Author’s POV

"Papa, I, Mahi and Aashi love you very much, please stop this madness and surrender yourself to the police." Hearing Ajay, Rajat separated him from himself and wiped the tears from his face and asked him what was eating him from inside ever since he came to know that his horrible truth had been revealed to his children "do you all hate me??"

Ajay immediately shook his head keeping his hands on his hands which were on his cheeks "No papa, we don't hate you and how can we hate the person who gave us all the happiness of this world which is not in everyone's fate. Our love for you has not diminished even for a second, we love the one who would do anything for us, the one for whom we are his world, the one who would never take a bite himself without feeding us, the one who never left us alone for a second when we were burning with fever but you have disappointed us a lot, you have broken our trust. you broke our trust. You were a superhero for us papa, we used to think that you can never do anything wrong, then how did you do this much wrong???" Finally, Ajay asked him what he wanted to ask since the moment he came to know the dark side of his father which he was unaware of for years.

Rajat lowered his eyes not because he was ashamed of what he had done but because he could no longer look into his son's eyes.

He loved his children beyond limits and would do anything for them but there was one thing he could not do for them was to forget Nandini.

He was the only son of his parents and their over pampering had spoiled him, he became short tempered and stubborn because of which none of the kids wanted to be friends with him but one day a cute little girl came to his house whom he had never seen. When he asked her name, she said in her sweet voice giving him a big smile and looking at him with her twinkling eyes, moving her pigtails "My name iz (is) Nandini but my father calls me Nandu because he loved me cho (so) much and if you want you can also call me Nandu".

She became his first friend for whom he first became protective and then when his protectiveness turned into obsession, to such an extent that he wanted her only for him, even if he had to be imprisoned for her.

He never even thought of life without Nandini but when he got the news of her death, he felt that everything was over for him, but when his children came in his life, they gave him a new purpose to live and he moved on in his life but he had never been able to get Nandini out of his memory and when he saw her again, his obsession and yearning came out in the form of a storm that took the lives of Nandini and Parag with it.

After Nandini, he was left with only his children who were proud of him, but today his son was saying that he was disappointed with him, it was most painful site for him.

"What do you want me to do?" Rajat asked him in low tone to which Ajay closed his eyes as it was not easy for him but he knew it was right in every sense "You surrender yourself to the police, please don't commit any more crimes."

"OK" was the one word that came out of Rajat's mouth and he took two steps back and turned towards Karan and Vishant who was looking at him with doubts in their eyes that he really agreed to surrender himself so easily.

"I am ready to surrender myself to the police" he said as there was no other option left for him. He was happy to know that his kids didn't hate him which was enough for him and even if he had lost the war, if he got his children’s love by bowing down, then he was ready to do this.

Tejpal asked an officer to handcuff him and retreated back.

“This is right for everyone” Karan said to Vishant who was exceptionally calm but his eyes were still spewing lava while Vishant was raging inside whether this was right?? Should he leave Rajat in the hands of the law or deal with him as he had decided from the beginning??

He didn't understand what to do, so he decided of going with the flow but he still wanted to warn Rajat that he had again done something that will cause trouble to his family. He will not leave him as he still had a secret with him that his children were unaware of which was so powerful that the children who loved him after knowing his truth may never even look back at him.

Karan took Ajay outside as he was not in his senses.

He walked to him who was standing silently without any protest and looked at him with his sharp eyes before leaning on his ear and said in his cold tone which only he could hear "You know I want to give you the most painful death but a promise tied my hands otherwise You can't even imagine what I can do with you. You are a dark soul but God has blessed you with the purest souls in the form of your children who love you as much as they used to do before knowing your truth  but they don't know that the father whom they love blindly is responsible for their mother's death. Shall I tell them that you are the murderer of their mother??"

Rajat's eyes widened with fear and an expression of shock appeared on his face that how did he came to know about this secret because no one knew about it.

"H…How did y….you know??" Rajat asked this stammering in fear to which he smirked wickedly  taking back his head and said in dark tone "It shouldn't matter to you how I know about this, if matters anything, was your secret safe with me??? let's make a deal like a businessman you will never come back to our life and like a good man you will be served punishments for your crimes which you are not and I will keep your secret safe with me but the moment you have done something that you should not have done, then I will tell your secret to your children and you are smart enough to know that what will happen after that."

He saw Rajat for the last time, who was sweating in fear and his eyes were just showing one emotion, fear, which was enough to tell him that his was done. 

He turned on his shoes and walked out where Karan was standing with Ajay who looked devasted and vulnerable.

Rajat snapped out of his thoughts when someone grabbed him by the arm harshly and dragged him outside where he saw Vishant who was saying something to Ajay and tears were flowing from his eyes which instilled a fear in his heart that maybe he was telling Ajay his secret which he never wanted to come out.

He was ready to surrender himself to the police a while ago thinking that at least his children would not hate him, but when he learned that Vishant knew his darkest secret, a strange fear raised inside him. He started thinking that if he revealed his secret to them, then his children will start hating him which he couldn’t allow to happen.
