Chapter 93 Siblings.?!
Chapter 93 Siblings.?!
A knock woke me again this morning. But this didn't sound like that of room service. It was firm, steady, patient… or maybe I'm just overthinking things.
Dragging myself to the door, i slowly unlocked it and opened.
Hallucinating again this morning because why'll i be seeing Reno by my door this early morning.
I shut the door and staggered back to my bed. The knock came again.
“I'm tired come back later.!” I yelled at the person. Whoever it is.
But wait.! What if it's actually Reno.?
My legs betrayed me and I jumped out of the bed and opened the door again.
" Emma”
That voice called out, really familiar. Mixed emotions rushed through me. Happiness, relief, and.. anger. That was the most prominent.
" What are you doing here.?” I growled, like a boiling lava waiting to spill out.
" I'm sorry”
He continued, reaching out his filthy hand to touch my face but i slapped it off.
" Don't you dare. Why are you here.? You baby mama is somewhere waiting for you. Aren't you going to protect her anymore” i sneered.
" I don't love her” he continued softly. I laughed like he was just walking clown. " Yea, you don't love her. But while i suffered on earth, you were with her making babies, because she's familiar and safe.
“Just get out.!" I heaved and slammed the door in his face.
Not wanting to ruin my mood because I'll be meeting with other people, i manage to put him away from my mind get dressed.
When i came out again, he was gone. To be honest, i felt a little disappointment. But.. his cup of coffee.!
I gently knocked on the woman's door and she slowly emerged, her face more light and the bags under her eyes yesterday gradually disappearing.
“Good morning miss" she greeted with a big smile. “How was your night.?" I asked as we exited the hotel.
“Very fine. I wash.. wash..my cloth with soap i see yesterday and dry it" she explained.
“That's very nice. But you shouldn't stress your baby. Room service can handle that" i lightly scolded with the help of a translator.
She shook her head.
" Sipho.!” I called and waved to him. He turned towards us and his hand froze mid air when his eyes caught the woman beside me.
The woman too bowed her head in shame, trying to run away but i held her till Sipho came over.
" Good morning miss” he greeted me and turned to the woman, his brown eyes filled with anger and disgust.
" What are you doing here.?!” He yelled at her and she trembled.
" Hey hey Sipho. What's going on.? Do you two know each other.?” I asked, stepping in between them so he doesn't pounce on her.
He took a deep breath and calmed down. " Just leave her alone miss. She's a walking disgrace” he spat.
" Don't talk to her like that.!” I reprimanded sternly. " Who's she to you.? And why are you yelling at her like this.?”
" She's my younger sister. When my mom died and my dad fell sick, she dropped out of school and began to roam around town with different men. Then she took in and everyone she mentioned denied it, only that drunkard she now lives with accepted the baby" he narrated.
“And you left her with him.?"
He sighed sadly. “I didn't have any other options Miss. I can't take care of a pregnant girl, my siblings and terminally ill father." He cried.
I put a hand on his shoulder as he sobbed softly into his palm. “You both will be fine i promise. Try to forgive her. I'm sure everything she did was out of frustration and search for solace” i consoled him.
" Now let's go try out those Nigerian delicacies” i urged and dragged them into a taxi.
We drove to a diner in the middle of town and took a table by the window. " Wow, the scenery is crazy. I can see the busy road from inside” i marveled.
" Your portrait here will be perfecto. The sun in your hair and face.” He said and called over the waiter to take our orders.
I tried what they called jellof rice, fried plantains and salad. It was all I've been dreaming off. So flavourful and tasty.
Even tastier than that your relationship. Hahaha
The mood soon lightened and we conversed freely with each other, trying meals after meals. The siblings were reserved at first but soon let their guards down.
“Time for your portrait" he announced, adjusting my chair. " Sorry I don't have paint. So I'll just use colour pencils”
" Sure” i replied and struck an imposing pose. His hand moved fast and flawless across the sheet. Sketching, painting and erasing occasionally. I think it only took about thirty minutes but to me, it looked like an eternity because my hands and waist were sore from staying in one position.
“Here you go miss" he said handing me the piece. I won't doubt this boy anymore that he went to art school because his imagination is terrifying.
He sketched me exactly the way i posed with a might serpent curled around my hands and crawling across my shoulders.
“This is the masterpiece. You are a natural Sipho" i praised filled with excitement that i couldn't stop staring at the portrait.
“Thank you miss" he replied, blushing. I tried giving him some money but he refused, so i gave it to his willing sister. She needs it more than he does anyways.
We had loads of fun that day visiting two places of interest. V&A waterfront, and another place which i can't really remember the name where we saw African penguins. I was even chased by one.!
Sipho offered to take his sister to live with him in his rented apartment. So i gave her some money to buy baby essentials and supplements to norish herself.
Tears flowed down her cheeks as she thanked me over and over. I bidded them good night and headed to my hotel.
But when i got to my door, he was standing in front of it. Reno.
“Why can't you just let me be.?!" I yelled in frustration.
“I'm not leaving here without you"
