It was midnight in some areas, but this area was fortunate, known for its tranquility, inhabited by mostly well-mannered individuals. This civility wasn't by chance; it was because it was considered one of the safest suburbs in the city.
On this quiet night, a Toyota, one of the most expensive cars, was speeding along the road. If anything had suddenly appeared in front of it, nothing would have remained alive inside. The car pulled over next to a tree by the roadside, near the main asphalt road. It was just a few hours before the time Jason had promised in his announcement that he would return lawyer Yasinta to the community.
Jason had come to find the woman he believed must be in the area, and his calculations couldn't deceive him. He had covered his face with a black cloth, leaving only his eyes visible, wearing all black clothes to avoid being recognized. He didn't want his face to be recognized, which is why the car he was using didn't have a license plate. He stepped out of the car and headed directly towards a narrow path leading to an area with dense trees. In the midst of the trees stood a large luxurious house.
He walked slowly until he reached the house, pausing for a moment to listen for any signs of nearby people. All he heard was smoke rising from inside the gate. He smiled when he realized it was the guards smoking inside. He took a few steps back and took out two small cutters for the electric wires. He did this because there were electric wires running above the tall gate, and if he touched them even slightly, he would be electrocuted. He walked swiftly and then ran three meters, tapping the wall with one foot, leaping upwards, and then landing again, using the wires as a balancing act to land safely inside.
Using the cutters, he severed the wires, causing sparks to fly, and threw the cutters inside before leaping like a cat and landing silently inside.
Thirty meters away, a man dressed in military attire was smoking heavily. He felt like he saw something suddenly and saw distant sparks, but when he turned towards the source, he only crossed paths with a distant shadow. His instincts told him someone else was in the area, but his mind refused to accept it. The fence around the house was too high for anyone to jump without making a sound, which his mind vehemently rejected.
He cautiously approached to check if his thoughts were correct or if the cigarette smoke was clouding his judgment. Arriving at the scene, he was surprised to see the high electric wires cut, intended for the fence's protection. Wondering what had happened, he felt as if someone was behind him, as he caught a whiff of someone's scent. He swiftly turned, readying his weapon, but unfortunately, it was too late. As he turned, he was struck by a heavy blow to his right ribs, wishing to say something but only managing to let out a muffled groan that wouldn't even reach someone twenty meters away.
He couldn't believe that it was a human fist that struck him, as it was as heavy as a large hammer used for smashing metal. He was hit on the neck with a palm, causing his neck to snap instantly, robbing him of his status as a living human being.
"Iqram, hey Iqram, don't tell me those cigarettes have gotten you so high that you've fallen asleep. Come over here; the bosses might find you like this any moment now," called out another man's voice as he approached the area where Jason had just killed the man wearing the military uniform.
The man noticed an eerie silence in the area, which made him anxious. In his nervousness, he saw a body lying on the ground, and because the lights in the area were dim, he had to take out his phone to shine a light on the scene. He was shocked to see his colleague's body lying there with a twisted neck and eyes wide open as if he could still see, even though he was already dead.
He went to wake his colleague, but to his astonishment, he found the man's neck twisted and his eyes open. He stood up and was about to scream when he suddenly fell to the ground after turning around and bumping into someone's chest, a chest as hard as a tree trunk.
"Ah, a grown man given the task of guarding a place like this, and you're so scared that you want to start causing trouble by screaming at this hour of the night?" Jason said as he moved closer to where the man had fallen, his gun beside him.
“Who are you?” the man asked, standing up and clenching his fists.
“Stop wasting the little strength you have. You could use it for something meaningful, like supporting your family. I want to know where the girl is being kept, how many people are currently here, and where the three guards of this place are,” Jason demanded.
The question seemed absurd to the man, as if Jason was mocking him by asking a guard about the other guards. The guard gritted his teeth in anger and got up with a flip from where he had fallen, positioning his hands to fight. Jason shook his head in disappointment, seeing the man too weak to be a worthy opponent.
The man moved forward and threw a punch in a fury, but it was Jason didn’t want to hit him too hard, knowing it could kill him. Instead, he struck just enough to weaken him so he could get answers. The man started to cry softly, a sound audible only to someone close by, certainly not more than seven meters away.
“I’ll talk, I’ll talk,” he pleaded as Jason moved closer, fearing more pain or death like his fallen comrade.
“You have a very weak body. It will take you a year and a half to recover fully. Now, tell me, where is the woman hidden? How many of you are here, and where are the three guards?” Jason asked, inspecting the man’s ID.
“What can I tell you now that you already know about the three guards? It means you know everything. This place is so secret that no one would suspect anything inside. How did you manage to get here with all this information, and now you expect me to give you more details about this area? I think you know more about this place than I do. Even the questions you’re asking seem like you’re just mocking me,” the man explained, tears streaming down his face.
He was bewildered that Jason had found this highly secret location.
