Chapter 39 Chapter thirty nine
“Reno please” she begged moaning. It was as if it wasn't him anymore. All his behaviors was animalistic as he turned her into different positions roughly. Tears unintentionally spilled from the corner of her eyes, ruining her carefully applied makeup.
Seeing he was beyond hearing, her hand searched for a weapon. Picking up something from the ground, she slammed it into his head and he fell off her.
She quickly put on her clothes and ran out of the room.
“Shit.!”
He cursed loudly too wearing his trousers. Throughout his sex with Charline, he was in a hallucination seeing her as Emma. This led to his animalistic behavior.
Opening the door to chase after her and apologize, Emma's machine began to beep loudly. Panicked, he ran to find the doctor.
It turned out that they mistakingly touched one of the machines leading to Emma having a cardiac arrest. Her breathing became laboured and she jerked widely her veins bulging.
After she was narrowly stabilized, he couldn't help but wonder why she's still breathing without oxygen mask despite being in coma.
“She is trying to gather lost energy, not really in a coma. And she knows everything going on around her, although she can't see and respond to them.” Devil said as if reading his mind.
“What.?!
He shouted in shock. “So… she can feel too? Like… Maybe jealousy.?” He asked cold sweat breaking from his forehead.
His father nodded and walked out leaving him standing mouth agape in bewilderment. So Emma heard everything he did with Charline? Could that be the source of her attack.. jealousy?
He looked at her pale face trying to calm down. “I shouldn't be feeling like this. Afterall i was only having sex with my fiancee, nothing more. We don't have any emotional bond with each other” he tried reassuring himself but deep down he knew… he was just deceiving himself.
For days, he didn't dare leave her side for any second and also banned Charline from coming in. Her sadness turned into anger, then to rage. “How can he abandon me all these while.? He's my betrothed, my man.! That filthy bitch.!” She screamed in frustration hurling an expensive ancient antique across the room.
But it was halted mid air and carefully laid on the floor without a single dent. It was her friend kamira.
“I came as soon as i got your distress call. What's going on.?” She asked softly, wrapping her arms around her to prevent further damages. Charline bursted into a dramatic cry. “Can you believe I haven't seen Reno for the past three days now.?” She asked pitifully.
Kamira laughed “that's impossible. Everybody knows Reno literally worships the ground you step on.” She mocked.
Charline shook her head “not anymore. Ever since he returned, he became a nanny to that girl. Even when we had sex, he seemed like a beast” she cried.
“I don't believe you” kamira shook her head stubbornly. Charline didn't say anything anymore and just began to walk away. She quickly followed suit.
They soon arrived at the private room where Emma was kept. Through the glass door, they saw Reno rubbing Emma's hands and whispering to her like she could hear him.
Charline pushed the door open. “Reno…. Can we talk.?” She asked softly. But he quickly put a finger on his lips. “Shhh… you'll disturb Emma. I'll talk to you when i can” he said waving her off.
She closed the door and turned back to kamira. “I suppose seeing is believing.?” She asked her stunned friend.
They walked back to her room in silence, both friends in deep thoughts. “I have an idea Charline” kamira whispered like she was in a conspiracy. Her eyes lit up “please help me kamira,i know you're really smart” she pleaded pitifully.
She looked at her friend and sighed deeply. This will be really risky and can throw everyone in this entire Kingdom of hell into confusion."
"i don't care who's harmed, i just want my man back. Remember how long we've been friends for years" she tried blackmailing her.
Kamira sighed gently whispered something in her ears and her eyes widened in amazement her hands over her mouth. “You're a genius.!” She cried in excitement.
From then on, she pretended to pity Emma, doing everything to please Reno and trying to make him let his guards down around her. But this only made him grow weary and he began to suspect her every move because only him know how very hypocritic Charline can be.
"This isn't working, it's only making me look more suspicious" she complained bitterly to kamira.
"Then stop doing it so obviously. It won't take time, we can sneak in whenever he's out of sight" kamira advice.
Her face lit up once more. "thank you my love. I know you're very intelligent but a big doubting Thomas" she mocked and ran away before kamira could strike her.
From that moment, Charline became a secret agent, waiting for any time Reno left Emma alone. Finally, the opportunity came, he went to the bathroom to relieve himself. They snuck into the room, and kamira used her powers to seal Emma's tattoo making it disappear, but not completely, it was just sealed with an extra thin layer of skin.
When Reno came back, Emma was already sitting on the bed looking perfectly fine. At first, he couldn't believe his eyes. He slowly approached her scared that someone else must have possessed her.
“How long have i been out and why are you acting weird.?” She asked standing up. In excitement, he hugged her tightly, unable to say a word. Although surprised, she couldn't help but hug him back. Unknown to them, the reason she woke up was because her powers have been sealed and she's just a normal human now.
“I miss you so much” he mumbled and she pushed him away from her in playful surprise. “Did you mistake me for your girlfriend.?” She mocked trying visibly to steady her shaky voice and breath.
