Chapter 15 15: Touching Without Touching

Chapter 15 15: Touching Without Touching
Baby's heart jumped in his chest for just a second before he scoffed.
"It might actually be possible," he said, smiling.

Saint narrowed his eyes, "Tell me." He said.

"Die, Saint. That's the only way you'd be out of my way," Baby smirked and turned away, resuming his walk to the health and wellness centre.

Saint stood there for a while, half angry, half amused.

"What was I expecting? Enemies it is, then," He murmured and walked ahead.

Five minutes later, Saint and Baby are sitting in a small waiting room, waiting to be called in by the therapist.

"What's with the face mask?" Saint asked, looking at the face mask as if it were obstructing something special from his view.

Baby slowly tilted his head to the side, "Seriously? You bit me." He stated in a bitter tone.

Saint's eyes fell on the face mask that was hiding Baby's lips, "Swollen?" He asked.

"Slightly," Baby murmured, feeling himself tilting to fully face Saint.

Saint suddenly wanted to see his mark on Baby, he wanted to see how Baby's tender lip looked with the red tint he knew would be there.

"Let me see," he said.

"Mr. Kross, Mr. Danvers, the therapist will have you now." A short lady in a green suit quietly walked over to them and politely informed them.

"Thank you, Ma'am," Saint said, tearing his eyes away from Baby's face as he immediately stood and walked away.

Baby gave the woman a polite nod and followed Saint away.

Saint stopped in front of the white door with 'In session' hanging at the top. Gently, he pushed in the door and walked inside the room.

Baby was behind him in a second.

The moment his eyes fell on the lady behind the desk, his lips fell apart in a silent gasp.

"Whao... beautiful," he murmured.

Slim, fair skin, beautiful shape of the face, fine bone structure that would look dazzling in anything she wore, especially the sleek, white suit she wore that complemented her dark hair that was packed in a tight ponytail.

And her eyes, Baby was hypnotised, he had never seen such mesmerising eyes in his entire life. She was an epitome.

"Saint, oh my God, who would have thought?" The therapist suddenly stood from her seat and walked around her table, walking right into Saint's waiting arms for a warm hug.

'Fuck it, just when I thought I found someone,' He frowned.

He stared at them in disbelief, wondering about the history behind them as he saw Saint smiling genuinely for the first time.

His steel-grey eyes didn't seem that cold anymore, they had a depth of warmth in them as he stared at the beautiful woman.

An old, familiar feeling reared its head in Baby's mind: abandonment.

He felt like an outcast, neglected; even Saint wasn't paying attention to him anymore, not even to annoy him.

He stood there, slowly drowning in his own world as their voices turned into background noise.

However, a hand touched his lower back before he could completely succumb to his monsters.

He lifted his head to find Saint staring at him with something akin to worry, and it surprisingly pushed the rising darkness away from his head.

"Are you okay?" Saint questioned in a tender voice.

Baby gulped, "I'm fine." He replied, not taking his eyes away from Saint's.

"Ahem, hi," The beautiful therapist quietly broke the spell between the two guys in her office.

Baby stepped away from Saing and faced her, "Hi, I'm Baby. Baby Danvers." He introduced.

"It's nice to meet you, Baby... people call you that, right? Or you prefer Danvers?" She smiles softly.

"Baby is fine," He replied.

"Alright, Baby. I'm Elena Ruiz, your school's therapist and Saint's best friend. You can call me Elena," she extended her hand to him.

Baby smiled, "Pleasure meeting you, Elena." He leaned down and kissed the back of Elena's hand.

'Best friend... I've still got a chance,'

Elena chuckled, "Yes. Please, have a seat." She pointed to the white sofa behind her.

"Everything we discuss here shall remain here." She said as she rolled a chair in front of the sofa.

"I trust you," Saint said, walking over to sit on the sofa.

"I would have bailed, Elena, but the worst of a beautiful woman should always be trusted," Baby smirked and lowered himself on the other end of the sofa.

"That's great, Baby. What we're aiming for in the end is vulnerability and trust. People can't work together if they're not vulnerable with their partners or trust them. Thank you for trusting me," Elena had already started her therapy as she simply picked a notebook and a pen from her desk.

She walked over to the seat she rolled over and lowered herself on it, crossing her legs and facing the young men.

She saw how far apart they were sitting from each other and chuckled.
"Boys, in here, we work to progress. Please, scoot together." She gestured with her hands for them to come closer.

Baby glanced at Saint and faced Elena, "I don't think that's a good idea. He's –"

"Sure, Elena, that won't be a problem," Saint cut Baby off and scooted closer to Baby, leaving just a tiny space between their thighs.

Baby furrowed his brows, wishing the sofa were longer.

"If you really want to get away from me, I suggest you behave. I know Elena, she's ready to keep us here until she feels satisfied with our conduct." Saint leaned in and whispered to Baby.

Baby cleared his throat and leaned away from Saint, smiling at Elena.

"We're ready, Elena. But before we start, may I ask a question?" Baby asked, ignoring Saint beside him.

Elena looked up from her notebook and nodded, "Of course, Baby."

"Have some reservations, Baby. The therapist is off-limits," Saint muttered.

"How do you know him?" Baby pointed at Saint without looking at him.

Elena chuckled, jotted down something in her notebook, and then returned her eyes to Baby.

"In Switzerland... he did half his high school there. And ever since he left, well, this is the first time we're physically seeing each other again. Kept in touch through socials but you know how it is, once in a blue moon," She explained.

"Mm," Baby hummed, "Let's begin, my lady." Baby said, resting his back on the sofa.

Saint glanced at Baby, a crease forming in his forehead; he sighed, shook his head, and faced their therapist.
