Chapter 73
Takumi’s POV

I had come rushing the moment I could feel the surge in her power. I wasn’t entirely sure but it felt like whenever she was emotionally distressed Persephone set herself on fire. And not normal fire either, hell fire.
Right now I saw the girl that I had fallen for desperately turn into a vivid shade of pink matching her hair as a strand of her hair turned bright shade of red. Almost as a streak, but only one strand. I doubt anyone else even noticed her hair shifting colours but I did. There was something different with her magic which no one else could understand.
“Tell me!” she roared as Bernard who had been silent until now said,” You weren’t able to kill one vampire and you are supposed to duel one today at dusk.”
She placed her hands on her hips and stared at him with narrowed gaze and said,” You think that I was fighting that vampire because I did not know how to defeat him?”
Bernard did not reply because I could see what was happening in his mind on his face. He had no clue what the right response would be. Wilhelm interjected.
“Of course you knew how to defend him, baby,” he soothed.
“You shut up,” Persephone shouted in anger. She looked back at Bernard and shouted,” Tell me now!”
“I have no idea what you wanted to do! And if you knew how to kill him then why didn’t you do it?”
“Because you donkey licking shit ball told me that this was going to be a simulation and I wasn’t fighting anyone real. And because you told me lies I wanted to practise my skills of actually fighting with a live target. YOU DUMBASS MOTHERFUCKER!!!!”
The roar that she emitted would put the dragon to shame, of this I was certain. The power and the aura that she was exuding right now would blind any one except us. The vampire was now sitting up and he was looking absolutely healthy with no sign that he was killed a few minutes back and then he immediately walked towards Persephone and knelt down with his hands on his thighs, palms splayed open and throat exposed as he uttered the one word I was dreading he would say.
“Goddess!”
Persephone was staring at him with shock on her face and then she scowled at Bernard even more who was looking at the kneeling vamp with renewed interest and then he said,” You should really kill him or else I will have to take him and lock him in my laboratory.”
“NO ONE IS KILLING ANYONE!” snarled Persephone as she looked down at the vampire and said softly,” I don’t know why you said that but I am not any Goddess.”
“You are to me, Goddess. You are the only mistress for me now. My life is yours. If you wish to take my life for your sake then I shall be glad to make an offering at your feet. I will sacrifice anything and anyone for your sake. Everything that I am is yours,” the vampire said with such reverence that Persephone took a step back in horror.
“What is he saying?” she asked in increasing panic as I immediately touched her and said,” It must be a side effect of consuming your blood/. Don’t fret, we will make sure that nothing happens to him.”
“He is an excellent specimen for my lab,” said Bernard again as this time Wilhelm punched him with his elbow making him wince as the vampire king said,” We all know that you earned the name of Butcher of Immortals by blood and knife in these centuries but that doesn’t mean you need to flaunt it like an insane person.”
“No one is taking anyone to any lab,” said Persephone as she pointing finger at Bernard,” You will remain as far as possible from him. Wilhelm, you are the king of vampires, so you are to decide what happens to him…I can’t tell you that how ridiculous this situation is! And you are responsible for that!”
“Me? How am I responsible? If you had killed him the moment you were before him in the ring then this entire fiasco would not have happened,” Bernard said again, matter of factly and the scowl on Persephone’s face stopped her.
“Dude, no, just no,” I had to say. Then I said,” You are now just testing her will to not kill you. You realise that she has powers which by far surpass yours and she can easily do things which might have taken you years to achieve?”
“The reason I thought that practical experience would be the best way for her to learn how to fight a new fledgeling vampire. What was wrong with that?” he asked as Persephone again rushed in his direction to strangle him probably and I had to sigh and hold her back.
“Wilhelm, can you please take care of this newly bonded vampire? You will best know what to do in this case,” I said as Persephone struggled in my stronghold.
“No killing,” she warned and Wilhelm nodded solemnly.
“There will be no killing whatsoever,” he promised and Persephone nodded and then hissed at Bernard who just laughed at her and I had to say,” He is trying to rile you up and from the looks of it he is succeeding.”
I pulled her away from them and started walking towards her dorm as I finally thought otherwise and pulled her towards the eastern side of the campus.
“Where are we going?” she asked.
“You will see.”
“You have to know by now that I hate surprises,” Persephone warned me and I smiled and said,” This one I am certain you will like.”
Finally we reached the cove that I wanted to show her. There was a hidden passage that only the sirens knew for we could see the aquapaths of the academy unlike others and when we finally reached the spring and the lake where the water was gushing Persephone smiled in actual happiness and said,” I could never imagine that there could be a place like this here.”
“One of the many wonders of this realm. There has to be a cove and a huge waterbody where we live or else we won’t survive for long. We are connected to water that way,” I said as she asked,” Can I swim here? Is it safe?”
“Do you want to swim? I thought since you did not have any swim suit..”
“Takumi, you have seen me naked and you have eaten me out abut one night back. Do you think after that I will be shy with nudity with you? I am not…if you are uncomfortable then of course I won’t..”
I could not believe my ears of what I was hearing. Did she really say that she wanted to swim naked? I had grown hard the instant she uttered the words.
The Great Fish Gods save me from this woman…she is really going to be the death of me…
