Jacob said.
"I-is that so? Okay, if that's what you want, I'll get you down now!" She said, lowering Jacob from her shoulders and laying him on the grass.
Everyone looked shocked to see the prince's bleeding forehead. They didn't know what had happened or how the strongest human could be lying so helpless.
"Your Highness?" The prince's retainers were shocked to see the king's son injured. Nami thought their reaction was overbearing, considering Jacob wasn't a weakling they needed to worry about.
Although Nami hit him hard enough to send him flying against the wall, he wasn't in too bad shape, only sustaining minor injuries.
"Stop touching me! I can stand on my own!" He said, standing up slowly, holding back his embarrassment and annoyance.
This was the umpteenth time Nami had embarrassed him, and he didn't know why it was so difficult for him to face her. He limped away without saying a word.
"Your Highness, wait for us!" The four people who usually followed him immediately ran after him. Meanwhile, Nami remained standing where she was, prepared to face everyone's wrath.
"Hey, Nami, quickly tell us what really happened? How could Prince Jacob be injured like that?"
"But I heard Lady Louise screaming hysterically. She said Prince Jacob was injured and you were with him!"
"T-that, I-I-" she stuttered. She didn't know how to tell them that Jacob was injured by her fatal blow, after she had become so flustered when Jacob suddenly kissed her.
"Hey, what are you all doing to my girlfriend?"
To her surprise, George came up from behind and put his arm around her shoulders affectionately. He came like a late hero who quickly took over the attention.
"George?"
"Nami is my girlfriend, so I don't want to hear you say anything bad about her, do you understand?" George said this very firmly and confidently, as if his confession were a fact.
"Hey, what are you saying? I'm not—" Before Nami could finish her sentence, George immediately covered her mouth with his right hand.
Everyone in the crowd suddenly fell silent after George said something so shocking. Lea and Sydney, who had just joined the crowd, were no exception.
"Nami?" Lea and Sydney looked at each other, confused and worried, especially Lea, who had known George since high school. She knew what kind of person he was and how dangerous it was to deal with him.
"Lea, what's going on? Do you believe George and Nami are dating? Isn't that very strange?"
"Of course it's impossible. Nami couldn't be dating him. George must be planning something." Lea grew increasingly worried. Even though she had seen with her own eyes that Nami was very strong, she also knew that George was just as strong.
In high school, George was nicknamed the Ice Demon because of his cruel and cunning nature. He often caused people he dealt with to freeze to death or be stabbed by hundreds of ice daggers. George was extremely dangerous; in Lea's eyes, he was nothing more than a cold-blooded, merciless killer.
"Tch—"
Lea and Sydney flinched when they heard someone nearby curse in annoyance. Turning around, they saw Bella standing with Colin and Morgan, who were staring at George. Bella's expression was filled with anger, as if she were hurt by George's complete disregard for Mariah's well-being, even though he knew Mariah loved him deeply.
After the crowd slowly dispersed, only Lea, Sydney, Bella, Morgan, and Colin remained. They were the ones most curious about what was happening.
"Nami...!" Sydney immediately ran over to Nami. She didn't even care that George was still standing behind her, even though she knew he was dangerous.
"Sydney?"
"What happened? Where have you been? Lea and I have been looking for you!"
"It's a long story, I'll tell you two later."
"Did you fight with Prince Jacob again?" Lea asked. She was truly worried that Nami would have to deal with Prince Jacob again.
Nami fell silent, feeling uneasy about telling them what really happened. If she admitted to hitting Prince Jacob, they would definitely blame her. But it was impossible for her to tell them why she hit the prince.
"Th-that, actually, there was a slight misunderstanding between him and me. So I accidentally pushed him and got him hurt."
"You really meant to hurt Prince Jacob, didn't you?" Bella blurted out, immediately interrupting her. Nami, Lea, and Sydney immediately turned to Bella, who looked so angry that her face was red.
"Hey Bella, what do you mean?" Lea said, not accepting Bella's accusations against Nami, as if she had a personal grudge against her.
"Do you know how Mary is? She has serious injuries, several broken ribs, and she needs immediate surgery."
