CHAPTER EIGHTY-THREE
CHAPTER EIGHTY-THREE
Simon POV
She was here.
Standing in front of me.
I never thought I would see her again so quickly.
Not after the bathroom incident anyway.
But here she was.
Like a moth to a flame.
Looking as beautiful as earlier this evening.
I wasn’t supposed to be here.
After the party.
Or should I say…
After that strange encounter I left.
Firstly, in search of her.
But she had disappeared.
Like Cinderella.
Then I just started walking.
I couldn’t drive as I had one too many.
But I didn’t mind the walk.
Something so peaceful about not having somewhere to be.
Just you and the open road, so to speak.
The night was beautiful.
And I just couldn’t stop thinking about her.
I know our meeting was unconventional to say the least but…
I don’t know.
Was I being ridiculous to think that it was a coincidence.
I can only speak on behalf of myself.
Our meeting was not a coincidence.
Her parents were talking her up for the entire night.
I had to meet the woman they were raving about.
She seemed too good to be true.
As soon as I saw her sneak away from her parents and head to the bar, I knew I had to know her.
Away from them.
As I watched her sitting there.
I got a sense of loneliness written across her face.
It was hard to picture someone as beautiful as she was being lonely.
Nether the less I made my way over.
As I did, I heard her asking for a shot.
I guess she wasn’t enjoying this luxury party.
This wasn’t really my thing either.
But being an investor I had no choice but to come to these things.
They were rather exhausting at times.
A load of rich folks praising each other over making even more money.
Made me sick to the stomach.
But that was the part I had to play.
The burden I was dealt with when I took over my family’s business.
I guess I saw it as a duty of sorts.
But I couldn’t stand any of these people.
I guess she was feeling the same.
I slid into the seat next to hers.
She was asking the bartender for another.
All I could think was…
‘Boy she can really put it away.’
“Easy there.”
I said.
I don’t know why it just slipped out.
She looked at me with a smug on her face.
“Easy yourself.”
She replied.
And from the moment I saw her eyes I knew I was done for.
I asked the bartender to get me a whiskey.
Neat.
On the rocks.
She chuckled and asked for another shot.
If she didn’t slow down, she’d be wasted before the night was over.
And I don’t think her parents would like that one bit.
You know, appearances and all.
Wouldn’t want anyone to look sloppy.
Especially not their daughter.
And even more especially not in front of this sort of crowd.
I start to chuckle.
She has the ‘I don’t give a fuck’ attitude on her face.
She knew exactly what I was thinking.
And she was right.
Why should she give a fuck.
I’m guessing she doesn’t want to be here as much as I don’t.
Being paraded around like some monkey doing tricks.
“Simon.”
I extend my hand to her.
She looks at it like it’s an alien or something.
She doesn’t take it.
“Amy.”
Was all I got.
She was coy.
Playing hard to get I assumed.
“So…”
I begin.
“What’s a pretty girl like you doing in a place like this.”
I know.
So unoriginal.
But it got her to smile at least.
She looks towards me.
“Really.”
“That’s your pickup line.”
“Very original.”
She laughs.
Which makes me laugh.
“You know you have the most beautiful smile.”
This stopped her in her tracks.
Had no one ever told her this before.
“So, Simon.”
“What’s a guy like you doing in a place like this.”
She has my full attention.
“Business.”
“Ah.”
She rolls her eyes.
“Your one of those.”
I tilt my head.
“One of…”
“Snobs.”
She interrupts.
I start chuckling again.
“I can assure you I’m not like those people out there.”
“I’m only here because I have to be.”
“I would much rather be sat next to a beautiful woman at a bar drinking shots.”
She starts chuckling again.
“God, I love that sound.”
She starts to blush.
“And you?”
“Why are you in a place you don’t seem to want to be in?”
She looks dead serious.
“My parents forced me to come.”
“I’m thinking about leaving my current job and they basically brought me here to mingle.”
“To bag another job.”
She doesn’t look too, happy about that.
“They said there was no way I was going to live with them and be jobless.”
“I told them I would find a job on my own, but they weren’t having any of it.”
“So, here I am.”
“I haven’t even quit yet.”
The sadness was on her face once again.
It wasn’t a nice thing to see.
Up this close.
It was heartbreaking.
“Well touché.”
And I raised my glass to her.
Backed the whiskey in it.
As it went down it burnt a little.
A welcoming feeling.
Meant I could focus on that for the moment instead of wanting to storm over to her parents and give them what for.
For making her feel so sad.
I needed to use the restroom.
Calm myself.
I didn’t want her to see me lose my cool.
Or anyone else for that matter.
There was a time and place for everything.
And this wasn’t it.
Even I knew that.
I scoot my stool out a little.
“Will you excuse me I have to use the restroom.”
She looked up at me.
“Sure.”
As I left Amy at the bar and headed to the gentleman’s toilets, I realised I could feel myself becoming rather irritated.
I wasn’t sure why though.
Clearly, the thought of Amy being unhappy bothered me more than I liked.
Strange.
I’d only just met the girl.
As I entered the restroom I heard another pair pf footsteps behind me.
Another man possibly.
But these sounded ever so light.
Whoever it was clearly was a fairy.
I heard the door lock behind me.
As I turned to see who it was, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it was her.
Amy.
What was she doing in here.
I was about to ask that same question when all of a sudden.
She was on her knees in front of me.
Before I could comprehend what was happening, she had my trousers and boxers down in one swift swoop.
And had my cock in her mouth.
I wasn’t going to lie.
Her mouth on the tip of my head had me feeling some sort of way I hadn’t felt in such a long time.
I could feel myself growing in her mouth within seconds.
She was good.
Like…
Really good.
Dare I say a pro.
She knew exactly what she was doing.
As she stroked my girth up and down her mouth went to work sucking and licking.
I could feel myself becoming rather close to my climax.
Fast.
She sped up.
She could feel me tense.
She knew I was almost there.
Faster and faster her hands and mouth went to work.
I grabbed onto the top of her head.
My fingers in her hair as my muscles tensed in her mouth and shot out my release.
“FUCK.”
Was all I could muster.
She didn’t say anything.
She just swallowed.
Wiped her mouth.
Licked her lips.
Turned and walked away.
Out of the restroom as if nothing had just happened.
I needed a moment to gather myself.
She had completely made me come undone.
I had never climaxed like that before.
It was so unexpected.
As I gather my trousers and boxers up from my ankles.
And fix myself.
I leave the restroom in search of her.
Which brings me here.
Here standing in front of her.
Like I said.
I had no intention of coming here after the party.
But something made me swing by.
Which now I am thanking them for.
She looks just as surprised as I do seeing me here.
“Hey.”
I say.
“Erm hey.”
She replies.
Awkward.
“I didn’t expect anyone to be here I just saw the light on and thought I’d come have a look around.”
“I’ve always wanted to see inside of this place.”
I’m still staring.
Shock all over my face.
Shock that she’s here.
“No please come look.”
As she starts to wander around, she looks in my direction.
“Do you work here?”
“Not exactly.”
I say.
“Then why are you here?”
She asks.
Great question.
Why was I here.
“I’m an investor.”
Her eyes widen.
But not in a shocked capacity.
Like…
She knew who I was.
“And you?”
I ask back.
“No, I don’t work here.”
“But I’d love to one day.”
This was a surprise.
She didn’t look like she wanted to be in publishing.
“Really?”
“Why do you sound so surprised.”
She asks.
“No reason.”
“It’s just your parents said you were a secretary.”
“I didn’t think you were interested in publishing.”
She grins.
“Just like my parents.”
“Don’t tell the full story.”
She mutters.
“I am a secretary.”
“But I work in a publishing house.”
“Did my parents not say why I wanted to leave my current job.”
I shake my head.
“Not exactly.”
“Hah.”
“Typical.”
“It’s because my current boss won’t let me progress.”
“I’ve been working there a while and no progression.”
“I want to be more than a secretary.”
“But he won’t let me.”
“Hence the career change.”
Sounds fair enough.
I wondered why her boss wouldn’t let her become more than a secretary.
“Who do you work for.”
I asked.
She said she worked for a publishing company.
There weren’t that many.
“Maybe I can put in a good word for you.”
What was wrong with me.
A good word.
I don’t even know her.
“Do I know the place you work at.”
I ask her anxiously waiting for a reply.
“Oh, I’m sure you know this company.”
She grins.
“People say it’s run by a tyrant.”
“A tyrant?”
I ask.
“Wait.”
“You don’t mean.”
She couldn’t possibly mean…
“Deans Publishing house.”
“As in Jericho Dean.”
“That’s where you work.”
The shock on my face made her laughter louder.
“Told you.”
She laughed.
“Still want to put in that good word for me.”
She asked.
Laughing hysterically.
She was right.
There was no way I could get a good word through to that man.
He was a beast.
Only other option I had was to give her a job here.
But how would that work.
McCormick and my family go way back.
We were close.
I was best friends with his son Allister.
“I have a really bad idea.”
I finally confess.
“I’m listening.”
“Come work here.”
“For McCormick’s.”
Her face lightened up.
“Really.”
She asked.
“Why not.”
I replied.
“I’ll put in a good word.”
“McCormick and I go way back.”
She ran to me and threw her arms around me.
“Simon, you don’t know what you’ve done for me.”
No neither did I.
What was I doing.
I didn’t know her, and I was willing to do anything for her.
There was something seriously wrong with me.
This wasn’t me at all.
“Don’t mention it.”
I replied.
Only problem now.
Getting McCormick to agree.
Fun.
