Looking down at the gold ring in my hand, "How will this stop him then?" I ask
"That ring belongs to me. It is engraved with my blood. Once he sees this, he's bound by law, oath, and blood to not disobey the alpha's orders. The ring signifies and stands for an order of protection from the highest pure blood vampire. He is bound to protect and follow you until you tell him it's okay for him to leave. If he tries to go against the rules my father will kill him and his family. So you’re set, he'll get you to your pack undetected."
Taking a deep breath, "please explain to him that I'm not running away from him" I say. With a grin, "oh don't worry, I've got that covered, now go" she answers. I give Ryan a final hug, as he's pulling away he says, "I can drive you to the airport". The private landing strip is about 30 to 40 mins away. Plus if Ryan drives me, I won't have to worry about parking and storage. "Thanks Ryan I really appreciate that I just need to make a stop at my apartment,” I say taking a breath, “I’m gonna kill them, I’m gonna kill them all” as I go through the door. On the way to my apartment, “Call us when you land?” Ryan asks. “I’ll call once everything’s taken cared of and I’ve taken back control of my pack” I answer not making any promises. “Saph…”, “Ryan, I’ve got it” I say cutting him off. I might have been away for 5 years but I haven’t lost my edge. We get to my apartment and I go in. I head straight to my 2nd room. In the closet on the top shelf is a mini combat bag I’ve kept just in case I ever needed it. Opening it I check to make sure I had the things I needed.
Mini combat knives, medicinal patches, a roll of wire, 6 fixed knives, 4 Karambits, 2 pesh-kabz, 2 Bowie knives, 2 Push Daggers, 1 Dirk, 1 Najava, 1 F-S fighting knife and 1 Seal Knife. I grab my custom made knife vest, and multiple knife bands for my legs and hands. I also grab my custom made combat boots, and a black cap. I strap everything on and put on my combat boots and vest. I strap on the bag across my shoulder and leave the room. I go into my main bedroom and grab my family pendant and pack bracelet from a little jewelry box on the dresser. From my bathroom, I open the medicine cabinet and grab from the top shelf several concentrated mixtures of silver and wolf’s bane. I slip them into the vial holders on the vest and head back downstairs.
Before walking back out to the car, I stop by the door.
“Enya, once we walk out there’s no stopping until we retake control of the pack and find dad. We won’t be able to see everyone, possibly for a few months; we won’t be able to see our mate, or find out what he’s doing. I just need to know that you’re ok with that.
“Can you promise that after all of this, we will claim our mate?” She asks,
“I will find him and if he still wants us, then I will let my guard down and trust him. I won’t give up my life completely though. As long as he’s an honorable mate, I will try to make it work” I answer. “Then I’m ok with everything” she says. Now with peace of mind that Enya fully supports me, I can completely focus on my family. Stepping out the door, my entire aura changes as Enya’s power slowly starts to ooze out of me. Getting back into the car, “Let’s go” I say. After another 20 minutes we pull up to the private landing strip. “Thanks Ryan,” I say as we step out of the car. “You’re welcome Alpha Black” he answers, catching me off guard, causing me to stop and look back at him. Chuckling, “You’re alpha aura is oozing out of you Sapphire, was that weird to hear again after all these years?” Smirking, “No, it feels good hearing that again” I answer honestly, “I’ve missed it”. “You know I will do whatever I can to help you” he says sincerely. “Ryan…” I start, but he cuts me off, “Is it wrong that I’m a little happy you don’t get to meet him today?”
Shaking my head, “Beta Ryan, you should know that no one will ever come between our friendship, mate or not” I answer him.
2:00 PM
Jason's POV
With my eyes still closed, I feel around expecting to pull her into my chest, only to find her side of the bed empty and cold. Feeling heavy and slightly annoyed at her absence I open my eyes trying to figure out where she could be. "The second room maybe?" Spike suggests. Sitting up, I listen to see if she was here in the apartment. It felt empty, I couldn't hear any talking, moving, or breathing. "She's not here" I say, feeling my anger about to rise. Looking over at the clock, a bright 2 pm stares me in the face. But right beside the clock there is a red card with the word mate written on it. And immediately, my building anger just disappears. I grab it and head to the bathroom to wash up.
Dear mate,
While you're sleeping soundly, I'm setting up a fun little date for us to sit and chat so that we can properly get to know who we are before we mark each other. If you can, come and find me where we had our first dance by 5pm today, if you're late there'll be a price to pay. P.s. you look cute when you sleep cuddling my pillows. -Your Mate
With a smile on my face, I jump in the shower. After getting out, I put my clothes on and head out to go back to my hotel suite to get fresh clothes. Grabbing my phone, keys, and wallet off the kitchen counter, I lock the door behind me. On the drive over I call Ron, "Well if it isn't the runaway alpha" he answers. Chuckling, "there's nnothing you can say to ruin my mood, so you can go ahead and tease me as much as you want." After a moment of silence he bursts out laughing, "Hahaha! I take it that means you sealed the deal and you are now a fully mated alpha with his Luna by his side then," he responds. Clearing my throat, "Well, we're mated but we didn't want to mark each other yet," I tell him. "You didn't mark each other?" he asks confused. Sigh, "no, we are going to have dinner at the lounge at 5pm and talk about all the specifics. I'll tell her who I am and she will tell me who she is. I'm also going to ask her about why she didn't recognize me four years ago and about why she's been hiding her scent and identity". After another moment of silence, he asks, "what do you want me to do?". "I want you to also be there, I'm on my way back to the suite now so help me choose something to wear" I answer. Scoffing, "I swear you think i'm your personal assistant or stylist instead of your Beta" he answers. Chuckling, "wait didn't you know? your my beta mate," I tease. Laughing he says, "screw you" and hangs up.
