Chapter 90 Cape town

Chapter 90 Cape town
Emma's pov

Finally, my plane gently decended in the Tambo international airport, Cape town.

Cape town… oh my guddd

I almost jumped out of the plane before it got to my turn to get down. Immediately i stepped out unto the airstairs, the scorching African sun hit me directly.

Dragging my suitcase behind me, i wandered into the airport, using my phone as a map through the sea of dark and white skinned people.

“Need help madam.?" A deep, refreshing voice suddenly asked behind me and my suitcase came to an abrupt stop.

I sharply turned back to see a muscular dark skinned guy with gleaming white teeth.

“Yea.. I'm finding my way to one and only cape town hotel" i replied cautiously.

“Sure madam. You need to take a taxi" he said, taking over my luggage and leading me towards a large desk in one part of the airport.

“What are we doing here.?" I asked in confusion, staring over the heads of people gathered there. “You came with dollars, right.? You can't run things here without using rand. This is a conversion center"

Before I could reply, he disappeared into the sea of people. I waited for sometime and didn't see him.

“Maybe he has left me" i sighed and turned to leave with my luggage when he appeared in the distance and signaled me to come over.

Excited he hasn't left, i made my way through the throng of people. “I talked to the staff" he whispered in a soft voice.

I nodded gratefully. “How much are you converting.?" A brown skinned girl with a huge frown asked impatiently.

“Just ten thousand dollars" i replied.

“That'll be 164,700 Rand. Want in in varying denominations.?"

“Yes. That'll be very helpful" he cut in before i could reply.

After successfully converting the currency, he led me to where various coloured taxis were parked. He softly spoke with the driver for sometime before motioning for me to come over.

“He'll take you to the hotel. He agreed you'll pay R20" he said, retrieving my luggage and loading it in the booth.

“Thank you for everything" i appreciated, casually pulling out two notes and handing it to him. A flash of surprise crossed his cheerful face.

“Thanks madam.. thank you really much" he greeted as the taxi sped away.

As we drove through the beautiful city, i rolled down the window and stuck out my head, enjoying the rushing breeze in my ears.

“That's too dangerous madam" the driver gently chided me and i sat back like a sulking child.

The driver, and elderly man laughed softly. “I presume where you're coming from, you can do that anytime you want. But over here, you have to be careful." He continued.

" I just love the scenery” i argued back.

" You can look outside. But not stick out your head like that. Some crazy person might just pull at it and you will fall out”

When i heard this, i sat back obediently and silently admired everything as we passed.

We finally came to a stop in front of a big building that didn't really look like a luxury hotel.

Well.. whatever.

I casually pulled out a note and handed it to him. He took out some change and was giving it back to me.

" You can have it” i casually said, narcissistically flinging my hair as i dragged my suitcase out of the trunk without waiting for help.

Ignoring the gasp of awe from the people around, i briskly walked to the front desk.

" I want a room with a good view of the city” i demanded.

" Sure madam. That'll cost you four thousand rand per night” the receptionist replied after checking her system.

" Book me for a week”

" Alright. That'll be twenty six thousand" she replied.

Flipping through the thick stack of currency and coins, i fished out the money.

“This way. Room 56" she said, handing me the keys while a guy dressed in uniform took my luggage.

He dropped it off at the door of my room and bowed slightly before walking away.

“Thank you….” Before that got out of my mouth, he has entered the elevator and left.

Whatever

I opened the door and threw the crossing bag I've been carrying on the bedside table.

Flinging my clothes off and ransacking through my bag, i took out my scented soaps and ran to take a refreshing bath.

The water system here is really good and I didn't know when i fell asleep in the tub.

When I woke up, the sky outside was getting dark and my stomach was growling in hunger.

Ordering food is very fast and easy too and the room service is like flash.

They brought a menu filled with names of foods i haven't heard of. But i ordered anyways.. I'm starving.

When they brought it over, the scent was really amazing but nothing prepared me for the taste.!

Blood of God.!

The instant it entered my mouth, my eyes watered and i coughed violently, reaching for the water and gulping it down like a life saver. Which it was actually.

Too much spice in the food, but i forced it down my throat. I came here myself without anybody pressurizing me right.?

By the time I was done, my tongue gradually got used to the strong taste and i kinda enjoyed it.

Wait.!

My belongings are still scattered.! Reluctantly, i stood up to sort out the various things i brought in my expandable bag. My cosmetics and skin care went to the bedside table, i didn't unpack my clothes because.. who will pack them back when it's time to leave.?

Definitely not me.!

Then my snacks.! Taking out as much as I could eat tonight, and dropping them on the bed.

Tomorrow, I'll begin my tour. I've to make the most of my stay here.

Munching on the snacks i and searching for great tourist attractions, sleep gently took over.
