Chapter 26 Jet-Ski

Chapter 26 Jet-Ski
  Verena
I stopped before the traffic light, turning my head to Daxton who slept peacefully. The longer my gaze lingered on him, I couldn't help but feel that he kept tabs on me because how did he know about the issues I faced in getting a lawyer?
I never shared it with him because I didn't want to burden him. He had done so much for me and just telling him about how Kian was bent on frustrating me was just too much.
What if Daxton believed that I had too many problems and got tired of me?— I mean that was what I thought until he laid his head on my thigh, my fingers threading through his hair as he craned his head up to look at me.
“After what you made me go through because of you, I am now actively involved in everything that has to do with you and Kian’s divorce. I have gotten you a lawyer from the Cater’s firm—”
My lips had parted in shock and before I could even speak, he wriggled a finger at me. “Don't ask any questions, Verena. Just cooperate with the lawyer”
I couldn't believe that Mikaelson Williams— the top lawyer in the country represented me and Daxton made all of this possible.
My throat worked, my eyes moving from his aquiline nose, his sharp jawline and to his dick tenting up in his pants.
I shook my head immediately, squashing the lustful thoughts that were about springing in my mind.
I darted my eyes away from him. I had to think about something else. Ah! The Club.
I didn't know if it was just me but I couldn't just shake off this ominous feeling that whatever happened at the club had to do with me and Daxton was the perpetrator.
Things about that night weren't even adding up. All I had ordered was a glass of whiskey and these two brothers wouldn't stop coming over to the table to get me to dance with them. The last thing I could remember was taking another sip of whiskey before my head spun and everything faded into a blur.
So, how I was that wasted to not fully recall the events of that night made no sense to me.
But I could have sworn that I caught a glimpse of Daxton beating those boys up and most importantly, when he crossed over to me as flames engulfed the building behind him.
In that moment, with his sleeves rolled up and a Cuban cigar dangling from his mouth—he looked like a god. The ones you read about in Greek mythology.
The honking of the car behind me jolted me out of my thoughts as eyes flitted to the traffic light which had turned green and I sped off.
Daxton was still asleep when I spotted Emily standing on the side-walk, struggling with her shopping bags and before I could even contemplate pulling close to the curb or driving off, she had spotted me from afar, waving me down.
I pulled up to her side as she stepped away from the side-walk, opening the car’s door. “Oh, you are a life-saver, Verena” She shoved a bag in my car—not noticing Daxton who was deep in sleep.
“Where are you going with all of this, Emily?”
She pushed more bags into the car, grunting. “Home of course. Kian Cooper suddenly followed me on Instagram just after I uploaded the selfie that you and  took at the Chinese restaurant. He even commented on my picture and liked it” She almost shrieked out of excitement. “I can't still believe this Verena, you are my lucky charm and—” Her face blanched and she froze, staring at—
  Daxton.
I didn't even realize that he was awake.
His eyes narrowed on Emily who struggled to find her words.
“Mr Daxton, you don't mind that Emily is joining us, right?” I forced out an awkward smile while Daxton turned to look at me with an inscrutable expression on his face before he darted his eyes back to Emily whose mouth was clamped shut.
I could make out the way her heart was beating fast in her chest.
“As long as she keeps her mouth shut” Daxton turned, staring out the window.
“Thank you, boss,” She hopped in the car, eyes screaming for me to have alerted her about his presence.
  I mouthed. “I am sorry”
After some few minutes, I caught sight of Emily peeking at Daxton before she leaned closer to me, her voice barely a whisper. “Why are you working on the weekend?”
I whispered back to her. “Beats me to it but Mr Daxton has to meet with an important client and since his chauffeur called in sick, I have to take him there”
Emily sighed before she continued. “Would you be free tomorrow? I am setting you up on a blind date with my friend—”
She had barely completed her words when Daxton’s low voice filled the air, his face dark from fury and confusion. “What Blind Date?”
Emily leaned back immediately while I almost palmed my forehead, seeing him worked up like that. I thought he was fast asleep? How long has he been awake?
His eyes shifted to me. “You are going on a blind date?” Confusion and jealousy flashed in his eyes.
Emily responded immediately. “No, she hasn't agreed to it yet”
Daxton turned angry eyes to her, his voice was cold and intimidating. “About time I imposed a no-relationship policy on my staff. That would allow you focus on your job”
I had never seen him this riled up at the idea of me meeting someone else. He was always so calm and sweet that this part of him came to me as a shock.
Emily couldn't stand the tension anymore and asked to come down from the car—
As soon as I dropped her off, I turned to Daxton. “You have scared the poor girl—”
Daxton shifted, lazy eyes burning into my face. “Why would she set you up on a blind date?”
Now, he had turned this on me. All through the drive to the Marina, his eyes burned holes into my soul as if he was trying to read through me.
I could only breathe when we came out of the car while my eyes swept over the place, watching the yachts that rocked against the dock and the huge skyscrapers that flanked the Marina.
My eyes flitted to Daxton. “Ummm, I would wait in the car while you discuss with the client”
Daxton cocked an eyebrow at me and before I could turn, he wrapped a hand around my waist, my feet leaving the ground as he scooped me into his huge arms.
  I gasped.
His eyes held mine, leaving me breathless with my heart thumping hard in my chest. “I lied—” He drawled. “There is no business client. You are here to spend the weekend with me”
I blinked. Blinked again. Tongue-tied from the warmth that pooled in my stomach.
I swallowed hard, almost drowning in those spell-binding eyes that reflected the ocean. “The contract I signed clearly states that I have the weekend to myself”
Dark amusement sparked in his eyes that still pinned me in place as he tilted his head. “If you had read your contract carefully, you would have noticed the clause that says I have the final right to cancel or amend your schedule”
My jaw dropped before I swallowed harder. “I didn't pack any clothes”
A low rich laugh tumbled off his mouth. “I have everything handled, already”
Truth be told, he did. Varieties of sexy clothes, ranging from lingerie to bikinis waited for me in the yacht but that didn't matter right now. Something else did.
Daxton gripped the base of his dick in this casual, yet teasing manner. My mouth watered just from watching the thick length and the tip leaking with precum.
My throat parched, my eyes sliding up to his face as he stared at me with lust hooded eyes. “Verena,”he drawled as he stroked his hand up his dick. “We have to make one thing clear. You are not allowed to meet with other men, go on blind-dates—”
Heat pooled between my thigh as I opened my legs wide, baring myself before him. “For how long?” I teased.
His eyes flashed with anger briefly as he mounted the bed. “Forever, Verena. With us, “how long” doesn't exist. I plan on ruining you so bad that you would never look at anyone except me. I will be the only one you see and crave”
Lust roared inside of me as he stared at me like he was hungry while I stared at him with need because I needed him right now.
With the way he grabbed me by the hips and pulled me closer to me—He had never looked that hot and domineering.
I fisted the sheets, my back arching as his dick stretched me and if this intense thrust continued, I feared that I might shred the sheets. His lips brushed through the shell of my ear, sending jolts of electricity through me.
Everything about him drove me crazy. The way he held me in his hands, the way his dick swelled inside of me and those pleasurable groans that filled my ears—
I couldn’t get enough of it. Him.
With my face buried against the pillow, he pounded into me from behind and every spank on my ass sent jolts of pleasure through me until I was screaming, moaning—for him not to stop—until stars exploded across my vision, the same time we came together.
The night ended with him playing the violin while I stared at him in admiration. Then we danced to the best soul-bleeding song that I have ever heard and he had so much love in his eyes for me that it sent my heartbeat spiraling.
Daxton gripped my cheek, a hand still holding my waist firmly as he crushed his lips on mine, stealing the breath out of my lungs. His Cologne seeped into my nose, his mouth warm against mine as he spun me around and ravaged the inside of my mouth.
The kiss was so intense that it sent my head spinning until—
I caught sight of something through the peripheral of my vision. No someone. And the person rode on a jet-ski and there was this flash coming from the phone in his pocket.
I almost broke the kiss immediately but Daxton’s grip on my waist, tugged me closer to him. “I think someone is watching us”
I had hardly completed my words when whoever it was suddenly tumbled into the water and Daxton stole the gasp that almost escaped my mouth with a kiss.
Who the fuck was that and most importantly, why was the person taking a picture or even recording a video of us?
