Chapter 16 PUTTING ACTS TOGETHER!

Chapter 16 PUTTING ACTS TOGETHER!
"We meet again.” Sophia says to Max when they step out of the restaurant and find him waiting next to a limousine with the door held open.
“Sophia, this is Max, my chauffeur.” Callum introduces stopping next to her. “He also doubles as my personal assistance.” He turns to Max, “Miss Sophia. My … fiancée.” He says tucking his hands into his pockets. It was time he started rehearsing the word and act.
Smiling at Max. “Hello Max, nice to meet you.” She says offering him a hand.
He bows, taking her hand in a handshake. “Nice to meet you too, Miss Sophia.” Max says. Then he stands up and turns to look at his boss. “Where do I take you, Sir?”
“Our hangout spot. Ethan is waiting there.” He says, placing his right hand on Sophia’s lower back as he guides her into the car. Max closes the door behind them before turning over to his side of the car.
Turning to face him inside the car. “I still believe you should have let me stop by the house and change into something else if you said we are meeting your best friend.” Sophia says.
“Why? I believe you look amazing in what you are wearing right now.” He says pouring her a glass of wine.
She takes the wine he was offering. “Thank you, but … I still believe another dress would have been better. This was for meeting you, I would have asked what kind of person your friend is, and then dress to meet his expectation.”
“Nonsense.” He says taking a sip of his wine. “Ethan may be my friend, but you do not have to dress to please him. I do not care what he expects. Be you, around him, nothing more. He has no such powers.” He says crossing his legs just as the car begins to move.
She nods. “Alright, if you say so.” Sophia says. She takes a sip. “Now let’s try putting our acts together. What is my name?”
“Sophia Bennett. Born and grew up in the States. We met at Washington Dc while I was there on business four months ago.” He rolls his eyes. “It was love at first sight, even though we acted as enemies at first. You thought I was too proud, I thought you were a gold digger. I proposed a month ago while you were grieving the loss of a family member without a ring, but you said yes, because we were in love with each other. Weeks ago, you decided to move over here so we can be closer to each other. We wanted to be married by next month, but I had to move it up to tomorrow, and you were fine with it, after all, we are in love with each other.”
Sophia smiles, taking another sip of her wine. “Excellent, there we have it.” She says.
“Your turn.” Callum says nodding at her.
“Callum Kennington, born in Dallas, grew up in Mexico, moved to Spain years ago for business. We met in Washington DC where I thought you were the most obnoxious and self absorbed person on earth. We kept running into each other unplanned, and eventually, we had to settle our differences and start talking to each other. And that is how we fell in love. Months later, you proposed without a ring, and I said yes, because we were madly in love with each other.” She watched him as he rolls his eyes at the words, and it made her laugh. “Weeks ago, I finally decided to make the big decision and move closer to you, here, in Barcelona. We were planning to be married next month, but you suddenly moved it to tomorrow and I am completely fine with it because -” her phone rings. Her brows furrow. Who was calling her? “Excuse me.” Sophia says taking the phone out of her clutch bag and looking at it.
Eth.
Sliding the phone into vibration, she puts it down beside her, and looks back up at Callum whose eyes were on her. “Sorry about that. Where was I?” she asks.
“Why we had to be married tom-” her phone begins to vibrate. “Maybe you should pick the call.”
Smiling, Sophia shakes her head. “No. I will call him later.”
“A he?”
“A friend. He has been meaning to see me since I arrived here in Barcelona, but … I have been busy. I will call him later and fix a meeting.” Sophia says.
“Should I be concerned?” he asks, his eyes still on her.
She shakes her head. “Not at all. Like I said earlier, he is just a friend.”
Nodding, “If you say so.”
“Where did we have our first date?” Sophia asks him.
“At the Sims in Washington.” Callum answers.
“First sleepover? First night?”
“The Reynolds.” He answers. “We spent two days there together before I finally left for Spain again.”
Sophia nods. “Beautiful.”
“Did you know who I am the first time we met?” He asks.
“No. Although I suspected you may be someone with some fortune because of how arrogant you were. I only found out two months later who you really were, but I was too in love with you to even think of ending things, despite my hatred for business men.” Sophia answers with a smile. “You had done a great job of hiding who you were till then.”
He nods. “My favorite color?” he asks.
“Black. Although I plan to add many blue to your life now that we will be getting married.” She says.
“Worst color?” he asks.
“You hate anything colorful. But pink is the worst of them. White and black are your go to every time.”
“Favorite eatery?”
“D’Casala. It is where we had our first date in Spain.” Sophia answers also crossing her leg. “My turn. My favorite color?”
“Blue. Although I always tell you how you look much more lovely in anything at all.”
“Hmm!” Sophia says, her right index circling the rim of her glass. “What is the name of the last movie I worked on before I called it quit?” she asks.
“Vianto Empire.” He answers. “I thought you needed a rest from all the stress of jumping from set to set. But I am beginning to get use to the entire idea and you are planning to return to the big screen once we return from our honey moon.”
“About that,” Sophia begins. “If I am going back to the big screen, then I will need my agency with me. They are currently back at the States, Mira and Martins. They are my crew. They ran everything for me, starting from my schedule to –
“We can have them relocate.” Callum says.
Shaking her head. “That is a big move, I doubt Martin will be willing to make it.” Sophia says.
“I just need to make him the right offer then.” Callum says. “One he cannot resist. Would you like to call him?”
“Now?” she asks with
a raised brow.
“Now.” He says with a smile.
