Asharose, was extremely angry because since arriving in Tanzi, neither her father nor her brother, who was supposed to pick her up, bothered to call to check if she had arrived safely. This sudden neglect filled her with intense resentment, and she didn't even want to go home after seeing how her own family seemed to care so little. She decided to seek solace in a hotel, where she could calm her mind and start afresh. She had made a vow that upon arrival, she would investigate the deaths of the president and the chief justice.
After settling into the hotel, she slept until morning. When she woke up, she decided to check social media to see what was happening. Everywhere she looked, she saw posters with news that had spread widely on social media. She was surprised to find these posts, written by someone she couldn't identify, but one piece of news particularly pleased her—the promise that Yasinta Kobe, the missing lawyer, would be returned within the next two days. This brought her great joy because it meant she might finally have the chance to meet her colleague and ask the questions she had in mind.
After reading through all the news about what was happening in her country, she decided to take some time to rest. She wanted to be well-rested for the next day when she would wake up and start work, officially beginning her task of investigating every aspect of the events that had unfolded. She had seen that justice had not been served anywhere, and she was determined to change that.

The intense cold startled her from her sleep. Yasinta Kobe opened her eyes and found herself trembling, her body enveloped in an unprecedented chill. For the first time, she felt as though she might be in one of the coldest countries on earth, but her mind refused to accept that. Now, she found herself wondering where she had been all this time. There was no one to give her answers except herself, as she racked her brain to find a solution.
She settled a bit when she realized she was bound in a room with a bed in front of her. She wanted to rise and go to the bed, feeling exhausted, but she discovered she wasn't as free as she initially thought. She tried to turn her head to see where she was bound, but the bright light from the numerous lamps prevented her from seeing clearly.
Her memories took her back to the moment she was kidnapped. She recalled being at home and the sudden invasion of her home by those people. She lost hope of surviving when she realized they had captured her. She knew they wouldn't spare her life, as she was aware of many secrets related to their actions.
Lost in these thoughts, fearing death, she was startled when she heard the door being opened. Two men, dressed in military attire, entered. One remained at the door while the other approached Yasinta. She was filled with great apprehension.
"Beautiful as you are, what makes you decide to get yourself into such a big risk like this? Aren't you afraid that you might lose your worth?" the man spoke, holding her chin, which was very smooth due to the fresh oil touching her skin. She didn't respond; she remained silent. The man didn't bother much; he began to undress, and that's when Yasinta screamed.
"Please forgive me, let me go, let me go," she screamed, feeling the intense cold inside. Cold water had been poured on her, and the air conditioning was on, making her body feel an unusual chill.
"So, you can speak? I thought you were mute. Let me practically teach you how to talk to people," the man said, laughing.
Yasinta found herself becoming even more frightened, and as the coldness began to diminish, she felt pressure building up in her body, causing her to feel warmth. She felt extreme coldness on her feet; she quickly pulled her feet up after realizing that the water had reached the floor. Throughout, she had kept her feet on the edge of the chair, so the pressure made her put her feet down, and that's when she realized the floor was extremely cold.
"Okay, I need your statement. Where did you get these videos, and who gave them to you?" the man asked, fastening his belt, which he had begun to open for Yasinta. There was no response; silence remained. Yasinta felt a hard slap across her face, causing tears to flow.
"It's a great disrespect to talk in front of a woman and she just looks at me disdainfully without answering. To me, that's a great disrespect because it reminds me of the time when women used to reject me, saying I was ugly and poor, leading them to disrespect me greatly. It affected me so much that I harbored a lot of resentment towards women. When I finally got money and started living a good life, many women cried because of the foolishness of their peers. So, it will be the same for you; I will do something very bad to you, something you won't believe forever," the man emphasized, staring at Yasinta, who was trying hard to avoid direct eye contact with him. He took out his gun and cocked it, causing Yasinta to tremble and cry, but before the man could do anything, his phone rang from his pocket.
"Yes, boss," he answered and listened attentively to the other end of the line.
"I understand, boss," he replied shortly, returning his gun to his waist.
"You're very lucky; the boss will come to question you once he finishes his other tasks. Otherwise, I would have done something very bad to you, and even now, I'll repeat it," he finished his threats and followed his companion out the door.
That was Yasinta's narrow escape; she thanked God for giving her another chance to continue breathing on this earth.
