Chapter 22 He Has No Right…

Chapter 22 He Has No Right…

Elena Pov

I stood at the end of the stairs, my movement still as I looked at the two figures who looked clearly intimate sitting on the couch. I felt my heart bleed with anger and sudden pain and all the anticipation I had felt while coming down all disappeared.

The confidence I had built all left me, and all that remained was confusion and pain as I just stared at the lady who had her hand on Marcus's lap and her body resting on his as she acted soft.

My lips pursed into a tight line, my head lowered and I didn't make a sound. Instead, I stood there, but my eyes had turned sore from the unshed tears that I had to force back. My sweaty palms clenched tightly, and my heart felt so uncomfortable.

My lips trembled but I couldn't even speak.

The gentle voice of the lady whom I recognised, Victoria Chen, one of the partners of Marcus, continued to echo but I couldn't even pay attention to whatever she was saying because all I could think of was how Marcus didn't remove Victoria's hands from him and had allowed her to rest on him.

I felt jealousy tug my heart, my stomach churned with disgust and for a moment, I wished I could run towards them, and throw that woman away from his body, but—What right do I have when Marcus doesn't seem to have a problem with that?!

I swallowed, and my lips curled in a shallow smile, then without wasting time, I turned around and prepared to climb up the stairs back to my room, but then, a familiar loud, confused voice sounded.

“Miss Elena, you’re awake?! The Master has been waiting for you to eat breakfast together!”

My heart literally paused at the butler’s loud voice. My eyes widened and I felt panic set in. My body stiffened, and my fist clenched tightly.

“Huh? Why are you going back up? Did you forget something?”

The butler questioned again, and this time, I knew I couldn't escape anymore.

I pursed my lips, took a deep breath and even if I’d rather hide than watch the man whom I love act intimate with another woman, I knew I had to face this, so I turned around, but my eyes went straight to that cold and kingly figure and at that moment, he raised his head and our eyes met in the air.

I swallowed, my fingers secretly clenched the dress I was putting on, and my heart beat so loud that I hoped no one heard it.

Marcus’s eyes and mine locked, and I felt my soul being captured by those enchanting eyes of his. He looked at me deeply, his dark eyes seemed to stir as he moved his gaze from my eyes and lowered it to my body which made my breathing become sharp.

I felt nervous, and even if I had prepared for him to check me out, I felt nervous all of a sudden. My toes curled as I felt his eyes trace my body.

Suddenly, the air turned cold, and my breath choked in my throat. The room turned silent, the temperature in the room lowered immediately and even Victoria, who had been resting her body on Marcus, stood up immediately.

The wide living room felt so tense that I felt my whole body become stiff, and when I thought I might collapse at any moment, his low growl sounded.

“What are you wearing?”

My heart skipped a beat, and my eyes widened as I stared at him. My brain went blank and I couldn't find an answer to his question.

“Huh?” I unconsciously responded, my brain still dazed from his commanding growl.

“Elena!!”

My body jolted, my brain snapped back at the roar of my name and this time, I looked straight at him and I saw the look in his eyes.

Rage. Intense rage, with an aura that made one submit without a word.

But this time, I don't want to submit to him! I don't want to listen!

My fist clenched, and I looked at him stubbornly.

Marcus stood up, his eyes sharp as he glared at me angrily, and before anyone could understand what was going on, he walked towards me, his movement fierce, his aura dark and sharp, and my heart couldn't help but beat faster in nervousness.

What the hell is he trying to do?! He wouldn't hit me, right?! Oh no…

My eyes widened as I watched Marcus come closer to me, and instinctively, I began to move back.

My breaths were shaky, my lips parted to stop him from coming closer, but his dark gaze shut me up.

Finally, his long legs got to me. Marcus stopped in front of me, his huge body covered me and it made me have difficulty breathing.

My wide eyes stared at him nervously, and my body began to tremble.

“You—”

“Elena.” He gritted dangerously, and my brain paused, “What did I warn you about yesterday?!” He asked, his voice husky and threatenly and I felt I might die here if I said the wrong word.

I parted my lips to respond, but what came out were my nervous breaths which made the space between tighter.

Dark eyes stared at me dangerously, and I could see the fire that danced through his eyes and in that moment, I forgot where we were, the situation and even the people around, especially Victoria who just stood there with her eyes wide as she stared at us in shock.

“Go back to your room.” He snarled, his jaw clenched.

My brain paused and my heart sank in my stomach. I looked at him like I had just heard the craziest words.

“What?!” I exclaimed.

Marcus narrowed his eyes sharply and I felt the aura around him become even sharper.

“Go back to your room and change!”

This time, the voice came out as a low roar.

My eyes widened at his words. My stomach churned with anger and I had an urge to snap at him.

How could he ask me to go change when he has a woman all around him?! What right does he have to detect what I wear?!

Yes! I knew I was reacting out of jealousy, but so what?!

My fist clenched, my eyes turned moist and my face flushed red from anger. My body trembled from the excitement, and as I looked at him, an unknown confidence came from nowhere. I stared into those dark intense eyes of his challengingly, then spat.

“No! I won't! You don't tell me what to do!”

The temperature lowered, and this space between us became cramp after my sharp response, but I didn't back down, I glared back at him confidently.

Marcus’s eyes darkened, his veins throbbed and for a second, I felt the feeling of danger.

Suddenly, a soft voice interrupted,

“Miss Elena, don't speak to the Alpha like that! It's wrong. Alpha, don't be angry at her, she is just a kid…”
