Chapter 17 — Quarter
Sophia's POV:
Victor had been acting weird all day. The way he'd talked to Sammy this morning made Sammy cry. I was so mad at Victor for that.
Alvin explained things to me, saying Sammy was a special boy. I didn't know if that meant he was a Little or not, but I still loved my baby brother. Victor acting like an ass wasn't helping. I was mad and ended up riding with Sammy, Kyle, and Adam to school.
I didn't see Victor during our lunch break. Adam said he was busy, but Alvin was here to keep me company. I slapped his shoulder for that. Sammy sat with us instead of his friends. He gave me a sad smile, and that was it from Sam. I hardly ate anything, and what little I did eat was just due to Niti and Kyle's encouragement.
The rest of the day passed with me wondering where the hell Victor was. Then, the school day ended, and instead of all of us going home, Alvin picked the rest up while Adam said he was going to drive me to Victor.
"He's just being fussy because he wants to tell you something," Adam said. If this were his attempt to make me feel better, well, it wasn't working. Now, I was even more nervous.
Adam dropped me in the middle of the woods. Was this where Victor would me and get rid of the body? Victor guided me under a giant tree. He had a picnic all set for us, and I was unsure of my Daddy.
It was still hard to think about him as my Daddy. I had never had one before. This was all so new to me. When Victor started telling me the story, I felt so connected to it. I could just imagine myself under that tree, seeing the wolf. It all felt so real.
Then, Victor said it was real, that he was one of those human-wolf hybrids. I felt my heart skip a few beats when a wolf stood in front of me instead of Victor. He had the same green eyes as Victor and a brown coat like my Daddy's hair. He was simply beautiful. Did I just say that out loud?
I saw the wolf smirk at me. Could wolves even do that? He got closer to me and took a deep breath, smelling me. He then used his nose to nuzzle my neck. This wasn't any normal wolf. He was huge, and with me being short, we stood at the same eye level.
After he was done with my neck, he took a step back, and Victor stood there instead of the wolf. His clothes were still there. I guessed the clothes going away was just a myth.
"Are you scared, baby girl?" Victor asked, one hand going up my face to caress it.
I leaned into his touch and shook my head no. I wasn't scared; I felt safe with him. He smiled at that, a big one that showed off how beautiful he was.
"Do you still want me to be your Daddy?" he asked next, and I still nodded. "Sophia, do you know what you are to me?" he asked, and I shook my head no.
This time, Victor did take his shirt off. I guessed there was some stripping after all. Once his shirt was off, I stared at his tanned body with tattoos covering most of his hands and shoulders. But the one that got my full attention was my name in full black ink, right on top of his heart.
"This one," he said, pointing to my name. "It wasn't made by a needle. The Goddess made this one. The moon Goddess decided to gift all the wolf descendants with mates. Your name was carved onto my chest. The second I saw you sleeping in that car, I knew you were mine," he said, making my mouth fall open.
"I…I…" I stuttered.
"You only have to accept me as yours, Sophia. If you do, my wolf and your wolf side will be connected for life," he said.
"I don't have a wolf side," I said. If I could turn into a wolf or were a descendant of the moon Goddess, I would've known.
"You are, baby. You are a quarter wolf," he replied with a smirk.
"How?" I asked in disbelief.
"Your mother is a half-breed. Her mother before her was a full wolf," he explained.
I never knew my grandma. Mother grew up with her father only. If what Victor said was true, then I was a quarter of a wolf.
"Can I?" I asked, excited. Could I change too?
"No, baby, you can't. I'm sorry. But you may be able to hear your wolf side," he added.
"I have a wolf side?" I asked again.
"Yes, you'll be able to hear her. She won't be able to shift, but she'll still want to play with her mate," he explained to me.
"Do I get a tattoo too?" I asked.
"No. Only the more dominant one gets the tattoo," he said with a smirk.
"What does that mean?" I asked.
Victor pinned me against the tree trunk with both my hands above my head while he whispered in my ear, "That means only daddies and Mommies get tattoos. Pretty little girls like you don't. I'm sorry, baby," he explained to me, making me smile and maybe slip a little.
"Me pway with wolfie?" I asked. I had already named his wolf side. Well, just for me.
He just looked at me and shook his head with a smile before turning back into his wolf form and letting me play with him.
