EIGHTY-SEVEN

EIGHTY-SEVEN

RAYNA’S POV

I was just
coming from the guest room Drake told me I would be staying in whistling
happily to myself. The trick worked, it really did, I never expected Drake to
fall for the ‘I lost my dad and I need you bullshit,’ but he did believe me. I
hate my dad infact when I got the call that he passed away, I was overjoyed and
I silently prayed that my mother would be next. You can call me a bitch or
whatever, but I don’t care. My parents took away my joy and turned me into what
they believed to be a perfect version of a daughter.

I decided to
come here because of how much I missed Drake and I needed to stay here for some
time with him. I was overjoyed when he said I could stay in his house for
sometime. Gosh it was exactly what I prayed for before I embarked on this
journey. My joy died immediately I saw his bitch walking so fast like she was
in a hurry to pee. I knew Drake has great taste in women I mean I’m a good
example, but I was so disappointed the first time I saw her like what the hell.
She looks like a hungry kwashiorkor patient that got a taste of wealth that
doesn’t even suit her.

When we meet
in the hall way, I discovered that this bitch seriously has some balls and
audacity to her rather irritating frame. She told me that she met me and
discovered I wasn’t worth the hype. Can you believe it?

I seriously
wasn’t expecting that comment from her. I blinked and became mute for a second.
The silence between us snapped tight. The tension was diverting from subtle
jabs to something more dangerous.

I laughed.

‘Is that
bitterness I hear? I suppose it’s hard watching a man like Drake give someone
else his attention.’

Her brows
lifted. ‘You mean your man? Is that what this is, Rayna? Are you here to
mark territory?’

I walked
closer to her ‘Just a friendly reminder bitch’ I said, my voice becoming icy, ‘Whatever
arrangement you have with Drake, it won’t last. He gets bored. He always does. The
only person he doesn’t get bored of is me.’

‘That’s Funny,’
she replied, stepping in closer too. ‘You sound like someone who knows exactly
what it feels like to be replaceable.’

My mouth
widened and my expression faltered for a moment before I snapped back into a
cool mask. ‘You think you know him now that you are warming his bed? Oh common
girl I know you cry especially when you see him bringing in different girls to
the same room you guys share. You think Drake loves you, that’s funny because Drake
doesn’t do love.’

She laughed
and shook her heads slowly ‘And yet here you are, still hoping he’ll pick you.
How pathetic.’

My jaw
tightened. How dare this rotten fool talk to me in this manner? Has she
forgotten who she is speaking to?

She
continued ‘I know you came here thinking I would be some weak, naive Luna who would
back down if you threw a little venom my way. But you forgot something.’ She
stepped closer, our body was touching now. ‘I’m the one who lives with him. I’m
the one he wakes up next to..I’m’

I hissed and
interrupted her immediately ‘You think that makes you special?’

‘I don’t
care about being special to Drake,’ She snapped. ‘But you..you came here
hoping to intimidate me because deep down, you know he’s starting to look at me
differently. And that scares the hell out of you.’

My eyes
flashed with fury because she was right. She was so right. I came down here to
be with Drake to remind him of the good moments we once shared so that he
wouldn’t forget.

‘Shut the
fuck up’ I warned her. I didn’t want to say that but it just escaped my lips,
and she smiled at me because she knew her words were starting to get to me.

‘Oh poor
Rayna,’ She said, her voice sweet and sharp. ‘So, let me guess. He used to call
you when he needed to forget the pain. Now he doesn’t even pick up your calls
or he claims to be busy. That’s why you’re here again? To remind him how good
you used to be at making him feel better. How fucking hilarious.’ She said with
a laugh.

Oh, this
bitch is getting on my nerves, I raised my hand to slap her but she saw it
coming, and dodged it.

She didn’t step
back she just laughed at me and said ‘Oh dear dear dear, I just hit a nerve
right?’ she asked, winking at me.

I stared at her,
breathing hard. Imagining how someone in this low level would dare stand up to
me.

‘You are
going to regret talking to me in this manner’ I threatened her.

‘Whatever
Rayna, I’m going to see Drake now. We have things to discuss’ She said, turning
away.
