HE IS THE ONLY ONE FOR HER
"I apologise, Miss Fuentebella for knocking you out of consciousness. Forgive me for my insolence. By the way, my name is Vernon Augustin.”

She heard a voice as soon as she regained her consciousness.

“Why did you abducted me? What's your  reason, Mr Augustin?” she asked immediately as she sat down.

One of the lesson that she learnt from her Daddy Ramil, never to show your fears. Instead, face them with dignity.

"Don't get me wrong, Miss Fuentebella. I just wanted to talk to you. But my chances are slim, as I have noticed your distant behaviour towards men. I even followed you home, but I always missed the right timing. That is why I resorted to this method. Again I apologise for the scare. About your question? Our boss firmly told us to ask for your permission," he explained.

But at the back of his mind, his friend and boss will forgive him for indulging his name into action. Well, he now understand why he sent him in Madrid to  investigates this young woman  in front of him.

“By your accent,  you are not a Spanish person. Although you speak English fluently, you came from Paris, France. Am I right, Mr Vernon?” Stephanie said after sometimes of silence.

“Yes, Miss Fuentebella. You are correct.  Will it be alright if I tell the reason why I brought you here?"

“I will say yes, it’s alright. I am all ears to what you have to say. But it doesn’t mean that I already trusting you. You just showed up out of nowhere and you’re telling m that you were sent by your unknown boss. So, don’t blame me if I’m saying these to you. Now, tell me what’s that proposal,” she answered.

Then...

“It’s about business, Miss Fuentebella. Here, have a look on it. I am positive that that you will love it.” Vernon handed the legit papers of business proposals.

Well, his master gave him a permission to do all the necessary work just to know about the woman nor the step-daughter of his brother.

‘Well, she has a alluring beauty indeed. It’s  not surprising if a man like him will love her. She has stable job as well,’ Vernon says in his mind.

As Stephanie scanned the proposal papers, she noticed a very familiar name.

‘How is he related to Daddy Ramil? Why I’m feeling like this upon reading these proposal?’ she silently asked to herself.

“Thank you for approaching me for this proposal , Mr Vernon. But I don’t have a plan to leave my job here in Spain. That was given to me since I was a little girl. And according to my Mom, the Madrid Court promised that to my late father. Therefore, I’m sorry to disappoint you. But I have to decline your offer.”

She just said what’s  on her mind! Half lies and reality. Because the sole reason why she do not want to leave Spain, she don’t like the idea of separation between her and Daddy Ramil. She’s still hoping that one day, they will reconcile and start all over again.

“Oh, its alright, Miss Stephanie. You have all the right to refuse. That is why we a proposal because it’s either to be accepted or to be declined. To make this meeting formal, will you allow me to invite you to have early dinner? Don’t you, I will drive you to the place of your car,” she heard him say.

There’s no reason to refuse, by the way. It’s an hypocrite act to decline a genuine invitation. That is why she agreed to  with him to have early dinner.

ON the other hand. Ramil felt so frustrated when he didn’t see his beloved Stephanie that afternoon.

“Supposedly, she is already home at this moment. Buy why she’s not yet here?” he asked in a tone that he can hear alone.

There are lot of questions running to his mind. He fears that the accident that happened when she was just twenty-one years old repeated. Upon thinking of that, he simply got up and made his way to his car once more.

“Oh, honey, I guess you just arrived but it seems that you are going out again?” his wife asked as they met in the gate.

“You came, honey. I was on my way to fetch you but we met here,” he answered while smiling to cover his anger toward her.

‘Fck this old woman! She’s always interrupting! I could k●ll you right now if it’s  not because of my baby Stephanie!’ he silently cursed.

“How sweet you are, honey. Let’s  go back inside now.” She smiled and wrapped around his waist her arms.

In the eyes of everyone, they’re sweet and lovable couples. But deep inside of him, he is cursing him to death. Regrets filled his entire soul because of marrying her instead of waiting for the right age of Stephanie. And now, he is in the middle of a huge rock. But he is so sure that no matter what happens, the one who own his heart is Stephanie. 

He just smiled and go on with the flow. 

‘I should wait for another time. And besides, it’s part of my plan is to lower the guard down of this old woman!’ he says numerous times in his mind.

FEW moment later...

“Thank you for the time and spending time with me, Miss Fuentebella---Oh, I forgot. It should be Stephanie alone. Well, if you will change your mind and want to work with us in Paris, here, take my card and you can reach me out anytime,” Vernon said after they ate.

“Oh, thank you, Vernon. I will surely do that in the future.” Stephanie smiled as she accepted the calling.

“So, shall we go back to the parking area where you left your car?” he once again asked.

“Yes, Please. I didn’t have a time to let my mother know about these escapade. And she might be worrying about me now,” she said.

But at the back of her mind, it’s not about her mother but she misses a lot the love of her life.

Then, they drove off to the place where Stephanie left her car.

But!

Without their knowledge, a pair of burning eyes is intently watching them!
