Chapter 37 Chapter thirty seven
“But we run away from this fight” i said and charged towards Rexy but with a swipe of his hand, he sent me crashing into the wall. “You may some powers girl. But don't be reekless. Submit obediently and I'll spare all of you”
I laughed in disbelief standing to my feet. “You're such a bold thief. If not that I can't abandon my friends, getting out of here won't be an issue for me.” I mocked.
“The thing i dislike most are disrespectful kids.” He said irritated and shot a ball of fire at me. But Reno blocked me and collapsed on the floor. “Go.. Emma.. find selah..” he said coughing up blood from the corner of his mouth.
“No..!”
“I can't leave you.” I cried kneeling beside him, with tears blinding my vision. They fell from my eyes into the wounds on his chest. “Master..! Your energy is deplating rapidly. Your tears takes most of your energy” Finly panicked.
His wounds began to heal rapidly and he began to float in the air. I felt myself going dizzy and with my last strength, i formed a dazzling sphere and shattered it on the floor. A blinding light filled the room and i heard Rexy's scream of anguish before blacking out.
Rexy roared in anger looking at his palace that has been reduced to rubble. “None of you is leaving here alive today.!”
Reno laughed mockingly and drew out his divine sword. “Where's alter that you want to use in collecting powers.? Look, it's now dust.!
“You fool.!”
He shouted and charged at Reno. But he was blocked by the divine sword that sent him flying meters back. “Kid, you've really got some nerves…” Rexy said spitting out a mouthful of blood.
“I've completed my errand for father. Its better you stay off now” he said returning his sword to its shelth. He picked up the limp Emma and flew straight up. “Get back..!” He thundered and the sky turned dark, a dangerous whirlwind began to spiral dangerously.
Reno laughed his voice reverberating throughout the kingdom. People stared up at the sky in horror at the strange phenomenon. But he just laughed and drew out his sword again. “Looks like you won't back off “brother” seems like I've given you more respect than you deserve” Reno said furiously and charged at him head on.
Their weapons collided with a thunderous blast, releasing a dangerous surge of energy. People close by were sent flying backwards meters away. Many injured and few unlucky ones lost their lives. “You're killing your people “brother” are you ready to lose more lives cause of a worthless fight.?” He mocked again.
Rexy smirked “I can't let you get into hell with that girl.” He said and began to summon his black hole of eternal torment. Suddenly, a scream rang out of behind.
“Father..!.!
“Huh..! A demon with a human son.” A voice mocked. “Selah.!” Reno shouted in surprise.
“Nooo…!” Rexy shouted in agony and flew over to his son lying pale faced on the floor, an arrow sticking out on his chest.
“Lets go” he urged urgently pulling selah quickly as Rexy and liriah were distracted by the of Rexy's son. They flew across the darkening sky quickly making it to the pothole in time.
“How do we convince your father she's the princess when she can't prove it.?” Selah asked worriedly glancing around, knowing it won't be long before they are caught up with.
He sighed deeply in frustration, looking at the pale Emma in his arms. Suddenly selah's face lit up. “You father banned you till you bring the princess, and Rexy because of his rebellion. But i didn't do anything wrong….
“That means your blood can activate the pothole.! Oh why didn't i think of this early enough.!” He shouted excitedly taking her finger and cutting it before she could refuse. He knew how much she hated the sight of her blood.
The dark and hollow pothole began to glow with an eerie yellow light, that shone brighter with each passing minute. It began to emit a low guttural sound and expand.
“Finally.!.!
He shouted and stepped into the place he really knew as home.
“Prince Reno is back.!
Someone suddenly shouted. “Is that the princess in his arms.? She has grown so big.”
“She's really beautiful. Looking like the princess of light indeed”
“I heard she's human.”
“Impossible.! How can the princess of light be human.? She only up in the human world.”
The nearby people began to gossip. Suddenly, a long convoy of luxurious cars drove towards them in a neat straight line. The people quickly made way.
The doors opened and guards stepped out. Then they opened the door of the first car. A middle aged man slowly emerged and everyone bowed deeply. The air around seemed frozen for sometime.
At a glance, you could tell he wasn't an ordinary person. He's the devil himself, countless years of existence, cunning, sly. His eyes are deep and bottomless, streaks of grey hair ran across his head, his lips were paused in a tight pause. Looking at his refined features, you can never tell his age, although he looks middle aged.
After him, a woman stepped out too. Her aura was strong and terrifying. She looks middle aged too with equally stern features. Her red long nails, dark red lips, bottomless dark eyes and hair that floated in the wind down to her waist. There's no doubt she's Reno's mother.
“Mum… Dad…” he called out, stepping foward and bowing slightly. A huge smile immediately lit up the woman's face, making her look a little more approachable under the huge, wide sun hat she was wearing.
But the devil just smiled a little, lifting only one corner of his lips in acknowledgment.
“I've brought her back father” he quickly added bowing again and handing over the limp Emma. He looked at her “the human world has almost taken over her. She has a long way to go.” He said taking her wrist.
“Her energy level is weak too. Take her to the hospital. She needs to be treated like a human until she can fully swich.” He ordered his men.
“Welcome home son.” His Mom said taking his hands in hers and leading him to the car. “Did you see Rexy.? How's he.?” She asked lowering her voice. “My biggest battle was him mom. He was even ready to kill me. His greed has taken over reasoning” he replied as the cars began to drive back to the palace.
“Its all because of liriah…! If not for her will….
“Velenita.!” A sharp terrifying voice scolded sharply with an outwardly anger in his tone. “Don't ever mention those again. As far as I'm concerned, i have only one son.” Devil warned his eyes blazing.
They soon reached the palace grounds. Finally being home again, he couldn't help smiling happily and couldn't wait for the car to come to a halt.
“Reno..!” A sing voice called out from behind immediately he stepped down.
