Within thirty-five minutes, the IGP was getting inside the CDF gate, his car was very well known, so he went through without worry. He went straight to the back of the house, a very nice woman brought him coffee which was a favourite thing for the old man and then she gave him instructions that the CDF was unavailable but would return within the next fifteen minutes. it was not too difficult for him to wait there while he drank his coffee.
Twenty minutes was enough to hear footsteps that he had no doubt belonged to the commander of the army who had arrived. looking ahead at the beautiful trees, he said in a very quiet voice.
"Every time I hear the sound from those shoes, I always remember a long time ago. that year the five of us were in the army training, we fought for everything. The day one of our friends died saving you is one of my worst stories but it is one very good memory in our lives as friends." he took a breath to let those words sink in well.
"We became the best of friends that ever happened in this world. there were four of us who vowed to carry each other and help each other in every step of our lives and it remained so even when our colleague succeeded in becoming the president of the country. He did not leave any of us behind. he gave everyone a unit they wanted and could handle but among us all, we relied a lot on the chief judge because he helped us a lot and he was the person we relied on in all our plans, he was the most intelligent person among the four of us but even so it has been a great blow to lose all our friends in a very confusing environment and in a very short time." he spoke and downed his coffee.
The commander of the army was listening while standing in an army jacket that pleased him very much with his shoulders full of stars of various titles. He moved to the side and sat on the chair that was big enough for two people, he took out a small but very strong alcohol that was in the cabinet, handed it to his friend and continued to drink while frowning fiercely.
"Life has no real meaning, the way we live it gives us the right interpretation of how we should take it. this is the only thing I can do for a friend who decided to give his life that day for me, the rope he threw towards me while he decided fell so that I could grab it and survive. He ended up falling on the sharp stones, so it always hurt me a lot, but later I realized that everything that happens in life has a very serious reason behind it. There was a very serious reason and this is what happened. I always love him"
"He was very fond of this alcohol and since the day he died, I swore that I would drink this alcohol until the day I die and that is what I do every day. Having friends who are like family to you is always the best thing in human life especially when you get a chance to enjoy yourself with your friends, as you said we lived more than brothers, the four of us who were left and that is why until today we have all lived well because we decided to fight for one to fulfil his dream, but if everyone would get to be jealous of each other, we would end up as brawlers if not rapists in the street, but now we choose what to eat and where to go because we have everything in life. we will go through a very difficult time, losing these two very important people in our lives. I will pray for them every day so that they can rest in peace because they have done great things for us and our country as well" the honourable CDF spoke while adding another drink in his mouth.
This made the IGP smile painfully because they were not talking to please each other but rather their conversation was to remind themselves of the happy times that they lived when they were with their colleagues.
"I knew that there was death, but I never thought that we would start disappearing one by one miraculously and with very horrible deaths like this. It brings me fear because I don't know if tomorrow you will follow or if it will be me. there is a time I wish I could continue believing in the world but I can't. I can't even trust myself yet and I don't have an answer to give. So what do you do when you find out that someone very important in your life is very aggressively reducing the lives of other people who are also as important as he in your life?" The IGP asked something that really shocked the CDF. The question was a trap, he looked up at the sky and then returned his eyes to the ground.
"If that person can cause serious harm to others, then it is clear that he should not be among them or anyone because he will not be part of their happiness, he will cause the little happiness that exists among his colleagues to disappear. He should not be in a group of those people in any way, be it by force or willingly, he has to be let go" IGP was listening very carefully to the explanation. He drank the alcohol again until he shed tears because of how strong the alcohol was.
"This alcohol should be drunk in the cold, it is very hot. now what if that person is among you and me?" he asked this time while he was staring at the CDF, the CDF wondered why he was asking him those questions.
"What do you mean?"
"You know you are my friend, even more than a friend, we have already become brothers, please tell me what you are hiding from me in the murder of the chief judge?"
"Oh, so you don't believe me. what can I hide from you about my friend? Does it mean that these days you don't trust me, my brother?"
"It's not like that, I never said I didn't believe you. you know what happened to Mark, secrets are going on about his death. after that incident we found his phone, I sent the phone to my guys so we could find out if there were people he had problems with before he died, it was true that there was a number who threatened him one night before the trial, that if he did something reckless and sentenced the prisoner then he and his family would be killed. The messages continued until the morning before he entered the trial room and even after leaving there, there was a message that asked him to go home within fifteen minutes to save his family" he coughed a little and then continued
"But among the messages that were found there, there is a message that was sent one time before getting to court and another that threatened him and promised him ten billion, but even after he got out of the courtroom, there is another message that was sent together with the message. After investigation, I found one number which was used by you, after finding it I decided to take all the evidence and give other responsibilities to my men. Now I need you to tell me the truth, how are you involved in Mark's murder and if it is true, why? What is going on, why would you kill our brother?" the series of explanations and questions that he was asked made him bow down for five minutes and then he raised his face and looked at the IGP
"I can't kill someone close to me like that, why would I kill him? How do I kill my friend with whom we have come from nothing together? I'm not here to kill people, I'm here to make sure the citizens of this country are safe, the country's borders are safe and even the honourable president is safe. How would I kill Mark? I did that because I knew that the video would cause serious problems, that's why I told him not to make those decisions" he calmed down after answering. The IGP looked hard at his friend because he gave him very easy answers.
"I have not come here because for that matter, if it is important to talk about it, then we will meet again but if you hide it from me, then it may bring you very big problems because now the matter is not in my hands. It is in someone else's hands, who promised to follow it up himself"
"Oh, who is that?" His question made the IGP look closely at his colleague
"Jason."
"Who is that?"
