Author’s POV
"Never, I can doubt myself once but not my Aashi and why are you talking about dying, I want to grow old with you" he said looking into her eyes but her words were scaring him but he shrugged it thinking that all was well between them now.
They didn’t know for how long they stood like this but a loud knock at the door broke their beautiful moment.
“I hate it” he groaned in irritation, to which she laughed making his heart flatter.
"Are you not laughing a lot???" he glared at her making a fake angry face to which she wrapped her hands around his neck and said standing on her toes "now what can I do when you look so cute"
He pulled her closer by holding her waist and husked in her ear "My kitten, I can be anything but not cute but it seems that in the last one week you have forgotten but this is my promise that after tonight you will won't forget"
her smile fell after listening to him that she was going to New York in the next few moments.
His playful mood vanished when he noticed how her smile had suddenly disappeared and her eyes were filled with pain and an emotion, he couldn’t decipher but it was scary.
His heart started screaming again and again that something was wrong, he should ask her but before he could open his mouth the door of the room opened and Karan walked in who thought something might had happened because of which, they were not opening the door even after knocking several times but when he saw Aashi in Vishant's arms, he understood that his timing was wrong again.
Aashi made little distance between them immediately.
He was happy that finally his brother had got some senses that what was right and what was not??
“Sorry, I didn't know you guys patched up” Karan said in his defence raising his hands in the air as he saw Vishant glaring at him.
"Before you plan my murder in your mind, let me tell you that our Russian client has arrived with whom we have an important meeting, so please come out in 10 minutes." Karan shut the door.
“I swear I will make this man to sleep in the garden on his wedding night then he realizes my pain” Vishant whispered under his breath and turned to her who was still looking at him with strange emotions.
"Aashi please forgive me. I wanted to spend more time with you but this meeting is very important and I promise you that as soon as I will be free from the meeting, I will only be with you so will you please wait here for me" he asked her apologetically while his heart was screaming that he should not go.
He didn’t understand why he was feeling like this when everything was fine now and this time, he was ready to fulfil his promise without any cheating.
She just nodded her head as she had nothing else to say. She couldn’t tell him that she was going away from him.
"Aashi, is there anything that you are hiding from me" finally he asked, hearing which she gave him a painful smile, but before she could say anything again, they heard a knock on the door. He growled.
He wanted to talk to her right now but he knew that it was not possible right now so he decided to finish the meeting as soon as possible and come to her, unaware of the fact that when he returned, she will not be here for him.
"Don't go anywhere and wait for me, I will be back in a while" he said kissing her on forehead to which she closed her eyes to store this moment in her memory forever.
"Yes, we have to wait, you go Bhai (brother) is waiting for you" she said opening her eyes. she was smiling but her eyes were crying.
"Please wait for me and I want to tell you that if handing over your father to the law makes you happy, I am ready for that but not for losing you because if I lose you, I will die. I love you more than me." He didn’t know why but he wanted to share this with her before leaving.
He kissed her on the top of her head and walked out of the room giving her a sweet smile, unaware of the fact that he was going to lose her.
"Why is my heart beating so fast??? Why do I feel like something is going to happen" he murmured while keeping his hand on his heart which started thumping crazily with every passing moment.
One by one tears started falling from her eyes as soon as the door of the room closed.
She doesn’t want to leave.
Her heart was begging her not to do this but her mind protested to her "Aashi don't even try to listen to your heart. You always listened to it and you got only pain in return. Please don't get weak from Vishant's words, he is ready for your wish to get your love right now but don't forget that if you didn't know about this, he wouldn't have given a fuck to his promise to you, let him learn to value you and you learn to give importance to yourself."
Her mind was right, she couldn’t listen to her heart. She had to go for their better future.
She got up wiping her tears and left from there with a heavy heart keeping the letter she had brought with her on his table.
