Mel was sitting in her room while the kids were watching cartoons in their room. Al called her and the kids and she walked fast out of the room. The kids came out of their room to see what was happening.

Mom and dad this is Mel, Cindy and Mike Al says.

Is this our grandkids? Liz asks.

They certainly are Dave says and they opened their arms for the kids to hug them.

You are so cute Liz says and Cindy and Mike smiled.

Come here Mel Liz says and gave her a big motherly hug.

Mel felt so at home and started sobbing softly.

Why are you crying dear? Liz asks.

I am just so overwhelming Mrs…she says but couldn’t speak any further.

They moved to lounge while a good lunch was prepared by Olivia.

Mel we know everything that you and the kids went through Dave says with Cindy on his lap. Mike sat with Liz.

Mel cried like never before and they couldn’t understand.

Mel stopped crying and looked up to face Dave and Liz.

My parents died in a car crash when I was young and I don’t have any siblings. I was taken to a Children’s Home. It wasn’t bad at all, one of the ladies was like a mother to me the only difference was we didn’t stay together as a family. She always helped me to put the best dress on and did my hair just so that I can be chosen when couples came to look for children. I was never lucky to get a family and her words to me was always “don’t give up Melissa you will get the best family ever” and today it feels like that dream really came true. I’m not sad at all mom I’m just so happy she says. Thank you for accepting me and my children as your own. I never had the support of family when I went through such a loot with George.

Don’t worry my child that is all in the past and you have a father now that will come up for you and protect you and my grandchildren Dave says.

I went to Mr Benjamin yesterday and he started the divorce process. He says that it can go from one week to even longer if George don’t want to get a divorce Mel says.

That’s not good enough Dave says and called Mr Benjamin. He left the room while everyone else got ready to sit down for a late lunch.

Dave walked back into the room and went to go sit next to Liz.

Mr Benjamin advised that he went to go see George at work and he went crazy when he found out what your plan was. He does not want to sign the document but wants to speak to you. I told him that, that was not going to happen but that he needs to go to court and get this marriage annulled as soon as possible. I gave my friend a call he’s a judge just to inform him of what’s happening. He should get the documents by the latest tomorrow and do all the paperwork for this matter to be done and dusted 24 hours later Dave says with an annoyed look on his face.

Dad I don’t want you to upset yourself like this Mel says.

She’s right sweetheart don’t upset yourself. I’m sure James will sort out the matter soon Liz says.

I also spoke to him about the adoption of Mel and the change of their surnames into mine Dave says while dishing his food.

Mel looked at Dave and then smiled at him, Liz and Al.

Al what is happening in your life my child? Dave ask.

Nothing much daddy but I think I’m in love Al says and laughed.

Really? Liz says and looked at her daughter with very amused eyes.

Yes mommy. His a very nice guy she replies.

His last name is Smith, he’s a lawyer dad Al replies.

He sounds like James’s son Dave says.

Is his dad a judge? He asks.

Yes daddy that’s correct Al replies.

Do you know his father? Al asks surprise.

I would like him to visit soon because mom and myself have to leave in 3 days’ time again Dave requests.

Mel do you have something to say to us? Dave asks.

Mommy also have a boyfriend grandpa. His name is uncle Ethan Cindy says.

That’s good Cindy but granddad would like to meet him in person Dave says.

Yes I can but I need to ask my mommy for his number Cindy says.

Mel provided the number and Cindy start dialling it.

The phone was on speaker so they could hear someone saying hello.

Hello daddy Cindy says.

Hello Princess are you okay? he asks.

Yes daddy I’m calling you from granddad’s phone he would like to see you Cindy requests.

Okay and when would your grandpa like to see me Ethan asks.

Let me ask him daddy she says and everyone laughed.

Hi Ethan I hear you seeing my daughter, I would like to see you before I leave in three days’ time Dave says.

Yes sir that’s all good by me. Do you play Golf sir Ethan asks?

Yes I do and it would be nice to play again Dave says. Please do invite Al’s boyfriend as well.

Will do sir Ethan says and the call ended.

Let’s go to the spa when the guys go and play some Golf Liz suggested and the ladies agreed.

What about me? Cindy asks

You are going with my sweetheart; your grandma wants to go shopping for you Liz says.

Really Grandma? Yippeeee Cindy says and Mike just looked at her with a long face.

Don’t worry Mike your Grandpa will take care of you. Do you like games my boy Dave asks.

Yes Granddad but I don’t know how to play he says.

Don’t worry between me, Ethan and Dylan you will be able to play games my boy.

Thank you grandpa Mike says and hugged Dave.

The day went by and everyone eventually went to their rooms.

Mel called Ethan and he answered immediately.

Hi baby, how was your meeting with your new parents? He asks.

I love them already Mel says with a smile.

Dad wants to see you baby she says.

Let’s go and rest and have a great evening after you played Golf and we went to the Spa she says.
