Chapter. 33 Immortal of the Moon Goddess
Author's POV
Logan was furious when all the guards ordered to thwart Carol's departure failed to carry out their duties. He became even more annoyed when he realized that Carol was the only one who left with the man.
"You fool, why can't you block the departure of just one woman? Is that too difficult?" Logan said in a lofty tone. The Guard who knelt before him. Immediately lowered their heads in fear.
"Sorry, Alpha. Forgive us," said one of them.
"You've upset me. Leave now and do your punishment outside!"
"Yes, Alpha." They left immediately. Then Anna and Grace approached Logan's throne.
"Logan. What did you do to them? Is it right to punish them for their insignificant task?" Anna asked sounding annoyed.
"Unimportant how, Mom? It's clear that Carol's departure has an enormous impact on the safety of the Black Moon Pack. What if something happens to our territory? Who will be responsible? Because it's her job?" replied Logan evasively. Even though he really didn't want Carol to go far from him.
"It's true what Logan said, Queen. If there's no bad guy here. Who will protect our pack? Couldn't Rogue attack at any time?" Grace replied.
"Yeah. I'm glad you think so," Logan said.
"But we still have other warriors. There's Angela, there are guards and more. We're not really affected by losing just one werewolf like her."
"Don't you know yet? Carol's potential is much better than all of them. We could see our greatest warrior return in the form of her child. She has an enormous impact on the safety of our pack." Logan persisted with his thoughts.
"Fine. Whatever you want. I just wanted to remind you. If you need to decide on a wedding date with Grace as soon as possible. Because I've already prepared everything for Luna's appointment party," Anna said, making Grace smile happily. Logan smiled with a smile.
"You don't have to bother me. If I want, I'll prepare it myself for my Luna," Logan said and disappeared from the presence of the two of them.
"Hey! You little brat! Your mom is having a serious conversation. You just disappeared!" snapped Anna.
"Never mind, Queen. Let Logan calm down first. I don't want to make him uncomfortable with this marriage," Grace said.
"You're the best wife-to-be, Grace. You know how to behave with an arrogant werewolf like Logan," Anna said as she stroked Grace's long hair with a proud smile. Grace blushed at the compliment.
Elsewhere, Carol and Frans continue their journey towards the Rookan Pack. On the way, they found hunting equipment that had fallen out of Frans and the Guard's backpacks when they were chased by the evil Rogues a few months ago.
"There's no mistaking it. We are almost close to the Rookan Pack village," Frans shouted with a radiant face. Carol also looked at the object. She could tell that the equipment used in the Black Moon Pack and the Rookan Pack were very different.
"Thank goodness. Soon you will meet your family, Frans," Carol said while patting the man's shoulder. Frans turned his head with a sweet smile.
"I'm already getting excited. If I remember correctly. Up ahead is the outer boundary of the Rookan Pack area." Frans pointed in the direction ahead of them. Then the two of them ran a little in that direction. Sure enough, there was a small monument that was covered in green moss. "Come on, this way!" Frans walked first by continuing to run a little. Behind him, Carol soon followed with the same steps. When passing a large tree. Suddenly Frans walked into a rope trap that entangled his legs. A split second later, Frans' body was hanging with his feet up.
"Frans!" shouted Carol. She took out a machete from her backpack. Then with a single leap she managed to sever the rope that bound Frans' legs. The man's body just fell to the ground. Carol immediately helped him up. However, a second later came the werewolves who were hiding around the trees.
"Don't move!" they said, pointing their spears at Carol and Frans. Frans smiled at the sight of the men.
"Uncle Gabriel! It's me Frans!" he said, which immediately made the people flabbergasted.
It turned out that they were members of the Rookan Pack Guard who tried to protect their pack after Frans' departure. Because Frans' old father had to remain Alpha. So, they united to protect the pack and also their Alpha from the evil Rogues.
Now they are very happy because Frans has returned safely. They had been desperate to find him after the attack.
"I would have died if Carol hadn't found me. She and her mother nursed me back to health. Look! My leg that was hit by the root of the Manggala tree. Now it's completely healed. Because of the care of the two of them," Frans said proudly as he introduced Carol to all the Rookan Pack officials. Carol just smiled kindly at them one by one.
"Caroline. We are very grateful to me and your mother. We are truly indebted to you both," said Damian Lewis, Frans' father.
"We would love to be of use to other werewolves," Carol replied sincerely.
"Then get some rest. We know you must have been through a lot. We have reserved a special place for special guests like you, Caroline," said Luna, Emily Lewis.
"Thank you. I'm very happy to be welcomed into this place," Carol said. Before she went with a maid to her bedroom.
Carol felt happy in this place. Because they respected her as a hero. Unlike the conditions she had passed in the Black Moon Pack long ago. Here, Carol is immediately recognized by all pack members. So every time Carol walks around the palace. People immediately greeted her like a famous opera star.
"We are very grateful for your help with our Alpha candidate. Lord Damian is old, and it is time to rest. The Rogues have killed all his children. Now Prince Frans is our only hope," said Bertha, one maid palace. Carol, who was in the palace kitchen, felt very honored. Because her services are very valuable here.
"For me it does,n't matter. At first I actually thought Frans was one rogue who attacked our fields. Because those evil Werewolves often damaged one of our fields," Carol replied while stirring the special Rookan Pack drink that Bertha had just served.
"Really? Did they attack brutally like here?"
"No, they don't. They rarely face us directly. They prefer to act at night. However, they do attack important places like fields, waterways and so on," Carol replied.
"It seems like they are more friendly in your place than here. Here the Rogue is really evil and hard to kill."
"I've heard that from Frans. I think we should strengthen the pack's defense system. It's the only way to protect all the pack members here," Carol suggested.
"Actually, we've been feeling desperate for a long time. We just hope that our hero. The Moon Goddess werewolf will come and help us here. Do I sound like a storyteller now?"
"No, I'm not. Because I've already heard it from Frans," Carol admitted. She lifted her wooden cup and was about to drink the water in it. Suddenly she was surprised. Because the water was so hot, some of it spilled on her collar. "Ouch, it's hot!" Carol squealed.
"Are you okay?" Bertha quickly helped Carol shake off her collar. Until she accidentally saw a mark in the middle of Carol's chest. "Oh, the Moon Goddess. Your incarnation has come!" squealed Bertha in surprise.
